Our long time Dentist for over 40 years retired and over the last
seven years, my husband and I used several Dentists but we just could not find a doctor that we were 100% happy with. My husband recently had issue with a tooth pain. He called Dr. Derek Wong's office and they were courteous enough to see him the following day. Dr. Wong's mannerism and service was outstanding.

When I had pain with my teeth, my husband, of course, called Dr. Wong's office and they made an effort to fit me in on the same day. Other offices which I had called could not schedule me for 2 weeks to 2 months. I was grateful for Dr. Wong's kindness to be able to fit me into his busy schedule. Besides being courteous, he was respectful to my concerns.

He gave me options and he discussed what he would recommend. This visit gave me things to think about for the future. I usually don't write reviews but the doctor's diligent care along with his kindness deserved an excellent review.

I truly love Dr. Wong and his team! My husband and I happily travel all the way from Oakland to see him. Dr. Wong has always sincerely taken care of us and gives us his wholehearted attention and effort whenever we come to see him. He doesn't seem to overbook his patients, which makes for a much nicer atmosphere at his office and appointments. I also always appreciate the candid and considerate advice he offers in everything. If we have any questions, he has always been prompt to follow-up with us.

It's nice that there's a parking lot at this office, so you don't need to find parking on the street. As a bonus, his office is outfitted nice and cozily, which is a nice departure from the stark, alien waiting rooms of many other health professionals.

I'm so glad we no longer have to go "shopping" for dentists now that we've found Dr. Wong. :) Thanks as always for taking care of us!

Dr. Wong, his dental hygienists and his receptionist are the best in class. There team is one, lean, efficient Dental machine. They welcomed our family with open arms after we received a referral from a orthodontist. My 11 yr old experienced a deep cavity today. He visited another dentist who called that cavity a “watch” 6 months ago. I was beyond impressed with how Dr. Wong disclosed the news and said we have two courses of action and included me in the decision making process. It is difficult to find a trustworthy dentist who has great skills and shows he truly cares. I asked Dr. Wong “what would you do if this is your son”? Dr. Wong gave the same answer meaning he treats his patients like his own family. Dr. Wong’s hygienists, Anna & Monica are awesome and his receptionist, Alyssa is patient-friendly and customer service oriented. She understands family’s needs and works to accommodate schedules. We only wish we found Dr. Wong sooner! I know people are loyal to their dentist and now I’m a Dr. Wong LOYALIST!🙏

Dr. Wong puts a lot of thought and effort into making his patients feel comfortable and safe. Throughout my visit Dr Wong and his amazing staff communicated openly about procedures and happily answered my questions. I enjoy the friendly atmosphere and encourage family and friends to join this dental practice!

Dr. Wong and his team are amazing! They’re so diligent and friendly. Dr. Wong provided a step by step explanation what the examination would entail. After the examination, he gave me his analysis and provided options on how to proceed. The assistant (can’t remember her name) also went ahead and said she will reach out to my insurance company to see if and how much of the fee will be covered. I truly appreciate this team. I definitely continue seeing them for further dental work and I recommend them to anyone.

All the other reviews are completely accurate. Dr. Wong is an amazing dentist. He and his staff have wonderful bedside manner. They are all so very kind and patient. Dr. Wong is a great clinician and as long as I live in the San Mateo area, I will continue going to him.

Dr. Wong was friendly. Monica was gentle and nice. I normally don’t like visiting the dentist. Monica was playing nice music which helped me relax. I really like the office decor. I’ve scheduled my next appointment. I think I’ve found my new dentist. -Mila Tapia, 10

I recently had an amazing dentist visit for a cleaning. Dr. Wong was very knowledgeable, professional and kind. He answered all my questions thoroughly and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. His assistant was also very friendly and reassuring. The office staff was efficient and organized, which made the experience go quickly and smoothly. The technology used was state-of-the-art and I felt confident that I received the best possible care available. Overall, this was a great dental experience and I would highly recommend Dr. Wong to anyone looking for a caring dentist with a commitment to excellence! 5 stars!

I was referred to Derek Wong DDS by my former dentist who retired. My former dentist said that Dr. Wong is a wonderful dentist and he is right. I drive over an hour to see him and always have a great experience in his office.I trust him with my dental needs. It’s worth my trip to San Mateo.

Dr. Wong is a tremendous dentist with excellent skills and a kind heart, and so is his team!

The first time I came to see Dr. Wong was for a deep cleaning session and to fix a few cavities, and I was terrified due to childhood trauma. However, Dr.Wong was kind, patient, and had a “gentle touch.” Not only did I feel no pain, I almost fell asleep during the procedure.

Even though I live 400 miles away now, they are still my go-to! That's how amazing they are! And no, I'm not just saying that because Dr. Wong gave me a cupcake! (just kidding)

Your reading this to see if Dentist , "will be right for You or Not" Well here's the Truth , I am not family , nor have I been paid a fee to write this review, In my 76 years , I have had a lot of Dentist some Good some Not, But Derek Wong,DDS is by far the "Best Dentist I have ever had , He has his patience in mind at all stages from safety and sanitation , to actual care and reasonable cost , He is honest and Best of all he has turned his Profession into a Laser Focus Practice that is Bar none "The Best Dentist You will find in the Bay Area ( No actual California) Look No Further this Man is Seriously the Best, You will be more than Happy with His Serves, I promise You.

I got a really bad infection. Went in there and have it exam. Dr. Wong make sure Im in good hand and took care of me. Dr. Wong examed and determined it was a really bad infection so he referred me a surgeon same day and sent me there. They took care of it since its a emergency case. Glad I went there since surgeon told me if it was a day or two later, I would have end up in a hospital or worse case spread to my eyes.

I’ve been to several dentists in the area, and Dr. Wong’s office has been the best overall by a long shot! He was incredibly kind, answered all my questions, and made me feel very comfortable. The technician was super friendly and very gentle, and the front desk staff helped map out pricing with my insurance so that it was all painless. 10/10 experience, would definitely recommend!!

The staff is friendly and very professional from the moment you walk in and throughout your appointment. Dr. Wong really took the time to get to know me and understand what I was looking for – and as a new patient it was really amazing to have a dentist like him.. Great dental experience!

My appointment was right at 10:45. They took me in sent me down right away. They were awesome and I couldn’t recommend these guys any more top-notch service. Dr. Wong is amazing 10 out of 10 would recommend Dr Wong.

Dr. Wong and his team are very good at their job, they are also punctual which I really appreciate. Dr. Wong took the time to read my dental records from my former dentist and was aware of my issues. He is very qualified. His assistant, Lucy did a good job at cleaning my teeth.

It was my first time coming to that dentist and I like the ambiance of the place. They have a free parking under the building which is very accessible to the place. The staff were very nice and friendly. The dentist was very nice, professional, and very gentle on the cleaning of my teeth. It was a great experience for me!

I had not been to the dentist in 3 years. I had a lot of plaque and overall my teeth weren’t in great shape. I made an appointment here, and they were more than wonderful, friendly and on point! They took the time needed without making me feel bad and got me set up with a good plan. Dr. Wong was great with highly skilled and straight forward. I highly recommend this dentist office.
