Third Street Barbell 3SB

I've been going to this place for over a year, and it's been a transformation. I'm significantly older and significantly weaker than the average gym member, but everyone's been very welcoming and enthusiastic. I'm also a runner, who discovered a need to lift weights after aches and pains accumulated to the point that I couldn't run more than 3 miles without some kind of knee/foot/ankle issue. After a year of 3xWeek practice to compliment my running, I'm happy to say that those pains are gone. It's a real testament to the power of the body to heal itself--with a bit of heavy lifting.

Awesome gym. One of the only gyms I’ve seen that perfectly blends the raw feeling of a strength gym with a friendly, clean, and professional finish. Only strength gym I’ve been to with 3 showers- 5 stars all day.

Amazing gym with great equipment and a great community.
I’ve been working with Avi (Head strength coach) since November 2022. No gimmicks, just the best no bs coaching I’ve received in over 5 years of working with strength coaches. She’s big on form and technique and even since moving to her online coaching, I’m still receiving top level coaching.
The community is growing and you’ll want to drink the kool aide too!

This is the nicest looking and CLEANEST gym I’ve ever been to. There is so much natural light and huge roll up doors throughout the facility so it always feels airy and open. The equipment is brand new and top quality. Great for all levels of training experience. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. 24/7 access available, too. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Out of town powerlifter looking for a place to lift while here for the Fourth of July weekend. Came across this gem of a place. Great quality equipment, lots of open light, cool and chill vibe from the owners and members.

Very clean facility with great atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell just how much attention to detail went into this place and how much the owners worked to create a high quality environment that feels like home. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a top notch gym in the Sacramento area.

New gym in downtown Sacramento with great vibes. Having only gone to commercial gyms, this was a huge change up. Everyone here is very friendly, the owners are always around to chat, and the equipment is very nice. Whether you’re barely starting off lifting or you’ve been lifting for a while, this gym is a fantastic place to be.

Great place, clean, friendly staff and prompt responses to questions. Environment is welcoming and open to anyone at any training level. Layout of the gym is open and not over crowded like most allowing you to focus on yourself. Even the logo is welcoming!

A brand new gym with the kind of atmosphere you want for a local gym. Everyone is very welcoming and supportive, and the owners are always around to chat with, no smoke and mirrors! Highly reccomend checking out as the first day ia free as well. Support your local establishments!

Great environment, people, and vibe. The layout is amazing!! Unique combo of sleek and modern w/ antique(can’t think of better word to describe haha). Not to mention the BATHROOMS. I don’t think I have ever seen a powerlifting gym w/ a bathroom that looks like you have stepped into a luxury hotel. Highly recommend.

2020 is looking up with the opening of 3rd Street Barbell. The owners used some elbow grease to make this the most aesthetic looking gym and they also have top quality equipment. The space is clean, they offer masks and there is hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes located throughout the facility. They have worked hard to create something special and it shows. Good company is the mantra and you will definitely get that here!!

This gym is an awesome place to train at if you're in the Sacramento area. Plenty of squat racks, deadlift platforms, and bench presses for the powerlifters out there as well as the basics for some accessories. The staff are also very friendly and helpful!

you want to talk about phenomenal experience and vibes all around, this gym has it. this is the greek temple of powerlifting gyms. my first time here, i spent like 3 hours there because i wanted to appreciate every second and every equipment i could. what silent mike & everyone has built at 3rd street barbell is beyond incredible! although i don’t live in sacramento, im definitely going back as it is worth the commute!

3SB Staff - Mike, Jim, Kyle & Connor have accumulated decades of strength experience and knowledge to share with the City of Sacramento. To put it under one roof and share with us the experience and care that goes into the world of Strength and Conditioning is a blessing for the community. This gym just opened up. It is in a great location in midtown. The owner and employees are extremely professional and knowledgeable about fitness. Also, their playlist is dope. It’s just the beginning but I’m certain they have awesome things prepared for the future.

It's an outstanding gym that is well equipped to house all powerlifters, Olympic weightlifters, and bodybuilders alike. They've got 6 adjustable hook and spotter arm squat racks, 2 competition combo racks, 4 competition benches and many platforms that are big enough for the Olympic lifts and normal deadlifts.

The atmosphere in this gym is 👌🏼. The music is always awesome and the staff are super friendly. 100/10 would recommend.
