I’ve been fortunate to have worked with Grahm, Vanessa, and Walter from the city of SLO over the last couple of years on our apartment complex project. They’ve been exceptional and the city has been exceptional. It’s been an overwhelming project but has been made better by working with these guys. They’ve been super kind, patient, and responsive in helping us navigate uncharted territory. They’re a wonderful bunch and as we’re near completion, we can’t wait to work with them again on the next project.

Code Enforcement cannot do their job. They are understaffed and do not spend the few resources they do have on important matters. They have come after us (new SLO residents) for trying to fix up our 102-year old property for 2 unwarranted violations (both thrown out) because they listen to the grumpy neighbor next door who bought his property 35 years ago for $80K (pays a fraction in taxes comparatively and has only made his property look more ugly for the neighborhood with that extra cash). The neighbor that keeps his property looking like a shanty town (6 sheds, shipping container in the driveway, items stored on the roofs, excessive 12-ft tall rickety privacy fence etc), the Code Enforcement has ignored for over 6 months since we reported these issues back in December of 2022. In the picture, our property is the nice looking one with artificial turf, the neighbor is obviously the other one with all the sheds.
