I just picked up my oriental rug from Ali and he did a FANTASTIC job! He cleaned it beautifully —- and repaired a couple whole holes. Hes an old world master who cares about your rugs. And his prices are very fair.

i have vintage family heirloom Turkish rug which needed a deep cleaning.after make a search i found out that the only handmade rugs care company in bay area is bay area rugs company.i took my rug to them to have it deep cleaned.meanwhile my rug had some fries here and there because of its age,when i went there to pick up my rug back it was cleaned.i found out that they have fixed all of smell issue that my rug had...
they said if they did not fix the rug before washing the small fries would have gone even larger during washing,which make sense to me as well...

i think they deserve more than 5 star review because they saved my vintage rug for me..
i found out that rugs cleaners and carpet cleaners are way different.handmade rugs should be cleaned by oriental rug cleaners not by carpet cleaners.

When my daughter’s puppies soiled our $12k rug, I was beside myself with furry. Figuring the 8x10ft wool and silk rug was a goner, these guys really saved the day.

They are extremely busy because they know their craft and do excellent work. In fact, 3 other clients were dropping off rugs while I was there briefly picking up our renewed rug.

They worked their magic and the pet stain is gone and no foul odor. They really saved the day.

And yes, I let my daughter keep the puppies. ;)

I've brought three rugs here to get cleaned--one from Pottery Barn, another high quality rug from Afghanistan, another Turkish kilim-- and Bay Area Rugs and Ali have consistently done a fantastic job. Dirt and water stains were removed, and twice the stubborn smell and stain of cat pee. I am very satisfied with the quality of the work, the attention to detail, and the reasonable prices. Highly recommended for all Bay Area rug cleaning needs, its even worth a long drive!

I wanted to find out about a rug I recently purchased it's age, quality, knots per square inch and how to clean it. My friend was once an employee of Ali's and recommended I go to Bay area rug cleaners. Ali greeted us with a welcoming smile and treated me like We had been life long friends, very sincere, honest, and informative. He doesn't tell you what you want to hear but gives you honest and non biest solutions on how to fix, clean and restore your rug back to it's best tip top condition possible. His knowledge comes from hands on experience from cleaning thousands of rugs over the years. He taught me that every rug is different and are made with different materials. It's important to know what the rug is made from either silk wool or synthetic material etc. The before and after results from his rug cleaning really impressed me. Thank God I didn't attempt to continue cleaning my rug at home I would have destroyed it. He tests for color bleeding before hand and knows what cleaning solutions will tackle or correct any problem area on your rug. He also told me where my rug was made, the tribe that made it and the materials used to make it and how old it was. Thanks Ali for being so sweet and informative, you have taught me to appreciate the art and history of my handmade Persian Rugs. You are the best!!!

Long Answer: Come to Ali if you want someone who will love your rug more than even you do. He is thoughtful, attentive, and kind to you and your rug. He loves his craft and his customers, and it shows. Ali cleaned and repaired a family heirloom rug for me, after it had been attacked by moths. I will be back with my other rugs soon.

No one can beat Ali’s prices or service, highly recommend. If you are lucky he will share some wise life advice as well (for free).

They picked up my living room area rug, cleaned it thoroughly and brought it back. It looks fantastic. I had it cleaned by a different company a year ago and was not pleased. It looks almost new again. I will definitely be using them again and I highly recommend this business.

We recently found a rather large, but VERY dirty second-hand area rug for very cheap. We weren't sure of its value, and if it was actually worth a deep clean.

I called Bay Area Rug Cleaners. The owner asked to send him photos of the carpet, was very responsive and helped me identify that the carpet was a cheap machine made carpet; he also tried to help us with a reasonable quote for cleaning it given the carpet itself was quite cheap.

The carpet is impeccably clean now, it has really lifted our living room and made our home cozy. We also loved getting to know Ali and working with him.

Wow! A great rug cleaning center! This place (just relocated to a huge cleaning place) is specialized in hand washing and green cleaning. It's cleaning method is deep and thorough, yet particularly safe for fine rugs, treating each fine rug like a piece of art works. I was fully satisfied for the result. Recommended to my friends who were also happy with the results. If you wish to preserve your fine rugs for a lifetime, this is absolutely the right place. Surprisingly, the price is also the best in the bay Area.

The owner of this company is a perssian. I will call him Rug doctor because he knows Rug so well. He checked all of the issues a rug may have before he start cleaning them. He fixes the rugs free before cleaning.
He has a passion for handmade oriental rugs. He knows how to do remove stains and any kind of odor. He wouldn’t clean a rug if he doesn’t believe that it is a valuable rug. An amazing cleaning company.

It's the second time I used Bay Area Rug Cleaners for cleaning my dirty rugs. It's a pleasure to work with them. They provide excellent service, staffs are incredibly organized and knowledgeable. They did a beautiful job on a number of badly stained rugs. The technicians are very knowledgeable about different type of stains, different type of fibers/pads, and different treatment techniques to clean the rugs. I will use this company again and again.

I had a great experience with Bay Area Rugs. They were on time and delivered my rugs to my house once cleaning was complete. They are very efficient at their work and comitted to greatness. They really made my rugs look brand new.

Highly recommend. Hand-knotted silk and wool rugs need to be hand-washed, as they have been for thousands of years. Machines have the potential to ruin them, while at the same time costing a fortune in overhead passed directly to the consumer. They washed a valuable wool rug of mine last week. Not only did it come out perfectly soft and clean, but Art inspected it before the cleaning and noticed the side threading was unravelling in several small places. He contacted me first and repaired them, saving them from unravelling in the wash. No place gives better service or care and attention to your rug than here. And what a bargain!

A few weeks ago I came home and discovered a huge stain on my favorite white sheepskin rug. My cat urinated on it and I really didn’t think we would be able to get the smell out. I contacted five rug repair shops and after sending pictures of the rug all five of them rejected the work and some didn’t even respond back. Art responded almost immediately via Yelp and said I could bring it in. His hours were really flexible too so that helped allot!
Art examined the rug, leather and stain throughly and discussed the chemical free process he uses and how it might take awhile. Over messaging, and again in person, he warned me how the leather might not be the same smooth texture after the wash, which I was okay.
We got it back in about a week and the rug was fluffier than ever! It was pretty and white and the smell was entirely removed! I could also tell there were no harsh bleaching b/c I’m allergic to bleach and harsh chemicals and I didn’t have any reactions when transporting the rug back.

This guy knew his stuff. We had a rug that was smelling full of dog and cat business, and he cleaned it right up. When I went to go pick it up he even saw a stain that he had missed and fixed it right there on the spot. I would bring all my rugs to him. Good pricing also

I love this business, they have a sparkling selection of rugs. It is my go to rug supplier and I’m sure I’ll but here in the future.
