I wouldn't hire this company to close on a property I acquired during a Monopoly game. We were buying a house and selling a house on the same day. I called them over a month before closing to get our closing costs. They kept telling me they didn't have the file in front of them (everything in the real estate industry is electronic) and would get back to me, which they never did. About 10 days before closing (after numerous calls) they finally gave me an amount. 24 hours before closing they send an email telling us that they didn't add in the taxes so we needed an additional $7000. The MOST incompetent people I have ever dealt with. And now I just figured out that they didn't use the correct parcel number. Honestly, do yourself a favor and don't waste your money unless your sadistic and enjoy being lied to and redoing work you already paid thousands of dollars for. I wished they had negative stars and didn't make me give them even one star.

Can't say enough about this company

And how horrible it was working with them.

My wife contracted COVID, and that was it for them. Either we could go find a notary 2 days before closing that was willing to curbside signing on such short notice or push the closing back.

It's been 2 years since the pandemic began, so you'd think places would have practices and options in place to adjust to the new norm right?

NOT FIRST AMERICAN TITLE!

They're still acting like it's 2019 and they have no idea what it's like to deal with COVID. They do NOT offer any kind of curbside closing, they have ZERO practices in place to handle someone contracting COVID last minute, and they WILL place all the burden on you, their customer, because they literally don't care.

Oh, and I hope you like guessing! Because that's their favorite game. Why have a simple Power of Attorney letter? No, gotta make sure you squeeze as much legalese into it as possible so it's as confusing as it can be for the layperson they send it to to fill it out. And NO they can't help you!

Oh, and think you have everything in place and good to go for closing?

Wrong again!

Because you may have more paperwork you need to bring to closing even though you sent it in an email and they accepted it. Remember what I said about guessing games? Because they won't tell you you need it, they just leave it to you to guess. Why communicate when you can have fun playing the guessing game?

Stress? What is that? First American doesn't know because they leave all the burden on you, the stressed out customer! You can handle any and all hurdles that might come up, because they won't help you.

So, in short, STAY AWAY. DO NOT USE THEM. If your realtor suggests them, get a new realtor.

Would not recommend this title company for closing a home purchase. As the buyer, the seller got to choose the title company. While friendly, I was disappointed at the amount of incompetence displayed by the staff. If you're a seller, do your potential buyer's a favor and find a different title company - no matter what your Realtor recommends (the Realtor's are more than likely getting a kickback referral fee or gifts for steering you to this agency).

BEWARE this title company. They dont research titles before purchase and allow their clients to be stuck paying liens against the properties after paying for their title insurance. Also they deceive you by not disclosing information at closing that they are aware of and then lie about it later to claim ignorance.
