This really is a good school. It's really cheap and the acceptance rate is 100%, but I don't feel like that's reflected in it's performance. The environment is really nice, and it doesn't feel like a local community college. The programs and teachers are good, and the Holland library has everything you need. The HPC building has literally everything you could dream of for a gym, and it's free for all full time students. I'd really recommend coming here, as I don't think I've ever met anyone here with student dept. It's seriously a good school.

Proud Utah Tech Alumni! I studied chemistry at Utah Tech and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The chemistry faculty are all amazing... seriously. I couldn't imaging a better place to study; truly some of the best years of my life were spent here!

I love the fact that the campus store is open too the public. Me and my friends had a great time swimming in the fountain, drinking lemonade, and eating ramen on the rooftop deck.
I'm disappointed that they want to change the name to "Utah Polytech University" I will forever be calling it Dixie State University.

I had such a fun experience, I was in a marching band, and our competition was there, and it was sooooooooooo much fun. The sunset there was beautiful, and I had an awesome time being able to see the temple from the stadium.

Utah Tech University is a fantastic place to cultivate valuable knowledge and skills in a beautiful, sunny environment. I love all the buildings, new and old, and am impressed by this institution's continuous growth and improvement. In particular, I can personally attest to the high quality of UT's computer science and IT programs.

Well I got my associates and bachelor's degree and hands down this is one of the best university experiences one could have. I love the professors that make the university amazing. I loved it so much, I decided to work here ;)

Nice college. I transferred here from a different university and it is a much better university. Good college town to have fun in, low crime, good community.

I am glad they changed the name from Dixie State to Utah Tech University because it sounds better on a resume.

The Queen Tribute Band ❤ was great fun! I wish we could of heard the words of the songs better.Every one was dancing in front of their seats & singing along. One of the Best Concerts I've been to. The lead singer was a bit distracting because he was not dressed at all like Freddy Mercy.Even wearing a white tank top & jeans would have been a bit truer to the character .Like what Freddy wore a the Live Aid Concert. Over all it was sooo much fun!!!! I loved 😍 ♥ it. I would definitely like to see them again !!!

Beautiful campus and it appears they all new buildings. We were in town for a swim meet and it's been an amazing experience. The facilities were very COVID-19 sensitive. The only hard part was we were not able to stand inside to see the swims.

Took a walk around the campus and it was easy to get around.

Attended freshman orientation with our son today. Very informative and a beautiful campus. My son is more excited than ever to start his university experience. Just what we needed. I hope they keep the name but if we end up Utah Tech... Whatever..

I love this school! I just finished my second semester and the campus environment is awesome, but what's most important and what makes Dixie truly awesome is the people! The administrators and professors are top notch, I have got help from the people in the housing office, career center, student advising, and the psychology department and every single person has been so helpful and has guided me in my best direction in a way that I understand, I have yet to have a bad professor as well! I'm also glad Dixie is revising there polices on free speech :) -Forrest Gee

I've taught here for over 12 years now. It is the best place to work and we have the best students. For being open enrollment, you wouldn't know it. The students that are coming out of Dixie are out of this world awesome!

I've been a student at Dixie State University for 3 years now, and I have heard the same complaints as you see on this page. I have also heard that it was mostly a party school. It had that reputation for quite some time. However, here in 2013, with the completion of the Holland building, the acquiring of more and more programs, and the transition to university status has shown that Dixie desired something better. I have enjoyed my education here, and while not all the professors have been pleasant, I feel educated in the subjects that I have taken. Awesome weather, reasonable tuition, little traffic (relatively speaking), enough parking space, and competent staff equals an excellent educational experience here in St. George.

Why oh why did the name have to change????? Well, it will always be Dixie to me.
Oh yeah, the school is pretty nice too. Anyone willing to pay for the education and put up with the deadly temperatures will get something out of it.

I have been living in Southern Utah since high school and have watched this institution transfer from a school that takes everyone, to a premier university with excellent programs and traditions. It is no longer a "party school," but has been transformed with renovations, the addition of new programs, and hands-on care to a superb school. The class sizes are small and personable, the weather is perfect, the activities please both the single and family students, and St. George has more recreation than anywhere else. I highly recommend this school.

Such a great school! All of the professors I have had are very happy to be here and be teaching. The tuition is very affordable compared to others.

The student alumni puts on great activities to keep things fun and interresting.

There is a lot to do recreationally in this area if you are the type that enjoys the outdoors.

I started my education at Dixie State in 2012. I watched as the Holland building was built, the mascot was changed, and got to advocate for the funding for the Human Performance Center. I remember when the clock tower was placed on the encampment mall to be a reminder of the once Dixie Academy and the old Dixie songs. From the moment I stepped on the campus I knew it was special, and cried when I received my jar of red sand at graduation. (The jar states to put “one half teaspoon in shoes twice a week” when you are missing Dixie) I have watched the school go through positive, impactful, change. I have felt the Dixie Spirit from the administration, faculty, and staff that I felt were all very invested in my future success. I am proud to be a Dixie State Alumni, and I know you will feel the same way should you choose to attend.
