The new owners are great! The birria tacos and consome were a hit. The consome wasn't watery or oily. It was reduced, thicker than usual and full of flavor. The pupusas were delicious also, the lorocco is always my favorite. Quality cheese is a must. Got the tamales to go, can't wait to make breakfast tamales in the morning.

I wanted to try a different Salvadorean restaurant, loved the name, and did a field trip here for their pupusas. The gentleman serving was really nice, bilingual, of course, and the pupusas came out fast. The curtido was good, but I was really taken back by the greenery surrounding the front of the property. It's a great spot for dates, hangouts, or casual lunch. Don't sleep on the empanadas. 🧀🍮☕🫔

Great family run business. The tortillas are delightful! We also had the pupusa loco which we recommend highly!

Vegan vegetarian friendly. The owners are super nice and the food is incredible. Big portions and outside seating too!

I had pupusas revueltas and bistec encebollado. The pupusas had a very authentic taste they were perfectly cooked. The bistec was juicy and tender with an excellent taste as well. My husband ordered chicken with vegetables. Everything was very fresh. I wanted to try the Salvadoran tamales but they had ran out. The owner was very friendly. Overall everything was excellent. I will be definitely going back.

Recommend calling to place an order if overwhelmed by options online. Ordered for a large group and received generous portions for everyone, along with complimentary chips and salsa. Personally very much enjoyed the birria tacos and veggie burritos (roasted broccoli added nuttiness and crunch). Heard good things from others about the chicken quesadillas. Loved the owner as well, who stayed a few minutes after closing to make sure we got our pickup!

Always drove by this place but never stopped in until yesterday in Vallejo. It's really hard to find a good place to eat and this place did not disappoint. Thank goodness because. Vallejo is disappointing in itself but the family that runs the place is very Friendly and attentive this place is clean And the little outdoor seating is adorable with. Shaded area Beautiful plants and picnic tables ...very Nice atmosphere.... The food was also very delicious, fresh salsa and chips while we waited for our food...I had the carne asada plate the meat was well seasoned and tender,my daughter had a giant carne asada burrito she loved it And hubby had some awesome fish Tacos and quesaberria tacos are Phenomenal!! I was just really surprised that we were the only ones there. I think this place is just overlooked I totally recommend this to anybody that wants some authentic delicious mexican food the michecheladas where also so good!

Love love love this place. The food is amazing and the owner is very social. For being in vallejo he has made it an oasis to dine at. It would be great to see the prices come down. 3 Carne asada tacos come in at about $15. All and all I seriously recommend going here to eat.

Excellent food and outstounding service. We have been coming here for a few years and it never disappoints. Some of the best pastor tacos in the Bay Area. Also we LIVE for the birria tacos and consomé. The papusas are what I first tried here and are always delicious. The food is always hot and fresh and made with care. It’s a family owned business and the couple are so kind and will remember you after a few times. They recently renovated the place and it looks really cute-but honestly the food always speaks for itself so that doesn’t matter to us much. I see people ordering the soup all the time so that’s next on the list of many delicious things to try!

Best veggie burrito I have ever had a restaurant. It's not on the menu just ask for a vegan burrito (veggie burrito, no cheese, no sour cream). It's packed full of grilled veggies, beans and rice with fantastic flavor! Staff is friendly, helpful and cheery. All of the food is beautifully prepared. Highly recommend this gem.

Good Mexican food on our way home. We are so happy we gave this place a shot after reading the reviews. The best Quesadilla I have ever had. So flavorful and delicious! Great Live music and the staff was very hospitable. We definitely will come back when we are in the area.

Authentic Salvadoran food! The food was very delicious. The owner is very knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. The restaurant is clean and airy . This is now my new spot for authentic Salvadoran food

So the first time I visited LaCuchara I did not know that there were two doors (the door I walked to was closed so I thought the place was closed), I was so disappointed I left because I was really craving pupusas.

A couple days later I came back & realized there was a second door that they leave open. Anyways! When I walked in I was surprised to see that the place was not packed. Other than my cousin & I, there was one table of 2. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by a nice man at the cash register.
To my surprise there was more Latin food than I expected from Mexican to Salvadoran. & the prices are reasonable.

We bought about 15 pupusas, 2 sopes, horchata & pineapple juice all for $60. As our order was being prepared, we sipped on our drinks & the nice man give us chips & salsa while we waited. And let me tell you, this salsa was so good & had the perfect kick of spice.

Within 15 mins our food was ready. & it was all worth it. Our family never had pupusas before & they loved it. The only sad thing is we wish we ordered bigger drinks.

If you're in the area, you definitely should not miss this place. It might look like a hole in the wall but the food & customer service speak for itself.
