First of all, Happy International Women's Day to the owner(s) and the women from Foreigner Cafe. I really like the atmosphere here. It's buzzing inside with people happily enjoying their meals and a chill and relaxing vibe on the outside seating. When I look at the menu, I don't see what is so foreign about their options. Then, I see the self-service area. There, that's your Foreigner Cafe! 😆 The food quality is amazing too!

One of the better breakfast/brunch places we've tried. The items that we ordered were delicious and tasty....except the nutella crepe, which was nothing different from many other good places. Prices are pretty much similar to many other quality breakfast/brunch restaurants.
Great friendly and attentive service from staff.
Of note, the displayed items are missing paprika so if you don't want it on, let them know ahead during ordering....ie, the morning breakfast croissant.
I enjoyed the infused jasmine tea a lot and would recommend for those that love a great jasmine green tea.
We would return if next time in the area.

I came here to have brunch with one of my friends. Loved everything about this place, if you’re new here and don’t know what to order they have sample plates to give an idea on what you get with your order, I ordered egg avocado toast, and cafe latte. Everything tasted so yummy! Will be going back soon!

Great breakfast, service and incredible coffee in one place!! This morning I was greeted by Josh, the manager, he suggested I try the Dolce Barako and the Veggie Scramble. Both beyond my expectations. Great vibe and really nice people.

First time in beautiful San Mateo and decided on Foreigner which stated it was women owned and operated. The food choices range from the Healthy Start to decadent waffles. The coffee was delicious (the foamy one is almond milk). The atmosphere is modern and eclectic. It’s not fast food, so go when you have time to enjoy or get a coffee and pastry to go.

First time went to this place with couple of friends for brunch. Highly recommend it! Staff are nice and welcoming and love the vibes .

This review is long overdue. We've been coming here since the beginning of the year, and it's always a great experience. The food is excellent, and the service is top-notch. They have a wide variety of tarts and breakfast/lunch choices. We tend to come here either early (before 1130am) or after lunch because the line is usually out the door. The best part about this spot is the parking is right behind the building with an entrance right next to the cafe. Do yourself a favor and try it out!

Fun, inviting street cafe. Delicious house made food. I had the spinach & mushrooms quiche! It's SOOO good, I want more right now! My grandmother had one of the soups it was very good.

10/10 our favorite brunch spot! My girlfriend and I come here all the time and it always seems a little better each time. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the California bagel. The staff also do an incredible job and are very friendly. The service is impeccable! We appreciate all the effort they put in to making this establishment magical.

If you are ever in San Mateo, check out this amazing cafe… I’m obsessed with the design, their menu, their service, and most importantly their food. Second time in this place and I will go there everytime I work in San Mateo.

A great restaurant for the late breakfast or brunch. Here you can find a wide selection of toasts, specials, bakery and desserts.

We tried Morning Breakfast Croissant and Smoked Salmon Toast. Both dishes were delicious. Good portions, toast and croissant were crispy, and all ingredients in dishes went well together. For dessert, we ordered a Triple Chocolate Mousse, and we were also satisfied with it taste. The dessert was delicate and balanced in sugar.

New favorite breakfast spot! My mouth was watering at the large array of beautiful dishes. 🤤 Coffee was awesome too.

-I couldn’t find the water and asked an employee and she graciously showed me right around the corner. Even though it was super obvious she was very kind about it. I appreciate the warmth from the staff.

Open for dinner! Highly recommend the artichokes and crispy rice balls for appetizers. The tender artichoke comes prepared standing upright perfectly smothered in a lemon-caper butter sauce. For the mains, steak with crispy potatoes and a delicious seared sea bass, moist with a crispy skin. Chocolate molten lava cake to finish off a wonderful dining experience. The waitstaff gets 5 stars as well for their attentiveness and professionalism.

Have come here for both weekend brunch and a lunch during the week. I love that they show all the menu items, so you can see what the food will look like. The food is great, and I was able to find a table easily both times. Would recommend :)

Went to tea time for a Bridal Shower and it was perfect in every way! Not only was the tea served in beautiful glassware/ china, but it tasted delicious and everything in the food towers was so good! The staff was also very friendly and accommodating of our large group. Highly recommend!

Went here for brunch with friends on a Saturday. We ordered our food and sat at a table. The ambience and the decorations was really enjoyable.

The spinach and mushroom quiche was terrific. I'm usually a little careful with quiche because of the strong egg smell, but it was cooked to perfection here. I enjoyed every bite of it

The french toast and tomato mozzarella avocado toast were fresh and tasted great as well.

The latte flight with 4 flavors - turmeric, Ube, matcha and beets was really interesting as well. With the turmeric, make sure to stir before you take a sip. The flavors were mild, but yummy.

For dessert, we had a strawberry crumble, Baked berries and triple chocolate mousse. The pastry for the crumbles were crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. Crumbled so well and tasted amazing. The mousse, very soft in texture and the chocolate wasn't overpowering either.

Overall, had an amazing brunch after a long time and definitely recommend this place.

Really great menu full of healthy delicious options, with even a display version of every dish. Very pretty and delicious desserts. And latte flight! Will definitely be going back. They also made a custom order of just scrambled eggs for my kid.
