It may take one hot minute getting to realize this, but Paul and wife are genuinely lovely people. Sorry I don't know your first name ma'am, but Mr. and Mrs. Singh, thank you for being you. Much respect. (I adore that the missus can swear like the best of any group of sailors.)

Good honest folks. They have many food items and they are close by. They have dog and cat food and litter.

We have been customers for many years & the store is always clean & well organized & the proprietors friendly & helpful. Prices are in-line with smaller stores, very affordable considering that if you need just a few items it's more convenient & affordable considering the time it takes to go to a larger store.

II've been shopping there for 15+ years, live right at the top of the Butte St Stairs, just off of Kentucky Street, & they are just off of Butte @ & Tennessee Sts. The propritors, Ruby & Paul, joined now by their adult son. We have watched him grow from a young, fairly small lad to his are great people & friendly. Don't try to steal anything though, I've seen Ruby run right out the door, (this included several feet from behind the counter), when she spotted a 'customer' stealing something. I'm fairly certain qthat either the 'criminal' dropped his Ill gotten good(s) or she caught him.
Last summer I had purchased a couple of items, while paying with my Debit card, the machine suffered a glitch & didn't want to work correctly. Paul, (husband), cancelled, (he thought), the transaction, re-rang my purchase, all went smoothly & I went on my way. A month or so later, I was buying something, again, when Paul asked me to wait while he made a sale, I did. He asked me to wait a minute. Longer story, a bit shorter, Paul pulled out a receipt box, while recalling that day..."Yes" I said. Paul said when he closed that night the register didn't balance & he immediately recalled that glitch. The Credit card machine had charged my card 2x's. Handing me a length of blank register tape, white w/the yellow one, asking me to write down what transpired that evening, what happened that Thursday, the why's & where for's & to sign & date it. Handing the pieces of paper to him & thinking my card would be credited, I bid my farewell I began to walk away. " Wait, wait!" he says, opened the register, counted out the amount of my over charge & explained that note I wrote wasv saying it wasvfor the owner. Regardless, I have always, in the 20+ plus yrs of being a customer, I never once thought they were less than 100% honest. We don't go as often as we did simply because, I'm proud to say, that I'm coming up on 6 months tobacco free!
Bottom line regarding 5 Point Liquors, Paul, Ruby & now their oldest, a very tall son, early 20's (I'd guess) is working there quite regularly. It's a good neighborhood store that isn't seen much of any longer.

I love this store Abe and his wife is family I use to live down that way for many years i miss them.
