I feel like I lucked out while in Sonoma for 24 hours because everywhere I ate was SO GOOD. Stopped at TG&TF for lunch and it was excellent!
Had the grilled cheese which was delicious. And the chips served with dishes are the best I’ve ever had!
Friendly staff and was easy to walk in at lunch without a reservation.

I recently dined at this charming restaurant, and it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere was incredibly cosy, making me feel right at home. The friendly staff added to the welcoming ambiance, providing impeccable service throughout the meal. The food was nothing short of amazing, with each dish boasting perfect taste and presentation. It's no wonder the place was bustling with lots of people, as it's clearly a favorite among locals and visitors alike. If you're looking for a place with great food, a warm atmosphere, and a friendly vibe, this restaurant is a must-visit!

Came here during a first time visit to the Napa/Sonoma area and this place was highly recommended. We were able to get a relatively last minute reservation online for a party of 4, for 5:30pm.
The food standouts for me were the duck liver mousse, flounder, and mussels.
The steak in the steak frite was ordered medium rare but it was close to medium well.
Lastly, you can bring your own wine here!

Stopped in for dinner and sat outside which gave us a great view of the square and made for good people watching. The shrimp roll was one of the BEST sandwiches I’ve ever had. It was lighter tasting and delicious. The Tartine was also amazing! Highly recommend!

Friday night and the place was cranking! I snuck in at the end of the bar for dinner without a reservation after wine tasting all day, easy when you're a party of one. The very busy bartender was pleasant, attentive, kind to his team and a great host. I went straight for the food and it came out quickly and perfectly timed. I had enough to take some with me and I was on my way. I would return for another full belly of easy, no fuss food.

Been here twice for brunch and sat outside in the patio. Weather was nice. Food was excellent and the service was efficient. I shared the egg sandwich and the pork belly hash. They come around an offer, freshly ground black pepper on your food.

I was very happy that they offered decaf espresso cocktails.

They brought a candle lit cookie for a birthday at our table.

Bathrooms are towards the back of the patio.

Street parking was very easy because we came early at 10am on a Sunday. By the time we left, there were not too many spots left. The restaurant also let us be seated early as our original reservation was at 11 AM.

Restaurant that specializes in American food with a fig twist. They have a 3 course meal menu that rotates every Thursday.

Crispy chicken livers ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: really unique combo of fried livers, jam, and aioli. Creamy with the fried livers as a contrasting texture.

Bay scallops ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: seared scallops on a bed of risotto and butternut squash. Risotto is cooked perfectly with a good bite, and the sauce has a nice buttery flavor. Scallops are also cooked perfectly.

Steak tartare ⭐⭐⭐⭐: well seasoned but has a strong acidic bite from the capers inside the tartare.

Wild flounder meunière ⭐⭐⭐⭐: soft tender flounder on a bed of mashed potatoes, spinach, and topped with capers. Overall, it is very rich and buttery for a fish dish.

Duck confit ⭐⭐⭐⭐: duck confit served on top of lima beans and carrots. Overall done very well but is similar to a lot of other duck dishes out there. Duck comes easily off the but is slightly stringy.

Artisan bread ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: soft bread served with whipped butter and salt.

Virgin pimms ⭐⭐⭐⭐: minty cucumbers acidic nonalcoholic drink. Very refreshing but pretty strong minty/leafy flavor.

Banana nut bread pudding ⭐⭐⭐⭐: not the biggest fan of banana desserts, but it's pretty mild, and the toasted walnuts are the main flavor. Pudding is a bit more on the bready side but isn't dry at all and has a little bit of caramelized crunch.

Pear and cranberry galette ⭐⭐⭐⭐: galette topped woth a jammy cooked(?) mix of cranberries and pears topped with vanilla ice cream. Solid dessert but personally not the most memorable taste wise.

I came here for lunch on a weekend and really enjoyed the flat iron steak. It comes with fries and delicious blue cheese butter. I usually don’t like blue cheese, so you may like it if you’re the same way.

Parking is difficult during the weekend. Don’t bother spending too much time looking for a parking spot. Instead, park for free at “Arnold Field”, a nearby park with a big parking lot.

This place is good! I sat at the bar, the bartender was nice and made a great whiskey sour! The beef tartar, flounder were great but the scallops were FN amazing!

Sweet place with a well rounded menu. We had the steak tartar, brussel sprouts with smoked pork belly (recommended), duck confit (offered as single or double leg). There was a chocolate trifle that the English in me would call a delicious chocolate mousse.

Loved the duck confit! The muscles were so good I had the broth like soup. The shrimp salad stole the show for me though!

I love this restaurant and have brought friends here many times throughout my life in California. The nice atmosphere, the delicious food, and friendly staffs/ bartenders. What else do you need? If you come during lunch time, try the strawberry salad and the crispy pork belly sandwich. If you come during dinner, try duck confit and the pork chop. Yes pork chop is recommended by the bartender and it is very good. Juicy and flavorful. Oh, and get the cookies back home. Reheat it until the chocolate melt and the cookie becomes soft at the center. It is heavenly!

If you’re looking for a unique wine country experience, that is contemporary Sonoma, go to The Girl & The Fig. It’s small but quaint and offers an original menu selection. I like pate, especially duck pate. Usually in the specialty markets, packaged duck pate is mixed with pork, chicken and or beef. This pate served at The Girl & The Fig was all duck pate. Oh! Wow! What a delightful difference. It’s like going from chocolate pudding to exquisite chocolate mousse. Seriously, it was that outstanding! Salads at The Girl & The Fig are yummy! Cocktails here are also original and scrumptious. I must say that I have not eaten at The Girl & The Fig for a full dinner. I will have to go back sometime soon and have a full dining experience. Up until now It’s only been cocktails, hors d’oeuvres or charcuterie with a glass of excellent wine.
Sitting outside sidewalk bistro style I recommend, definitely on a sunny day or a warm evening. The Girl & The Fig are at the heart of the plaza so be prepared to be in the midst of it all. Service and staff are excellent. Yet when busy please be patient. Street parking is limited. Call ahead or visit the website for details.

Wow I was so delighted to have this meal. I got the lemon caper trout layered atop garlicky spinach and soft, buttery potatoes. I loved how lemony the base sauce was and I’m always hyped for fresh bread. This is truly a great place if you’re looking for flavor and filling, long lasting lightness especially if you’re there to enjoy wine country. You need food that’ll fill you while not making you sleepy. The service was in point as well.

Incredibly fresh ingredients and thoughtful recipes. Waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful, specifically on wine pairings. The environment was classy but casual.

Had a great dinner here after a day full of wine tasting. We tried many things on the menu & they were all delicious. The duck confit is a must & the salad was a nice pairing. If you have room for dessert, the chocolate chip cookies and milkshake were amazing! The place does get busy, would recommend making a reservation.

We chose to sit outside... please make an reservation
Maddie was our server on this beautiful Monday June 19th 2023. She didn't know what she was getting into while we sat down at our table on its patio. She's a great asset to your establishment I give her five stars for her service.

My fiancé and I agreed that it was the best dinner out we’ve had in a long time. We started with the Brussel sprouts and mussels. My fiancé had the duck confit and I had the scallops. All absolutely incredible. The cocktails we great as well as the service.

One of my favorite spots in Sonoma. The flounder is magnificent, so are their cookies and everything else.
