Del Monte Park

A very good park and sports field for all age of people. Centrally located in downtown. A devoted picnic area is provided. Separate parks for small and large dogs. Soccer grounds are full size and well maintained. Restrooms are adjacent to the park. Wheelchair accessible entrance.

This is a small but quiet park and a great addition to the Del Monte/Monte Vista condo neighborhood. Has a great dog park area and an AWESOME turf soccer field that is massive!

Decent size dog park. Area divided by small and large dogs. There's a corgi meetup sometimes here on Sunday mornings!

Great facilities! Small and large dog areas, good fences, double gated entrance, water stations, garbage cans, and often (though not always) free waste bags. However, no lights for after sundown. Some owners could be more responsible in controlling and cleaning up after their dogs, though that's not the facility's fault.

My dog (French bulldog) always have a blast here. This park is clean, relatively easy to find parking, and chill. So nice to have small and big dogs in separated areas. But I do once in a while a “big” dog playing in the small dog area. There’s a water fountain for doggies, too.

New favorite dog park! Lots of benches and shade, a watering bowl for the dogs, and most importantly, a quiet neighborhood. We arrived at 10, parking lot was full when we left at 11.

Okay when I was here last week I love the park but I didn't go all the way in.but today I did and I saw that you can work on your bike for free there it's really cool.

To be clear on this review, I did not go to the playground side of the park. I went to see my nephew play flag football. The turf was great and the fields were clearly marked (he had a great time)! The only negative thing about the park is the complete lack of parking AND the fact that the SJ traffic department were handing out parking tickets to cars parked on the nearby streets (parents of kids) that are home to industrial businesses (I didn't see a single business still open) after 6pm on a Friday night.

I get it. It's a local park servicing the TONS of high density housing in the area but it's a city park so why punish parents who want to get their kids out of the house (especially after Covid) by handing out parking tickets to people who are not blocking businesses?

FYI - I did not get a ticket so that's not the basis of my review.

Beautiful and clean park with 2 new soccer/flag football fields. It also has new playground and restrooms outside. Though, the parking is limited so you need to find a spot on the street.

Great place to meet friends and to take your dogs to enjoy the par lots of shaded areas to relax and watch you dogs have fun very clean and well maintained also had a big artificial grass for soccer and plenty of parking nice playground for the kids and bathroom

My fave dog park in the downtown San Jose area. It's clean and the owners are generally nice and respectful.

The people who bring their dogs here are delightful. Mostly, they let dogs be dogs, but they know to step in when things get out of hand. The park has separate large and small dog sections, which is nice when I bring dogs that fit those categories, but an experiment when I bring one who is in between. It's not the park's fault. A "medium dog" section is not necessary. It just means giving the dog I am with a chance to try both sides and see which one works best. There are also trails next to the park that are great for dogs who don't feel like socializing.

Yes!! Love this dog park. Two areas sectioned off by dog size. There is lots of turf space to run and play fetch. Poop bags and water all provided! Owners there were so friendly and conscious of their dogs. Can't wait to take my pup back there again. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to have your dog run around or play with others. Plus there's a small walking area too by a large soccer field if you just want to take your dog for a quick short lap. There were some policemen patroling the area too and it's right across from some apartments--convenient!

Nice dog park, well organized and always kept clean by the city. They have two sections, once for big dogs and one for small dogs.

Best dog park in the downtown area! Lots of great people, friendly dogs, and it's astroturf so no mess.

Great dog park! There's an area for small dogs and for big dogs. Plenty of benches and some shaded areas. Both sections have a doggie water fountain. There is parking on the street, but also a small lot of parking behind the park. Our pup had a great time!

Very nice dog and soccer park with other features including a wild rooster with a very large spur and an attitude.
