I recently had the pleasure of working with Lavan, and I must say, their reputation as masters in their craft is well-deserved. From the onset, the team demonstrated a profound level of expertise and commitment to quality.

What stood out to me was their attention to detail. We engaged with Lavan in 2019 for our addition and full remodel project. We were looking to add about 500 sq ft and do a full remodel of our existing house (plumbing, electrical and bathrooms included). We talked to a few contractors and selected Lavan because they were the only ones that explained the process in detail, provided us insights about what to consider etc. Fahid and Moein spent multiple sessions even before they had been shortlisted.

The permits were delayed because of Covid and we started our project in Sept 2020. Fahid and Moein did everything they could to get started as soon as possible even with Covid and supply chain delays.

It was a big project and we were very anxious. But overall we had a great experience with them. Lavan (Fahid and Moein in particular) listened to our needs, took accountability and even improved their process based on feedback. Throughout the construction phases, they were ready to take our inputs and adjust to our needs where possible. They implemented better project communication when we gave them the feedback. They helped us select quality materials for flooring, cabinets, countertops etc.

In any large construction projects there are going to be bumps in the road- and we did too. But Lavan always resolved those to our satisfaction. I have heard horror stories of delays from other people, but Lavan finished our project on time. I would gladly work with Lavan again if there is an opportunity in the future.

March 2022 update:
It has been over 2 years since we have moved back into our house. Of course there is normal wear & tear on the house but overall, everything is still holding up wonderfully. Nothing is broken, no major issues have come up. Thank you, Lavan team!

We hired Lavan for a massive remodel & addition that took 6.5 months and I echo much of what other reviewers have said - they are trustworthy, extremely knowledgeable, and good with consistent communications. They will help you do what you want within your budget, or they will make alternative suggestions. They genuinely care about your home and I think that's hard to come by. They have an extensive vendor network which is hugely beneficial as we needed select and purchase all the finishes. Fahid helped a ton during that process as well.

Lavan is generally flexible and always willing to help you where they can. We had a fireplace we wanted to save and they made every effort to save it. We had a couple change orders, but due to additional things we wanted, not due to them.

Even after we already moved in, we had a water pipe out towards the street burst (completely unrelated to anything they did). They were able to send out one of their subs quickly that day to help us out and fix it. Also, after we had moved back in the house awhile, we turned on the heat and it did not work (some things you will not discover until much after completion). They were quick to send someone to troubleshoot and fix.

Overall, while there are small things here and there I would have done differently, we love the work Lavan did to create this beautiful home.

Our family decided to remodel our outdated kitchen, update the master bathroom and create an entryway bookcase and mudroom for our home. We looked around for a company that understood our needs and desires with the project and was easy to work with. Lavan was one several contractors we received a proposal and conducted an interview with. From very early on, we knew that they were someone we wanted to work with. They were transparent and upfront about this adventure we were both about to embark on as partners.

We started this project together and unbeknownst to all of us, learned we had all just entered a global pandemic. These are unprecedented times, there were many challenges that Covid-19 presented and the team at Lavan stood by our side and continued to work with us to ensure that we could continue and do what we could during this time.

While the project took longer than expected, the team at Lavan never left our side and continued to find ways to keep things moving as best they could and complete a beautiful remodel that we are very satisfied with.

We found that Moein and Fahid were very responsive to our questions and concerns throughout this project. Even when things didn’t always go as planned, the Lavan team was good about addressing any challenges and communicating with us that there would be an update and a solution.

Fahid’s knowledge and experience came through many times to help keep things moving, either dealing with various inspectors or sub contractors and navigating any unforeseen construction challenges. While our aesthetics may not have 100% matched at all times, we found him to be understanding, having great insight and vision and his communication style with both my wife and I helped to continue to put us at ease throughout the project.

Lavan is a family run business. Throughout our project we met most of the family. They are a growing business with a new design center and continue to look at ways to evolve their business to provide quality results for their clients. Lavan is built on honest hardworking people that you get to know and care about because they in kind care about you and your home!

I cannot say enough about the high quality of work performed to date by Lavan Construction. I hired Lavan Construction to help design and build a new kitchen for my 1950’ era home. I asked Lavan and three other contractors come out to do a walk through and estimate for the remodel. Lavan was the only firm to do an in depth interviews of my wants and needs before coming back with a plan and associated cost estimate. Their years of construction experience were clearly evident as they examined, measured, and asked about what I wanted from the project. They came back to me with a detailed plan outlining the process, individual phases (Design, Structural Support and Remodel) and associated deliverables and costs. We are now in the Structural Support phase and I must say, that throughout the process to date, I have been kept informed about the work, they have brought in specialists (structural engineers) to ensure all work is up to or exceeds code before inspection and worked with me in finding the best materials within my budget. I am truly looking forward to my new kitchen.

Working with Moein, Fahid and their team was a dream come true. We had a ton of work to do to make our new home move-in ready and Lavan surpassed our expectations on every dimension. Not only did they finish the project on-time (despite several “surprises” we all came across as work started getting done), but they met our budget expectations and did everything (and more) in their power to help us get the highest quality for the lowest price. They were beyond professional - they truly became part of our family through this project. They were trusted partners throughout - reliable, honest, organized and always with our best interests in mind. As someone who grew up in a construction family, I was overly impressed with the level of knowledge Fahid has. He is truly an expert in his craft, while being the nicest person to work with! I trusted his opinion and wouldn’t make a construction or design decision without his input. Fahid was also the only contractor (of 6 we met before hiring Lavan) that didn’t push their opinions too strongly or with any arrogance - he always gave his expert opinion, but also always said it was most important that we were happy with our choices. He was overly patient as we asked a million questions! Overall, a fabulous experience - if / when we ever do remodeling, we will absolutely hire Lavan again!

