HopMonk Tavern Sonoma

My wife and I have been here a few times and it has become our go to place in Sonoma! We came here for my birthday and they didn’t disappoint! Great food, great people and great atmosphere! They frequently have live music on the weekends too! Just an all around amazing Brew Pub! Price is right in line with all others.

Great food with a variety of options, along with a wide selection of beers coupled with friendly and efficient service, made for a terrific experience. Pet friendly patio seating was also a plus, along with ample off-street parking.

The foods there are always fresh, flavorful and tasty, the vibes are excellent with indoor and outdoor seatings and live music, the servers are friendly, but the foods take longer time to get ready.

This place is packed for lunch on a Monday. Outdoor patio is amazing with relaxing fountains and plenty of shade. Service and food both top notch. Don’t think there’s a better option for lunch at any price point when going through Sonoma on a weekday afternoon.

This HopMonk location is a favorite. Service is always excellent and helpful.

This afternoon I had the Ruben sandwich. Thinly sliced pastrami on toasted rye bread with sauerkraut and a special house-made sauce that was nicely balanced with a fresh, crisp dill pickle. To swish all these flavors together, I had a seasonal cocktail to drink. “Drunken Punch” made with bourbon and fresh pumpkin purée. Wow! It was yummy and I’m not a fan of pumpkin latte or pumpkin cookies. It wasn’t too sweet, just very flavorful. For dessert I had the bread pudding with an Irish Coffee made with bourbon and fresh whipped cream. Very satisfying! While Sonoma has bars and pubs, this HopMonk is the best in town. I recommend sitting outside on the deck or in the garden patio, especially on a sunny day. Plenty of parking, easy to walk to from the historic plaza. Families are welcome and that includes the canine member of the family.

Amazing food and service! Happy we stopped by on our vacation. If we had more time we definitely would have made another trip! Each meal was amazing with good size portions. There was soo much on the menu we wanted to try. The outside patio was large and enjoyable. We were seated right away and had a wonderful time!

Went here woth some friends and sat at the bar. They had a really nice happy hour drink menu. We all enjoyed our food a lot. The bar tender was attentive and friendly. I'd recommend them for sure, and I'm definitely coming back for more.

HopMonk is a wonderful and charming restaurant with a great outdoor section with music. The place is vibrant welcoming with great service and delicious food. I highly recommend trying the beer flight, which is not mentioned on the menu. Their beer selection is really great.

Love eating here when we're visiting in CA. Food is always very good. Service is great. Nice outdoor seating. I'd recommend.

This place is great for groups. The service is great, all of the staff were super kind and attentive. The food is great for the price and the atmosphere is incredibly chill. There’s outdoor and indoor seating, we were able to sit outside very comfortably with 8 people. They also have a wide variety of drinks available which is awesome! I highly recommend this place.

Awesome staff! Our waitress Lauren was extremely nice, and helped the people I was with answer some questions about the area. We had a great time, the food was amazing. Highly recommend going here, everyone was very happy with what they got and really nice seating outside.

Enjoyed our dinner here. All of the food was quite good (gem lettuce salad, risotto, calamari, sweet potato fries, and goat cheese stuffed squash blossoms), and a nice selection of brews (albeit a bit pricey) on tap.

Went for dinner and to listen to some live music. Sat outside and loved the whole vibe. Everyone was so friendly and we met some great locals. Put this on your list of dining options when in the sonoma area.

Great place to eat. I had the spicy fried chicken sandwich, which was awesome. They pound the chicken flat and then bread it, so it's like schnitzel. Wife got the quinoa salad, which she said was perfect. Plenty of outdoor seating in a beer garden setting. Parking lot is small, but there's plenty of street parking.

We booked HopMonk for a welcome event for all our guests the night before our wedding. Working with their team to schedule and plan the event was so easy and stress free. The event itself was amazing! The outdoor space was so cute, the food was amazing, the staff were all super friendly and helpful, the live musician was excellent, and the whole night was perfect. Thank you so much to everyone who brought it together and can’t wait to come back one day soon!

Great outdoor dining area, nice seat spacing. Good beer, great food, friendly and efficient wait staff. I cant wait to come back and try some of the other beers and dishes on offer.
Its been a few weeks since i last visited and while I didn't post about it before I had the Ruben a while back and it was very good, half the sandwich was more than enough for one sitting, and of course the standard by which to judge a good Ruben is does it reheat well or serve well cold the next day. I'd say the hopmonk Ruben passes that test.

Tonight I had the war pretzel, and the fish and chips. I don't think I've ever had such beery cheese dib before, it was delicious, and while I won't speak to the quality of the coleslaw I will say that the fish with tartar sauce was really good.

Keep it up hopmonk and ill keep coming back for more.

We attempted to get a table here on a Saturday night with no reservation. I saw a good line off to the side and was initially dreading what the wait time could be, but the hostess was amazing! Turns out the line was for outdoor seating and she was able to seat us immediately inside. I could see the appeal of the patio area (pretty lights, live music) but inside was great too. Food 10/10, service was just as good.
