Lake Sonoma Tasting Room

This place is a gem for great conversations and some excellent wine choices. The staff was knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. The courtyard ambiance is a great experience.

I held a private event here and the staff was wonderful! Parking can be a little tricky, but if you go in through the address of the building as opposed to the Plaza side, they have parking spots there. They have comfy outdoor couches and a room for a private group (I used the whole space).

We got a friendly lady serving us this fine Friday. Great shaded outdoor. Inside alley, no traffic noise even if your close to where you park your car which is a convenience when you have kids. Did I mentioned kid, this joint is kid and doggie friendly-- biscuit and water bowl for the 4-legged baby

This place is tucked away slightly from Sonoma Plaza, but such a fun and comfortable vibe! We sat out on the patio and Rita helped us. She was great at making suggestions on what I should try based on what I told her I liked. I purchased a couple bottles of the wines I liked. Compared to other wineries around the plaza, their wine is very reasonable.

This was one the finest wine tasting experience we’ve had. The wine was pretty good but talking to Jack was the highlight of our experience. Thanks Jack for making our wine tasting experience a memorable one!

Absolute GEM! Great wine but best of all was Jack. Most charming man we’ve met in ages and he made our trip. We’d come back just to have a chat with him (but of course to drink more wine)

I can't say enough about this winery! We had the best time. The wines were fantastic and we appreciated the staff recommendations, they were spot on! The charcuterie boards were to die for. But most of all, the staff were amazing! Very friendly and down to earth, superb service. They were short staffed that day but we would have never guessed it! We'll definitely be coming again next time we're in Sonoma.

Had a great experience at this small local winery! We’re from out of state and wanted an authentic experience. The hostess was incredible, detailing each wine we tasted, offering an extra tasting at the end, giving generous pours, and even giving local food recommendations for after our visit. Would definitely visit again!

Off the main Sonoma square in a hidden alleyway. It is a cozy space with a laid back staff. Very welcoming and an enjoyable place to go and enjoy your company and new wine! The blend and the rose were my favorites! They had many different outdoor seating options as well.

We showed up pretty close to closing and they welcomed us in for a drink. They were super friendly and not annoyed that we stopped by while waiting for a reservation at a restaurant nearby. Definitely coming back for a tasting next time we're in town!

We love coming here! It’s so warm and inviting! Kelly & Kristina are such fun! All the wines are very approachable and well worth trying. If you are in the area... I definitely recommend stopping by!

Aside from the wine being wonderful, Noemi has been a gem that always brings us back. She's friendly, attentive, has the best music playlist and pays attention to detail. The hours have shortened to 7pm closing time (as of 10/10/20) with the hope that they'll go back to 9pm soon. The vibe of this tasting room is the best.

Slightly on the pricey side for the tastings but an incredible setting! We did the tasting and then split a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. They have fire pits at each table you can do your tasting at so even when it’s cold out it’s still perfect.

We were lucky enough to have a lunch waiter who shared with us what he called, "the best kept secret on the Sonoma Square." Make a right down the driveway, just past the Sign of the Bear, and you'll find a unassuming tasting room with wonderful wines and a nice outdoor patio on which to enjoy them. And we did!

We strolled down the lane to Lake Sonoma Winery Tasting Room and were greeted by Kelly who, as it turns out, is Tasting Room Manager, ... and we could see why. What a cheerful and personable host she is. As she got our small group of four seated the charming deck/patio she explained the tasting menu and its choices. We kinda mixed and matched our Tasting choices which was no challenge to Kelly.

I preferred the Reserve Tasting. I could tell that it would suit me best, and I was right. I enjoyed the Valley of the Moon Chardonnay. I don't care for buttery oaky Chardonnays, but I relaxed a bit when Kelly promised me that it was crisp and bright. I loved it.

For reds, I loved the Valley of The Moon Reserve. It is a rich and reverent blend of Malbec and Petit Verdot. These are classically two wines used to perfect other varietals but in this case they were seamlessly matched with only one another.

Next, some of us had the Pinot Noirs. There were four of us, so we each tried (and passed) one of them. It was kind of a blind tasting, and two of them came out as favorites. Of course I favored the 2018 Valley of The Moon. You can enjoy this right now without failing the "wait" test, but it will age nicely and soften up a little, if you like. Get two. Do it both ways. The next up favorite for the group is the 2016. It has all the classic Pinot Noir notes and appealed well to all of us.

But what really sold us the bottles of wine at the end of the tasting was the totality of the package. Kelly is a fine host and an artfully subtle wine educator. The slightly-off-the-beaten-path quiet location and outdoor comfort (or indoor, if you like), and the uncrushed charm all made for the perfect afternoon. The wines sold themselves, as well. We have ours at home, each with a story, waiting for just the right moment. Maybe this weekend.

Fantastic reds. Beautiful atmosphere. Kaitlyn was funny, knowledgeable and accommodating. Bought a few wines plus merch!

This place has great rosé and an awesome patio!! Loved lounging here in the sun and shade with a bottle of wine. Definitely recommend! Would be great at night with a cool breeze and the fire pits

Great hidden gem! Nice Service... Took us as a walk-in. The Pinot-Gris & Viognier mix 2018 was a great surprise. Must stop by.