Fahid, Moein and the entire Lavan team are just terrific. Extremely professional, polite, reliable, and from start-to-end just delivered as promised. Project was completed on time and at cost, and they consistently above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Work product is of highest quality, and the team is super responsive and friendly. We would work with them ahead in a heart beat and recommend Lavan to anyone!

We engaged Lavan construction for renovation of 2 bathrooms and addition of a number of storage closets in our house. We thoroughly enjoyed working with them beginning from the design phase to construction. The 3d renderings that Lavan provided of the choices we made for the bathroom stall shower was very helpful to visualize the final look. The tile work in particular was excellent. We added a couple of items in the end and lavan was able to accommodate it. We worked with Robert , lavan’s cabinet designer, to design a walk in wardrobe, kitchen pantry and hallway linen cabinet. His designs were accurate and focussed on utility. The quality of the material used and the execution was perfect to the last detail. Robert himself installed all of them in under a day. Overall we are very pleased with our experience with Lavan. Worth the money we spent.

Of the myriad General Contractors (GCs) we engaged to provide a proposal to support our project – a master suite addition of approximately 485 square feet and renovation of the existing 1,415 square foot residence –, it was obvious from early on that Lavan was the leader in the clubhouse. Not only did they take the time to understand our project and what we envisioned for the endgame, they did so without insisting that we conform to their way of doing things or their ideas on what needed to be changed, which was NOT true of other GCs we interviewed.

While they did provide input, it was always, a recommendation, based on their knowledge and experience. The ultimate decision was always ours to make. In the often messy (pun intended) construction business, things can easily go off track through nobody’s fault. Moreover, not every suggestion or decision is going to be without its own set of issues. Lavan’s straight-forward communication style, outlining the pros and cons as well as the potential conflicts and/or issues that came with the options they presented was outstanding. This made the decision-making process, regardless of the outcome, that much easier to process.

So, while Lavan was not the least expensive option we had, we felt they were ultimately the best based on consideration of the entirety of the proposal reviews and our interview process. We were very pleased in our project collaboration and the overall product turned out very much how we envisioned. We were, and continue to be, very pleased with the “new” home we created by working with the Lavan team.

We completed a major remodel of our house. We added new full suite bedroom/bathroom, we completely remodeled our bathrooms, kitchen and family room.We moved walls, plumbing and replaced flooring. From the time they started until they finished it was 3 months, it was as expected per contract and some delays if any was due to county inspection. Lavan construction was not the lowest bidder but they were detailed and patient. This clearly gave us the best impression that they understood the job and how to get it done. They subcontracted most of the work to a variety of skilled workers (carpenters, drywall, electricians, HVAC, plumbers, etc) Everyone that came to our house to work was professional, proficient and worked quietly. Fahid is very patient and extremely professional. He works great at the ground level. Any ideas/changes we came up with, Fahid evaluated patiently and would candidly tell us if it was implementable or needed tweaks. We had to delay our project for a bit due to a medical situation, Fahid and Moein understood the situation and accommodated our requests without any issues. They made our dream house a reality.
As in any large project, there were things that had to be corrected and I will say Lavan Construction never debated or dragged its feet on any of them. We are very pleased with the results of our remodel and would not hesitate to hire them again.

Lavan Construction came to our house for a consultation on our remodeling project. They were prompt, thorough, and very knowledgable. This was our first remodeling project and Moein spent several mornings patiently explaining the remodeling process and industry. We ended up having to postpone our project for family reasons, but we plan to use Lavan's services as soon as we can.

We recently did an addition and a full remodel of our house. We were new to the remodel process when we first started seeking bids for our project. Moein was one of the first guys we spoke with. We told him we were new to the process and were not sure what to look for. He spent a couple of hours patiently explaining the process, what to look for, pitfalls etc. We hadn't decided on a contractor then (he was one of the first we met), we had not committed to a contract with them but he still spent a lot of time explaining the remodeling process. We actually used that when we met other contractors! Eventually we picked Lavan because of their honesty and openness. Besides, incidentally one of my coworkers was also remodeling at the time and she happened to mention that they were using Lavan too (this was after we had met Moein and Fahid and nearly made up our mind). That made our decision even easier.

From the get go Lavan was very professional and prompt. When Fahid visited our house for the first time he right away got into the 'weeds of the remodel problem' and pointed out things which no other contractor had pointed out. This shows his vast experience and attention to detail.

As per contract our project was to last 6 months, we later added several things to it, and yet they completed the project on time.

One thing I would specifically like to mention is how they accommodated our needs during the remodel process. Since we were remodeling the entire house it would have been so much easier for them had we moved out of the house. But we could not do that for budgetary reasons. We were very upfront about the fact that we could not move out for more than a few weeks. They accommodated our request and made arrangements for us to live in the house while the work was going on. We have a toddler and I was worried how this would work out, but Fahid was very meticulous about ensuring the safety of my family through this. My little one loves him!

Regarding the work itself - because of Fahid I now know what a top quality finish looks like. They never cut corners, several times going above and beyond what was in the contract without charging extra. In fact several times I would propose some changes, and he would patiently explain why it was not possible to do those, with technical details, even if doing the work would have been to their financial benefit. He treated this like his own home, and let us know honestly if something was not needed, or if we could save money by doing it in a different way. He worked very hard to get us huge discounts on a lot of the materials, so we could stay on budget.

Overall we found a contractor, we could trust completely, and who build us our dream home beyond what we had imagined.

They answered all my questions over the phone thoroughly and explained the process very well. We talked with the VP on the second phone interview and he's supers knowledgeable.
