My local office has always been very helpful and understanding as I have navigated the waters of starting my own business. During the last two years of the pandemic I caught covid on multiple occasions and fell behind on my paperwork. I am also autistic so sometimes "normal" tasks feel like climbing a mountain to me. I have always felt that the representatives whom contacted me to help me get up to speed were quite nice and pleasant to deal with, as well as very helpful with getting me to understand some of the tax details I was not familiar with. Now I have a book keeper to help me. Just saw all of these negative reviews as I don't have the DOR page bookmarked and wanted to put my 2cents in. I think we can all have better interactions with each other in all aspects of life by being more humble and understanding of others.

I've had hit and miss interactions with the Washington Department of Revenue over the years. I'm happy to have worked through some business financial issues with them, but I wasn't always able to find someone who knew the processes they were hired to oversee. I'd have to go above their heads regularly, which was fine in the end, but people should know their jobs better to be able to serve the public. If I had not been persistent and just did what the entry level employees knew about, I would have missed opportunities that later saved me over $30,000.

So at best it is a 50/50 shot at getting a person with collection agency skills or a zen master to talk with, so good luck. Also if you get the person who thinks "I am the Law" good luck trying to even speak to them because these types are totally totalitarian Communist and they will send you to a "Re-education Camp" to be reprogrammed. Listen I understand they have a job, however since I got a "License " to do business I have had calls from all over the world claiming they are with the "FBI, CIA, IRS and Treasury " departments and they all wanted money immediately, so yes scam artist ls so when I get a call from "1-800....." I am on guard because if these folks are running with Dogs well they are one too, or isn't that how the old saying goes? Why do Business with scam artists?

Applied for our business license in July 2018 received it in August and our company name is MISSPELLED!!! Contacted them immediately and was supposed to be fixed. After repeated calls still has not been fixed even though it was promised to be addressed immediately. Now we're in October, still the license has not be fixed, still haven't received our reseller permit and taxes are due 10/31. I wholeheartedly urge you to stay on top of your licensing process...I am beyond frustrated and disgusted. Hopefully you will not have the same experience.

Lady working at DOR is not helpful at all and she doesn't know the process. She even doesn't smile. They needs more training here. WA Secretary of State asked me to go back to DOR and get this another document signed by DOR which DOR supposed to know that office of Secretary of State is going to ask for. I went back again to DOR and they denied that such document even exist. Then she was taking help from business licensing and upon calling to there boss, she found out that such document does exist. Finally they gave me one, and again I went back to Secretary of State. DOR costed me lot of time, 2 trips and confusion. Plz train your people and then let them go to the counter, because your mistakes can end up nightmare for business owners.
