Slo Asian Market

I've moved here recently from the Bay Area and was desperate to find a place where I could find ingredients to do my Thai, Japanese, and Chinese cooking. I am so glad to have found this place! They even have fresh Thai basil and will order me Holy basil if I need it! They have such a large selection for a small space- even the more obscure items which I used to find in the Bay Area.

The owner is extremely nice and helpful. Like I said she will be glad to order anything for you if they don't have it. I'm looking forward to this being my go-to Asian store.

I come here for the ice cream and snacks. Little green tea and chocolate fishy shaped ice creams cant be found anywhere else. Son loves the glass pop-it drinks with a bunch of flavors. I hate red bean mochi (Trial and error with a bunch of flavors) I bought some red bean fishy ice cream by mistake and they let me replace them. I've only seen one cashier and she makes great recommendations too!

Owner is awesome. She’s always so friendly. It’s so fun to browse and go in for treats and sake! They have it all including birthday presents.

I try and come here pretty frequently when I am in San Luis Obispo. There are a few Asian snacks and candies that I get cravings for and this is really the only place to get them. There are a few other Asian markets in the region, but not really as well stocked as this one. I've had a few nice conversations with the owner and have always found them helpful and kind.

Okay- we see the side of the building on the way to French Hospital for appointments and finally decided to drop in. I needed cool and unusual snacks for the Halloween party. The young lady at the register is not just pleasant- indeed she is bubbly ,full of smiles and knew her cookies. Good selection of Saki. Picked up some fresh ginger root, candy and a mess of other snacks - I have absolutely no idea of what they are or how they will taste. That's the nice thing about holiday get togethers. A lot of folks unknowingly- volunteer as test subjects(I included) The young gal did point out the ones she tried and liked and also pointed out others she did not know about. I will be back and ,A) let her know what happened and B) stick up on more snacks with names I cant pronounce and full of stuff I never heard of. All of this came to $26.93 (,Saki had different prices for different budgets)

Great shop been around for 20 plus years only place in San luis that you can get stuff for ramen and hot pot. Also has huge selection of anime

Name has changed to San Luis Asian Market, they were giving out really cute stickers. So much fun in a tiny store, I have to force myself to leave before I spend more than 50 bucks. Really good important snack foods a and ramen, some cookware and anime merch. Overall worth checking out even if you don't buy anything

Love this little market. Great place to get all the essentials and specialty items for Spring Rolls, Sushi and reasonable prices. Thank you for walking me through all the "How do I make..." questions. Great friendly atmosphere♡

This place is really the only store in slo/ North county for Asian groceries. They have an excellent selection and great snacks! The woman who works there is always very friendly and helpful. We love it!

Super friendly, professional and helpful owners and staff! Great selection of fresh produce as well as sauces, noodles-they’ve got it all! If not they will get it for you!!

Cool local shop that's been in town as long as I can remember. Tons of imported/domestic Asian ingredients, sauces, packaged foods, snacks, drinks, household items. One of the few local places I could find a bamboo steamer. The owners Mom (or Grandma, can't recall) makes batches of spring rolls frozen in the back case. Fry them up and they're sooo good. Spans tons of different ethnicities/foods but I'm usually going for instant ramens, longinisa, frozen buns, and furikake. Not everything is cheap but the prices have always been sensible.

Great selection (for a smaller store, I wouldn't realistically expect them to be comparable to a larger supermarket), and incredibly nice staff.

Found more than I needed and grabbed it anyways haha. Well worth the visit!

A lot of hard to get spices, sauces, pastes and veggies. Many varieties of noodles, soy sauces and frozen items as well. Loved it!
Update: the customer service is on point! If they don't have what your looking for they will order it for you.

Love this place! Great selection of Asian and Hawaiian products, including all kinds of authentic staples, sauces, condiments, snacks, candies, and a nice selection of sakes and beer, too. But best of all, the lady that works the front counter is awesome. So friendly, and very helpful. I can to admit to feeing a bit out of my depth in an Asian market. But our local store is full of new foods to discover, plus the help I need to find them.

San Luis Oriental Market has a wide variety of delicious products. If you have any questions, the owner is always very happy to help. She has lots of good recommendations for the best products for whatever dish you might be trying to make. She has not steered us to anything that wasn't perfect for what we were trying to accomplish. there are all kinds of ingredients for whatever type of Asian cooking you might be interested in. There's also convenience foods, snacks, treats and desserts, and a variety of adult beverages! Every time I go there, I find something new that I want to try. I highly recommend it! Shop locally, support San Luis Obispo businesses, and eat delicious food while doing it!

Trust me, they have what you can’t find anywhere else in SLO. Their selection of products is the best of the best. They had all my favorite items! Shopping there feels like home. Thanks guys! They also have at least three parking spaces dedicated to their store.

I'm a big fan of this market. They have a good variety of seasonings, sauces and other ingredients needed for forays into Asian inspired recipes. They have a few freezers and a few refrigerators for frozen and fresh ingredients.

The best is when they have fresh, homemade pork buns! I've only had them on Sunday afternoons, but it is possible they are available other days and times.

Awesome!! First time to this store!! Love this place!! Got new recipes to try out!! Found everything I needed. Prices are great. The owner was at the register, and she was so kind. I will definitely be back!!😀
