Came here for lunch on a weekday after spending some time admiring cherry blossoms at nearby Hakone garden. We were greeted by the friendly gorgeous owner. We ordered three appertizers and two entrees. Food came quick and they are all tasty. The baked seafood supreme is so delicious. We left full and satisfied. The bill was just $65 for all the fresh seafood and tasty lamp chop. Strongly recommend.

Been here for dinner and lunch on weeknights and and weekends and had a lovely time. The building is old but well-kept, quiet, and elegant. The food is tasty and service is warm. A great place to enjoy a leisurely meal with friends and loved ones. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely exceptional. This restaurant is as much about the excellent food as it is about the experience. Hands down some of the best food I have ever had the privilege of indulging in. The owner personally came to our table and, upon learning it was our first time at her establishment, proceeded to grant us a personal tour of her distinguished, personally arranged formal dining room. She spoke with an air of loving pride about the hand-picked chandelier from Prague and the marvelous painting by a local patron which represents many important people in her life. We watched as she interacted with the other diners as well. It was a tremendous gift to have chosen this place to dine. Every single morsel, from the French Onion Soup and Seafood Crepe to the fresh bread and Chicken Forestiere, was a showcase in beautiful culinary execution. All that we experienced was provided for an extremely reasonable price (much more so than many “cookie cutter” chain restaurants) and delivered with a superior standard of quality. Many thanks for reminding your guests of what life-memory dining is really about. If you like this review, let me know with a thumbs up :)

I loved our entire experience at La Mere Michelle: the food, service, ambience, and even the French music they were playing.

I have literally walked by this place many many times and never had a chance to stop and dine,
This time I was able to visit and I'm glad I did it.
The door is a portal to the past, a well kept dated restaurant is clean and well organized.
The owner, a lovely elder lady is proud of telling you all about the history of the establishment.
Once visited by the wealthy and famous, it was the place to be!
The dishes are a delightful jump in the past, curated with love and we'll assembled to satisfy both look and flavor.
I had the pate of venison and duck liver and the wiener schnitzel, together with a lovely Beaujolais.
Both very very delicious.
I will be back for sure.

I have been coming here for years, when time and funds allow. Not only have I always appreciated the cuisine, but most of all I have to compliment the staff. Mark and the front of the restaurant servers have never failed to make me and my guests feel welcome and comfortable. And it is a great day on the days when Chef Mark is feeling creative. If you're fortunate enough, sometimes you get a sample. Formal enough to be upscale, but comfortable enough for you to still feel at home.

I have been eating here since the 70's. Chef Marc is excellent. I read the mixed reviews and simply don't understand why people didn't tell their waiter how they would like their food prepared.
Marc has always been responsive to my requests. If you don't like a lot of spices or butter, tell your waiter. They will gladly make it anyway you like. It would be like going to a steak restaurant and not telling your waiter how you would like your meat cooked. I know Marc would like everyone to have a good dining experience.

My favorite dessert it their Grand Marnier Souffles. They can't always make it , but if they do, you won't be disappointed. If you like souffles, order it when you order your entree.

We had a party of 14 and an empty restaurant. My counterparts are…difficult to please. We all had wonderful service, wonderful food and a fantastic ambience on a Saturday night. The reviews here were a little disheartening but I’m so glad we gave it a chance.

La Mere Michelle hosted our wedding reception on Saturday Feb. 29th and it was an amazing night! Chef Marc, Madame Michelle, and their whole team really made this special for us.

We asked our guests to get to the restaurant at 5:30, and they already had a special room all setup for us. I had been working with Marc in the days leading up to the wedding, he was a ton of help. Helped us get the room exactly how we wanted it and was even sending videos of the setup the day before. His great communication and confidence in the success of the night really helped put our nerves at ease.

After our guests visited for a bit and had their wine served to us by a team of their staff, we started off with a delicious wedge salad. It had the perfect balance of Roquefort dressing, bacon, and bleu cheese crumbles. There was even someone going around with fresh cracked pepper offered to each guest! All the salads came out in a timely manner, with the bride and myself the groom being served first. The plates were quickly cleared when guests were done and it was on to the next course.

Each guest was given a choice of a chicken, steak, or salmon dish. What I especially appreciated was that the guests had their orders taken on the spot - none of that needing to pick your option weeks/months ahead of time! Personally I was planning on the salmon, but that night I decided to go with the chicken. These entrees were served traditionally and also came out on time, with no guests having to wait any longer than the amount of time it took to walk back from the kitchen. The wine and water was kept pouring throughout this whole time.

After dinner we were all served champagne for a nice toast and some speeches. The whole dinner, from the moment we arrived, we were waited on by at a minimum three staff. Not like they would wait other tables and come check on us when needed - they were there to help the whole dinner! They were also serving at the bar just outside the room when our guests wanted something different than beer. It was a really nice personal touch to have assistance the whole night. All the staff was nice and friendly, they were talking to us and the guests and added to the conversations but without being too much. Madame Michelle was also making her rounds, talking to the guests and giving us good marriage advice while also making sure everything was as perfect as we expected during this wedding reception.

All in all this was a great place to have our dinner at. Chef Marc handled all the Little Details and provided us some much needed stress relief. The food was delicious, the service top notch, and everything was above and beyond what we expected.

Looking forward to eating here again on our next trip to Saratoga!

By chance, my friend and I found ourselves dining at this restaurant after a restaurant down the street lost our reservations. We went in not expecting much but were pleasantly surprised at what we found. Our waiter was very attentive and the ambiance was charming. We sat next to a flower bed overlooking the street and enjoying a nice breeze from the open windows. We started with a shrimp and shiitake mushroom appetizer. Between the two of us, we licked the plate clean. Next came the most flavorful and aromatic French onion soup I've ever tasted. We did have a salad that was not so inspired, but soon afterward came our main courses. My filet mignon was incredibly tender and cooked precisely how I requested it. My friend's lobster was also cooked perfectly. This is definitely one of our favorite places in the bay, now.

Excellent food and service if you dont mind this being old and traditional restaurant. Nice Pate for appetizer
Also codfishcakes were great. I also recommend liver and onions and eggs Benedict (brunch). For those who like they also have escargots.

Stopped here on the way to Boulder Creek. This is really a charming gem nestled in the middle of Saratoga, CA. The big open windows in the dining room give the ambiance of a patio in the summertime. Seeking just a quick meal, I opted for a delicious cesar salad and french onion soup combo, with some outstansing brewed ice tea to wash it down. What a treat.

Several years ago, my team of software engineers went to La Mère Michelle for a retirement luncheon. My boss, the retiree, decided to order for me when she decided I did not know French foods. The lunch she ordered was the best French food I have ever eaten.

Came here for Valentine's Day a couple years ago, and I remember the food and service were stellar. This place is run by a French couple, and everything here is classic and authentic. LOVE it! I hope to visit again soon.

Great service, cosy surrounds. Good escargot and magret de canard. Also if you ring 24hrs ahead they'll make souffle and canard a l'orange. Will be dining again.

Great service, great food at an outstanding price. While the setting may not be the swankiest, the atmosphere created is one of family and love.
