Folks - remember this is a KOA. It is not really camping if you’re a lover of the great outdoors. There are tons of kids, motor homes and noise. That being said, if you’re looking for a KOA where they give you at least a small amount of breathing room, this is your spot. The place is kept very clean, especially considering how many people are there daily. The pool is great (except the blaring country music - not cool), activities for kids are super fun, petting zoo is adorable, bathrooms and showers are clean and stocked. It’s just a great way to get out of town for the weekend and kick back by a fire. Take it for what it is and you’ll love it.

*edited to respond to the owner - my comments were never meant to insult in any way. The campground is great! Just want to make sure folks know they’re not going backwoods camping. And the redwood area is beautiful. Great spot, we will be back again soon for sure!

We enjoyed our stay at KOA Petaluma. We stayed in a lodge. It was so cozy and cute. It’s very clean there. We will definitely be back.

Stayed three nights and really enjoyed this KOA. Even though our first site was too small, getting another was no problem.. Can't comment on the amenities because I didn't use them but the campground is huge and has a large number if cabins. Sites were private and level and had nice decks and furniture. The VIP daily tank empty was awesome. Close to many Sonoma and Napa Valley locals.

Loving this place.
Did not expect it to be so nice.
The RV sites are awesome - all have lovely concrete patios (stamped to look like wood). very well maintained grounds with mature bushes and trees everywhere. Huge!! playground. Fenced off-leash area for the dogs. Bocce ball. A large tented area with couches and propane fire pit tables…where you can watch a movie on a big screen or wine taste or socialize. Very clean modern shower/bathroom/laundry buildings. The pool is big but apparently not heated (we were here in December so did not affect us).
They’re is a big petting farm with the cutest healthy happy donkeys, goats, etc.
The main office convenience store is stocked full of anything you might need. The staff is A+
I know people have made comments about farm or cow smells, in December there was nothing we could detect.
Cons: the showers in the Rec building do not have much pressure so it was hard to get rinsed off and to ever feel warmed up (probably not an issue in the summer but in the winter…. Brrrr).
Wi-fi is the usual for camping/rv resorts.
That’s it….everything else was great. I would honestly stay longer.

Highly recommended this park! Large park with pretty rv sites, little cabins, tent sites, and quite a few amenities and a K9 park. The owners were very accomodating when we had to move parks last minute and got us in a site same day. They also watched out for us during some nasty weather in Petaluma.
Minus that weather, we really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely come back to this park on our next run to Sonoma County!

We are local to the area and wanted a fun place to stay for our son's birthday weekend. Upon arrival, our site was not the site that was originally booked. Andrea handled our check-in process and she went over the top to make sure that we got into the site that was preferred. She had a great attitude and continued to impress us the way she carried herself and how accommodating she was for us. Once we pulled up to our spot, we were even more thankful that she was able to move us around because it was an amazing end cap spot with patio, fireplace, swing chair, and a great little grass patch. We made a point to go and chat with her the next day just thanking her for her hospitality! As the week went on we met her husband Mike who was also a joy. He was incredibly friendly and my boys made great friends with him when he would drive around the property. He even spent some extra time getting to know us and our Labs we brought camping. It is not often that you book a campground where the staff makes a huge impact on your stay. The team that KOA has in place at this location is amazing and it really brought a whole other level to our stay at the campground. Thank you again Andrea and Mike! Hope to see you both again real soon.

We have done Halloween camping here 3-4x and each year has been a blast for all ages, but especially kids. There are so many activities for the kids, so much to see and do, there is never a dull moment, and the kids can just run wild and have a GREAT time. It feels well run, well maintained, and very safe. There is a giant bouncy blob, a petting zoo, face painting, T-shirt tie-dyeing, a store, and new this year, a cute lil good truck!! There are several cute towns nearby, several breweries and wineries .. truly something for everyone.

The campground is large and is beautifully landscaped throughout the park. The laundry room has commercial 2 and 3 load washers. You do need to use an app but it is super easy and convenient…think not having to have quarters to poke into a machine! There was a dog park, swimming pool, large screen TV under the big tent with separate areas to enjoy a fire pit with lots of seating and great rolling hills for walking! The weather was mild…I didn’t want to leave!

Best KOA I have ever been too! This is our favorite spot to stay on our RV weekends. The drive to Bodega from here is perfect. We have 4 kids and the amenities for them are amazing. Lots of things to do here. The park is beautiful and has great structures. The new front desk/store is beautiful! I am so thankful they are here!

I have been to several KOAs and this one was by far the best. Sites were a little tight, especially to get in and out, but not as bad as some I have dealt with. Bathrooms were nice and immaculate, pool was large enough and staff was super friendly. Only request would be increase the temp of the hot tub. If I ever visit the area again, I will definitely stay here.

This was our first visit to the Petaluma KOA. We were greated by the attendants who guided us into the camp. Upon entering the office we were given directions to our site and wristbands for everyone in our party. The wrist bands had our site number along with gate and restroom codes which allowed us access to all the amenities. This KOA is primarily cashless meaning anything you purchase is charged to your site. I found this to be very convenient since I wasn't running around with my wallet the whole time. There were movies every night and ice-cream was available. Each site had a nice fire pit for making those s'mores. The pool was very large and if I am not mistaken was saltwater. On Saturday there was a DJ at the pool all day. Also you could tie-die t-shirts and the kids could rock climb and water slide. There were two stores on site and at least two laundry rooms. And lastly there was a nice sized playground for the kids. I loved the fact this was a secure park for only guest who were staying there. Overall I give this place five stars. We will be back.

Our time at KOA Petaluma Campground was a delightful escape. The staff's friendliness set the tone for a great stay. While we didn't explore all the amenities, knowing they were available added to the experience. The store and pool seemed inviting, and the thought of hayrides and a petting farm added a charming touch for the kids.

Although we didn't indulge in the rock wall climbing, jumper, or mining station, the kids' excitement was palpable. Clean bathrooms, laundry facilities, and well-kept surroundings were reassuring.

The outdoor spaces, including the kitchen, bocce ball court, corn hole, and basketball court, spoke of endless fun possibilities. They had a outdoor movie featuring Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory while we were there. We don't have a dog but we noted the dog park was used by so guests can have fun with their furry friends.

KOA Petaluma Campground's potential for enjoyment is evident. The staff's attentiveness and the variety of offerings hint at a great experience. We had some guests join us at our campsite and they staff made that registration process seamless. Our relaxing visit might not have encompassed everything, but it left us with the promise of more to explore on our next camping adventure.

Great time at a great campground. Perfect location, wonderful staff. They deliver firewood and come around daily and clean out your tanks. Can't wait to go back.

Great location close to Petaluma. We stayed here for a week and the section where we were staying had electric and water hookups but no sewer. We were delighted when the staff came around and emptied our gray and black water tanks. The bathrooms and laundry were clean. We did use the hot tub, which was a nice treat. The campground is huge, but we had no issues with noise.

We both work remote jobs and our Starlink had no issues. Will definitely stay here again.

Level shaded sites. Immaculate showers/toilets, fun covered campfire pavilion. Laundry is the only major bummer. No cash or cc accepted. Must use a third party app, which means another app we will infrequently use.

Close enough to Santa Rosa for Tara Bella's Wine Release. They are making improvements throughout the park. It's very nice.
