Unfortunately, this motel property currently was not offering Complimentary morning breakfast and their snack vending machine was empty.
So! I gave my stay 3 Stars.

THANK YOU! for the return message on yesterday's review I gave regarding their snack machine wasn't avail. Apology accepted which means so much to me because it lets me know your properties means alot and wants to be sure their guests are happy and you're going to make sure I return in the near future.
I am a returning guest to your hotels, in the past 5 yrs would say 16th stay with family or friends on vacation. The amenities you advertise is why I chose to stay.
I want to change the rating to 5 STARS because I know my next stay will be satisfactory.

I felt like I needed to write this review to give an honest opinion of our experience at the Value Inn so that people thinking about booking could get a clear idea of what to expect, so you can decide if it’s what you are looking for. To me the easiest way is pros and cons:

Pros:
--staff were friendly and accommodating—we asked to leave our luggage when we got there early to walk around, asked for extra pillows and blankets, to print things from the computer, and for a late check out, and they were accommodating on all fronts.
--room was updated (maybe not all of the rooms were but ours was). Beds were comfy (I think they are replacing all the mattresses as there were about 40 near the trash), pillows were nice, overall everything was clean, nice tv with lots of channels, great to have mini-fridge and microwave, pretty large sized room, shower had really good water pressure and hot water, alarm clock with USB and outlet charging ports, cold air conditioner
--fast and free wifi, no issues getting kicked off or being slow
--housekeeping—very friendly and cleaned the room every day very nicely
--price—I got the place completely with my credit card reward points, so I can’t talk to exact price, but it was a great deal
--coffee in the hotel room
--free parking (although the parking lot is a bit cramped, but we didn’t have any issues parking)
Cons:
--“deluxe continental breakfast”- nah. Don’t expect much out of this other than some prewrapped pastries, yogurt, cold cereal, juice and coffee.
--yes, there are parts that are a bit run down (could use some spackle, etc) and the outside of the hotel leaves some things to be desired, it’s definitely not going to impress you when you look at it
--small size bathroom, but manageable—the towels might be good for scrubbing and exfoliation, but are definitely not soft or luxurious, and I would need to sew 3 together to cover me
Neutral:
--location—about 1 mile from San Mateo Caltrain station, so we took an Uber to the station then the Caltrain into SF for sightseeing (about $7-$8 each time for the Uber). Would be great if it was closer to the station. It does feel at first like it’s in a strip mall with nothing around, but actually if you walk around into the neighborhood there’s a lot of great things—great Mexican place and café, small grocery store, and its about a 15-20 minute walk down to the San Francisco Bay and walking trails, where there is also a great park for kids. It’s about a 10-15 minute drive to the airport.

Overall, for what we were expecting (especially after reading some of the reviews), it exceeded expectations, so I’m giving it 5 out 5 because it’s 5 stars for what it is—a well run basic value hotel with nice features.

Stay there just a few nights friendly Maids staff overall. If you stay more than three nights you'll get a deal on the room. The room is clean and not too bad for the price recommended sure

Our room, a queen sized bed, was nicely sized. There is a bath tub for people who like baths. The hotel leaves you with all the normal things like soap and coffee, but they also had shoe shine, which surprised me.

I 100% recommend this hotel.

Pros:
1. LOTs, I mean LOTS of plugs. For a techie, this is a big one for me. Most hotels have like one or two open plugs for devices. This place even has a wall socket with USB plugs for you.
2. The gentleman that works the hotel is nice. Very attentive
3. They gave us anything we asked for. We already had 4 pillows on our bed, and when we asked thy gave us more.
Con:
1. The only problem that was the fault of the hotel was the weak wifi signal. I can't complain about this too much because we didn't say anything to them, so even if they could have fixed it we didn't give them the chance.
2. This isn't their fault, but the AT&T signal in this part of town is spotty at best.

Best hotel for the money! The rooms were clean and hotel staff are very prompt. I was worried about checking into this hotel with all the negative reviews, but the room I stayed at was better than the Hyatt or Westin. Your close to 3rd avenue which has tons of attractions and restaurants, or you can take a drive to Half Moon beach. This hotel deserves much better reviews and I would love to stay here again!

We just love this place. This is my first place to choose when I'm traveling. The staff is excellent. Rooms are nice , quiet , clean , and very comfortable. I recommend this place to everyone. Thank you

Honestly, we've been on a road trip for a week now and are staying in this Super 8 right at the moment (we've been to two Super 8's in LA, one in Gilroy) and one Hotel 6 close by here and this one is the best Super 8 so far that I've seen during the past 6 years of visiting the US for vacation.
I'd absolutely recommend this Super 8. The owner is really a nice guy and friendly - rooms are a little smaller but in very good condition and the even got flat panel TV's - the first time I've seen this in Super 8.

Best hotel I've ever visited. Owner is informative and friendly. Rooms are clean and efficient. Off the highway and near some restaurants.

Very quaint. For the price much nicer then I expected. Very close to Downtown San Mateo and the convention center. Pretty big room.

The staff was, locations is nice,good service,towels are clean, worth the stay

It was very cozy and secluded but very private rooms. Had no problem checking in, staff was very professional and quick.

I love the convenience. And I love the fact that I have a mini fridge and a microwave in my room.

Best deal in town! Kish is awesome. The rooms really are nice, especially for the price.

Surprisingly clean! Rooms smell great.. and well kept by the cleaning ladys.

The owners of this establishment were very accommodating and helpful. We will be back.
