Honestly the best Seapot in the area and it's not even close. They actually give you dessert as part of the buffet unlike Daly City and Sunnyvale. Their servers actually asked if I wanted more paste for my hot pot, instead of just giving me water.

They don't have the cucumber kimchi but their fruits are so much more fresh to make up for that. The calamari is great. Their KBBQ shrimp is peeled for ease of eating. Their regular hot pot shrimp is not.

They have a wider variety of noodles here and they're much better than the ones I've had at the other ones.

Vip room 3 & food presentation definitely wowed my guests. It's definitely worth booking if you have a large party. Karaoke was a bit hard to find songs but still enjoyed it.

Firstly, I like how Seapot has a parking lot. Granted, I arrived just before prime hours. It definitely beats fighting for street parking in downtown San Mateo. Even though menu was all you can eat, the protein portions were generous and they didn't try to slow you down. I ordered lamb, pork belly(x2), angus beef (x2), my photos are all single orders. The soup bases were flavorful, spicy pot and tomato soup. The only drawback for ordering two bases is that the meat cooled the soup down faster and it took a minute to warm back up, not much of a complaint though. The conveyor belt was pretty convenient compared to other hotpot restaurants, maybe slightly less options but still a decent amount of veggies/seafood, and maybe could have had a few more desserts 😁. I initially started with low expectations. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my meal and I would gladly come back again.

My brother came to visit from SoCal. We decided to try Seapot in San Mateo. It was amazingly a nice restaurant, the place is airy big, the parking lot is big enough so we have parking space when we got there at lunch. My sister loves the vegetables train that’s running nonstop except a few times to load. She kept taking all the nice and fresh veggies and shrimps. It even had beef tripes which I have to take my family here to try because my daughter loves tripes. Clams, mussels, dumplings, quite a few eatable dishes running through.
The servers are quite attentive and fast. There are quite a few broths to choose from, I chose one spicy one that’s so spicy (stay away from this one) I couldn’t taste anything, to change it would cost $3 LOL.
The meats are excellent, not as tender as Haidilao in Fremont but good. My son would love potbelly here.
The layout is the same as all the hotpot buffet restaurants like Shabuya in Milpitas. Everyone gets a pot of broth of his/her choice and a burner, they do burn hot so turn it down when the broth boiled.
At lunch may not have as many meats as dinner, but we had plenty of meats to enjoy, ribeye, potbelly and others, my sister ordered so I just eat and they’re all good.
There’s a sauce bar in the other corner that you need to go to get your dipping sauce if you desire.
The restroom is clean and well stocked.
The price is amazingly inexpensive. $20/person for lunch?
We had a great time eating and talking. Nice restaurant and I’ll definitely bring my family here although it’s a little drive from Fremont.

Simply delicious and so much variety of both salads, sauces, hot pot dishes on the conveyor belt (seafood, vegetables, tofu...) and even desserts.
We just love this place because we can try out new foods!

Amazing! We absolutely loved it. It’s all you can eat buffet for $30 for dinner! And it is delicious, the vegetables are fresh, and the ambience is fantastic. Like most Asian restaurants, the exterior doesn’t look very nice, but the interior is great. They have really nice rooms in the back that you can rent out for about $400 minimum. It looks like a really good Instagram worthy place.

All you can eat, my happy place. It's really difficult to go wrong with Seaport locations. High quality, fresh, everything. I think they need maybe one more sauce area since the line for the sauces can be long, but it goes fast so it's not a bother.

Choose your meat, get some goodies from the conveyor belt, put it in the pot or grill, enjoy!

Friendly and attentive staff. Has a 90 minute seating. Come hungry. Offers a varied selection on everything! Eat all you can! By far the best hot pot and Korean BBQ in San Mateo. No food wasted. They make sure you pay for excess. Come hungry!!!

