The Historic District of Santa Rosa allows you to step back in time and observe the way things used to be in a simpler, yet magnificent era. Architecture of a bygone time period still stands to be enjoyed by a new generation. The Hotel La Rose is a great example. There are many shops in the area. Some great antique stores are to be found. There are also many restaurants to choose from. The SMART Train stops in the District and is a great way to spend the day.

Beautiful decor! Terrific service, great wine and they had a Classical Guitarist. So relaxing!

The historic district is a lovely place to take a walk. Grab a coffee at Flying Goat Coffee and if you are hungry stop in at Chevys for delicious Mexican food. Be sure to stop at the visitors center across the street. They have friendly people there who will tell you all about the Valley. We picked up some 2 for 1 wine tastings and other coupons while there. There is also a delicious Italian restaurant, an antique mall and other stores along 4th st. Be sure to check out the Historic hotel around the corner and eat breakfast at the Omelette

I absolutely love Railroad Square. I always have. I used to hang out here as a teenager and in my twenties. Since then, though, it has really grown up. Most of the old hostoric brick buildings have been restored and repurposed. The place has been cleaned up and made into a real attraction. Lovely place. I don't personally care for the Smart Train, though. I think it is a good idea that was poorly executed. Just one man's opinion.

Nice place to stroll around even if you're not into Peanuts. Nice coffee shops too.

The restaurants were closed with the exception of "Aroma Roasters." Nice selections of food items and beverages that are moderately priced. The staff is friendly and efficient. The establishment is casual and cozy. If you are looking for a relaxing dining experience "Aroma Roasters" at Railroad Square in Santa Rosa is what you are looking for.

This is a great location to walk around. There are coffee shops, inexpensive restaurants, and the excellent Welfare League Thrift Shop that always has surprises and runs to support local charities.

Was at Grossman's, love this place. We go every Sunday morning. Our server Mollie is the best and Nate the bartender is awesome.

I loved going in, they have information of probably every single destination to visit in Sonoma County, some other destinations on San Francisco, and the neighbor counties.
Either if you are a visitor or live in the area You Should Definitely Visit This Place. I

This is one of my favorite parts of Santa Rosa. There is so much there, so much diversity and community. This was the transportation hub of all of Sonoma County and it will hopefully be more important again once the SMART Trains start actually carrying people. It was were much of the commerce took place for the entire County. While it is not the hub it once was, it is still culturally and economically important. It has fine energy and perfect examples of great local business, like the West End Farmers Market, Toad in the Whole Pub, The Arlene Francis Center and Bike Monkey and not so great. It is a hub of small businesses taking part in keeping things happy and healthy while making a living and with the perhaps necessary accents of big goofy Corp Business that is the antithesis of what make this place special!

I love Railroad Square. It's an odd mix of touristy yet mostly historical for the locals. If you're looking for a small town feel on a staycation or visiting from abroad and want to experience the soul of Santa Rosa, this is the place to soak it in.

Railroad Square is definitely beautiful and has that old small town feel to it. If you take a closer look around you'll notice the big redwood trees, old can on the rooftop, various Peanuts cartoon statues and more! During the summer they have many events there ranging from classic car shows to the Wednesday night market.

Super clean streets, safest I've felt at any downtown. Make sure to visit "Shady Oaks bar" for great beer!
