We reserved a spot at a walk-in campground. Parked the car in the parking lot and used a cart to offload our gear to the reserved campsite. The campsites were nicely spaced out, offering plenty of privacy. There are many nearby trails surrounded with many trees. Plus it’s not crowded or noisy at all. Highly recommend! Restrooms were clean. Check in at 3pm for camping. No need to pay extra $6 vehicle fee at entrance if already paid for camping reservation.

A true gem. The admission fee is $6 dollars. The park is well kept and there are multiple parking lots with plenty parking spots.

We walked the Sanborn trail (map on All Trails). Uphill is a little rough but it’s well worth it. The lush greenery, winding trails, and diverse wildlife all make the trail pleasant.

The park is also pretty family friendly, as there’s camping spots, playgrounds, and open spaces for picnic and events.

This is an amazing gem. I love the short trails. Perfect for little kids. But enough to see and plenty things to discover. Coming from Texas this is a very nice change. Toward the end of my visit, we got a special surprise from little dears. It was wonderful.

Very nice. This time of year it is very quiet. The youth science camp has not started yet.

How have I not utilized this park before?? We were there for camping, in the RV section. The RV sites are essentially a parking slip with a little bit of space behind you. There's a bench and a place for a cookout, use only charcoal. Not super exciting, but not why you come to this park. The weekend I was there, everyone was super chill. There were kids riding their bike around the circle. Folks carrying in and carrying out their camping supplies. It was just lovely

Trees and open space everywhere!!!!!! Hiking, hiking, hiking everywhere!!!!!! Multiple picnic tables beside charcoal grills. Lots of folks having little get togethers. Lots of people bring their dogs, at the time of this writing, leashed dogs are allowed on the trails. They're a super strong Wi-Fi in the RV parking lot, also, that is where the cars park who are tent camping.

THE NIGHT SKY!!!! I could see the night sky, everything around you is dark. Just beautiful ❣

Oh, the bathrooms are super clean. There's even soap. Showers are available, I don't have any feedback on those.

The rangers helpful and kind. The only downside was I wanted to ride my bike and I wasn't really sure where I could access the paths that allow bikes.

Awesome county park.

They have walk-in tent campsites and about 20 rv campsites with water and power. There is a dump station on the way out. Sites are small but have a cement picnic table and grill pit. One drawback is that its built on a slope and the campsites have a slight tilt. You’ll need to drive up on blocks to get even.

There is a camp host should you need help with anything.

Bathroom has two showers with nice hot water. You can get verizon cell reception by walking over to the firewood shed but no bars at the sites. There is a pay phone in case you remember how to use one. It does have good guest wifi though so lack of cell is no big deal.

Overall nice and quiet. Awesome hiking and mt biking trails all around. Beautiful area close to town.

One of the best state parks near the San Jose area.
Many trails, hikes and other outdoor activities surrounded with many trees.
A good camping spot with advance reservation required.
Multiple car parking spaces to accommodate more people. We saw multiple birthday celebrations and family gathering events.
State parks charge $6 for each car.
We cover 50% of trails walk.

Beautiful park. I felt I was far away from the city. Lots of wild turkeys and deer in the park. Parking is $6 and plentiful. Picnic areas Or you can buy an annual pass for State parks! Shaded trails with redwood trees. Very peaceful. Restrooms are clean and open. Dog friendly ! Will visit again.

I've been here four times now, and I just love seeing how the woods and creeks transform with each season. It's the ideal place for exploring or simply enjoying the redwoods.

A good hiking place near the silicone valley. The trails are mostly shaded and pleasant to hike in summer months. Parking gets difficult because John Nicolas trail is very popular with bikers. Sometimes the trail gets narrow and both bikers and hikers have to be alert crossing each other. One can access the lake ranch reservoir from three directions. The lake has a lot of water right now.

Great hike. We were going to Castle Rock but they don’t allow dogs so the ranger sent us across the street. We took skyline train, nice easy trail. There were several places to stop and climb rocks, at summit rock there is a beautiful view if you are willing to climb up a large rock. The trails are marked and well kept.
We parked at Castle Rock parking lot and walked across hwy 35. Great afternoon hike into the dark. We watched the sunset at the rock.

Absolutely gorgeous and wholesome. Smells good as well. Great views and nice trail design, albeit with fallen trees here and there. This place was my childhood. I love the hikes within the general area and the one up to the reservoir.

Beautiful redwoods, mostly shaded trails perfect for summer hiking. There is parking available for $6 and surprisingly Xfinity/Verizon network works there. It is slightly crowded.

Absolutely perfect park, worth the $6 parking fee. You could park outside along the road and enjoy the same trails, but you car probably won't be as safe and you will miss out on the great/clean bathrooms all with running water and water fountains. The campgrounds looked nice with electric and water, plus lockers for food (to keep the food safe from animals).

The trail was nice and wide with a nice climb. I only went 5 miles but climbed right at 1200 ft. I would highly recommend this park for camping, hiking or even a picnic.

An incredible park and surrounding nature preserve that are easily accessible and provide plenty of challenging or easy hikes, picnic areas, camp sites, and family gathering areas. There's also a venue stage for events, possibly weddings.

Highly recommend the Sanborn Trail Loop, it's challenging and long enough to make you break a sweat and leave you feeling accomplished. Trails and park are dog friendly.

Park entry fee is $6 per vehicle.

Beautiful park that is well maintained and isn't over-crowded. The entry fee at the time of this writing (2/1/22) is only $6 per vehicle. They also offer camping and RV hookups. It would be an amazing place to gather a few friends to grill up on their bring your own charcoal grills!

A beautiful gem in Saratoga. Sanborn County Park is an awesome little park with lots of trails to go through. Make sure you carry a bug repellent though, as there are lots of mosquitoes on some trails.
The parking fee is $6 and the parking is ample.
We were also lucky to see some deer in the park.
A relaxing way to spend your time.

Great county park for hiking and picnic with family and friends. Stroller friendly trails. Lots of parking spots. $6 entry fee. Only Visa and master cards accepted. Lot of picnic areas with Barbecue facilities. Lot of fresh air due to large number of trees throughout the park. Highly recommended park for all ages.