I haven’t found any other ayce hotpot in this area yet. This place is really good value for what you pay especially when food prices are so high right now. It does not compare to haidilao in terms of sauce bar, but you’ll come out with a much cheaper bill and imo the food is very good.

The wait can be crazy during dinner time (except for Monday) so I recommend getting in on the waitlist beforehand.

They have several soup options, my personal favourites are the Thai pot and tomato pot. I’ve gotten the Thai pot every time for the last few visits.

Their meat quality is good for the price. However you can only order one plate per person at a time. The service could be slow when they are very busy, so order meat in advance even if you’re not done your current plate yet.

There’s plenty of other items on the conveyer belt such as seafood, fish ball, tofu noodles and vegetables. I was honestly shocked at the quantity of seafood they have. As a mushroom lover, I’m always pleased to see several kinds of mushroom offered. They also have fresh fruit and cake on the conveyer belt for dessert.

Legitimately one of the best hotpot I've ever had in the US! We were a large group, so we booked a private room and it was so nice! We went fancy and got lobsters and all sorts of other seafood. Everything came beautifully presented. Sauce bar had a good variety of ingredients. Service was friendly and prices were reasonable. I'd definitely come back again!

Amazing experience of true Chinese restaurant in the heart of it all.
Buffet type hot-pot with all you can eat, rotating pot filling, freshly cut all types of meats served up on your request, sauces and deserts bar, outstanding interior design especially at the event rooms, modern and clean bathrooms, polite and pleasant service with all extra dishes (and there are a lot) timely removed from your table.
Place was jampacked at 1 PM on Labor Day.
Seapot, you’ve got yourself a customer.

This is my first time in a hotpot restaurant. We wanted to make a reservation, but they let us know that only on weekends they take reservations. So We had to go there and write our name on the waitlist. The wait time was almost 2 hours. Since we live nearby, we went back home and came after 1.5 hours. Whatever the wait time was, the food there made us forget all the wait time. It is an all-you-can-eat type restaurant. They will first serve the soup that you ordered. Also for meat, you have to order from a server and it will be served in 5-10 minutes. You can again order for the meat and again have to wait. All the other food ingredients and desserts are served through a conveyor belt. On the table, a burner is given for each person. All the food was very fresh and delicious. I can say, I would go for hotpot again. The buffet price is $30+tax per person. I would recommend this place.

I was introduced to Seapot by my sister and am pleased to say it is one of the best hot pot places in the Bay Area/ San Mateo.

It is spacious with spot-on contemporary interior design. I love the large TV and sports bar feel.

The conveyer belt has a huge amount of mushrooms, seafood, dessert, etc options that you can choose from. And in such good quantity and quality, I was able to make a delicious blend in my hot pot. The mango pudding is delicious... ate 3 of these!

The bar for sauces and donuts was fantastic too. Our 2 service people was very attentive and nice, even changing one of our stocks when we found out it wasn't vegetarian.

Also saw what seemed to be a big private room in the back. Will be back again with more friends!

Great selection of seafood, veggies, and meat for ayce. I love how everyone gets their own soup base and pot. Service was fast and friendly staff. They also sing you the happy birthday song if you ask them to, and bring you a dessert. But the wait time can get long especially on weekends and holidays, you can put yourself on the wait-list through Yelp prior to coming in. The place was big and ventilation was good, not stuffy at all. Will be back when I'm in San Bruno/Millbrae again.

Love the atmosphere and the service was great! The angus and the ribeye were delicious. Not a huge fan of lamb in general, but it wasn’t too bad. Accidentally picked up my friend’s cut. However having tried it, I can say that it’s more flavorful than other hotpot restaurants I’ve been too for lamb lovers. I like the sauce booth, lots of choices. The pineapple was a nice touch to cleanse my palette with all the beef. The conveyor belt was a nice touch, definitely stocked up on the enoki mushrooms.

We loved our dinner at Seapot with friends! There were lots of options for hot pot and sauces, and the service was pretty fast despite how busy the restaurant was. Highly recommend it!
