AJ's Chevron Mart & Car Wash

This is not your typical gas station market, and it's wonderful. The breakfast burritos are the best in town. I get one with beef chorizo. No potatoes. Add onions, peppers, and jalapeños. For only $6, it's a great deal, be sure to leave a tip. They've also got a good selection of freshly brewed coffee in the morning. Lots of fancy beers and health food as well as a pretty decent produce market. The butchers behind the counter are pleasant and cook the menu well. The woman working the register this morning was cheerful, made small talk easy, and handled the transaction quickly. If it's on your way to work, stop in and grab breakfast for a treat.

Good fresh meat at the butcher's counter. The whole halal chicken and ground beef were clean and fresh. The staff was helpful. Highly recommend (though I wish the prices were a little cheaper).

I came in the morning and ordered a chicken shawarma not realizing they were only doing breakfast still. They made me a shawarma wrap anyway.

I ordered the hamburgers cooked medium. Surprise, they were perfect. Large portions ( I only had room for half) with great flavor. Onion rings were wonderful. I'll be back!

Neighborhood landmark. Great burgers and wraps. Very nice quality meat in the counter, and the prices of the grocery items are not any worse than the major chain grocery stores and often better quality. Love the new produce coolers outside and the great selection of fruits and vegetables.

Best burgers in Aptos, hands down my favorite. These guys have awesome selection of local and organic products. A Kick ass deli with everything made fresh to order, really good salads and sandwich's.

I am a 40 year resident of Santa Cruz county and I find this market/grill to be the best in the county! When my wife and I travel to other parts of the state dining in restaurants, we find ourselves comparing the quality, portions, pricing, and service of this great place. AJ 's is simply the best! If I could give it a higher rating than 5 stars, I would be delighted to do so. Keep up the great work AJ!

AJ's is my go-to. I'm a little bias because That, the owner's brother, is the father of my childhood best friend. But that's not why I am writing this review. I am writing is specifically to acknowledge a particular employee, Sunny. Sunny is always friendly, helpful, and goes the extra mile. My interactions with him make shopping at AJ's an easy and pleasant experience. Thanks!

The best falafel in town! Great burgers, fries and gyros, too. The mini market stocks gourmet foods, halal meats, foodie staples and interesting international offerings. They make the most of their wee square footage - truly a gem!

AJs looks like a chevron station with a car wash and it is.... but SO MUCH MORE! it is a top end market, leaning towards Top of the Line products and great service. A small deli/grill in the back always satisfies any appetite. And it's the only local source I've found for halel meat. Good people, products and services.

Love this market. It is super close to my house and it is great because it has SO many things that you might want or need. Plus a meat counter, and hot food like burgers, gyros, and fish and chips. Fresh coffee, grocery items, skincare, rice, fresh produce, wine, beer, LOTS OF different things. It's great.

Visited this place very often. Best mini-mart I've ever been to. I can't think of a reason to go anywhere else for anything. Its basically a miniature grocery store, but I've found things there I can't at safeway. The staff are always very friendly and prices are always either decent or the best. Stop by and have a gyro! You won't regret it!

Good car wash

AJ is a true old school business owner. It’s hard to find owners like him these days. I grew up in the neighborhood right around the store. I remember when AJ bought the gas station/ garage. He truly cares about his community. To see what the gas station was and what he has done to it now is awesome.
The products he carries in the store/meat market, to the food service, and his commitment to the community makes him a 5 star location.
