Love nature ❤.

It is very exposed, but if you have common sense you will bring the necessary items to make your hike enjoyable 😉

Great trails from the trailhead, historic farm house, bathrooms, water fountain, chickens and some days the interpretive center in the barn and the farmhouse are open.

Great place for a hike.. we have trails for different difficulty levels.. also there's a farm in the verbal ranch that kids would enjoy.. the restrooms are very neatly maintained and they are open until sunset.. they do not have dedicated parking but most of the nearby streets have parking..

A lesser known historical park with a lot of interesting history. We enjoyed looking at the ranch house and the surrounding area, and went in search of the bear tree. One of the trees where they tied now-extinct California Grizzlies for the Spanish entertainment of bull-bear fights. There is also a Juan Bautista De Anze historic trail stamp in the barn! This place has trails that access that go into the Santa Theresa County Park.

Really cool trail and park. Starts off steep, but levels out at about .5 mile mark for another .5 mile then kicks up again. This is for the Joice trail.

Beautiful trail, kids and pets friendly. Not too crowded and everyone friendly and wears mask or at least put it on before passing each other.

Tucked away at the back of a residential neighborhood, with no signs indicating its presence until you arrive, this historical park is a hidden gem of South San Jose.

Great for little ones, there's easy walking trails, chickens, ducks and turtles to see.

For the adults, the informational exhibits tell the story of the Ohlone Indians and ranch life from the 1700s through today.

José Bernal and his family converted this land from cattle ranch to orchards. The rich soil from the slaughtering grounds gave rise to the most prolific orchards in the region. It's always fascinating to learn about our local history!

Bernal Ranch and Santa Teresa County Park have a little bit of everything. There is a historic ranch house and barn with chickens. One can take a very easy walk to the turtle pond or hike and or bike to the old Buck Norred Stables. Trails lead to the top of Santa Teresa Park and into Almaden Valley. During the rainy season you can hike to the water fall. On just about every visit expect to see some wild life, deer and turkeys are most common but I have seen coyotes, rattle snakes and bobcats on occasion. In seasons other than the cold days of winter you'll see as many as 20 turtles in the pond. Don't forget the movies in the barn and Santa at the Ranch every December. This is another Blossom Valley Gem!

We love the hiking trails that start from here going into Santa Teresa County Park. There's a steep climb to start but very rewarding when you can look back over San Jose and surrounding hills.

Beautiful views! Rough (for me as I'm a little out of shape) uphill climb at the start.

Good hike for those looking for an elevated view to get their steps. Right now, due to the recent rains, there's a couple of muddy paths which need to be side-stepped, but otherwise passable. Make sure your shoes have grip going up or down so you don't slip.

This is a nice quiet park where you can sit in nature, eat your snack, be in a historical ranch space and go for a hike. I have taken my kids here and they love it!

Climb up the hill for some amazing views of the bay. It's about 500' gain to the bench but continues higher afterwards

Finally a new member showed up.
Update: Just heard that he was found as a stray chicken. Now he got another new home. The nest will be renovated. Expecting more chickens by the end of 2022.
