Windber Recreation Park and Pool

We went here while visiting in Johnstown and I have to say amazing pool day with the family.
While yes it gets crowded there is still plenty of room and space to swim and lay down to catch a tan. Kids had a blast on the slides and the kiddie sprinkle area was a hit.
Very affordable and a great way to cool down on these hot summer days.

While visiting family we walked our dogs here. There are several shelters which you can reserve. There were two dog parks, one which was smaller and another which once was an old baseball field. Both parks had doggie bags. The ball field had toys and water bowls. Our pups had a great time running around! Highly recommend.

My daughter and I love this place!! It's not expensive there's lots of stuff to do I pair you can we can cook out on the grillguerrilla there's a skatepark there's playground is basketball courts there's pavilions there's picnic tables as baseball field they have everything up!!!

I had my first visit to the park for waves and wings! What a fantastic time! Live music, which was incredible. Hundreds and hundreds of people were there, it was a far larger event than I thought it would be. Three restaurants were competing in a wing challenge, and the food was excellent! Everyone was having a grand time! Here is a photo of the JR’s team. I spoke with them and they all had a fabulous time. You can see it on all of their faces.

My 1st time coming here and I really liked it,it was clean and quiet. I would recommend to anyone..

Very nice park, my sister-in-law and myself walk our dogs, very friendly people that are there, the atmosphere is breath taking , would like to go swimming there sometime, probably not this year, will next year 🌸

I love bringing my dog here. There is a nature trail if you like the woods. You can also walk your dog around the park paths. They also have a gated baseball field and a small gated area for dogs as well. They have volleyball courts, a skateboarding area, a pool and more.

Windber rec, is a great place to have a gather. Many pavilions to rent to hold a family reunion, graduation party, birthday party, and so much more. A nice area to walk and even a trail to follow. Bring your fur baby to play at the dog park. A nice playground area and skateboard ramps as well. The swimming pool has a slide and it's a great place to bring the kids and let them enjoy some sun.

Nice park to take an easy walk. We regularly take out 3 dogs to the dog park. They have a lot of fun events here like an adult Easter egg hunt and Wings & Waves. I haven't been to the pool yet but it looks very nice.

This is an excellent place to go if you are bored and want a variety of options for you and your family. Tennis courts are well maintained, the swimming pool is relatively clean, the walking trails are absolutely beautiful, and the playground is great for the children. The dog park is always open and hardly ever used, so take your furry friend for a treat day and have a blast. I’d recommend for anyone wanting to get out of the house and revisit nature.

Great place to take the kids for playtime, family time, walk or swimming! Cute little secluded nature trail along with a decent sized playground & grills for family cookouts. Swimming area is pretty awesome, although it's quite often filled with way too many people for my liking 😅 beautiful place overall! Highly recommend

I've been trying to come here everyday since the weather has begun to lighten up. Me and my fiance are stir crazy from the pandemic, so we bring my daughter here to play and have fun. Well kept, beautiful park.

Great venue for events. They now have air conditioning. Very spacious with a stage and event coordinators.

We we're at a private party at a pavilion. It was clean, large and well taken care of it. The day was extremely hot and we still had a slight breeze. We could even enjoy watching the kids enjoying the pool at a distance.

Cool, clean water, three slides, kiddy play and splash area 3 ft, 5ft 8ft and 11ft sections to the pool. Friendly staff and a full concession stand. Adults (8 to 65) are 6 dollars, under 3 free and 3 to 17 are 5 dollars

My daughter went to the summer camp this year and she loved it! The staff was amazing, my daughter was excited to go every day and the pool was awesome! I will send her next year and I will continue to rave about it to others :)

I go here to walk my border collie. I love the dog park. I can take him inside the fence and play without having to worry about cars or him running too far, even though he listens pretty well he's still a puppy and still in training so once in a while he gets sidetracked. But, really I like this park!

Great place to spend the day. We've rented a Pavillion for a birthday party and the pool is always a great way to cool off. P.s. I love the slide.
