10/10 would return! I went for dinner with my 4yr old and my husband on a Thrusday night. I will say it was pretty dead in there, but it was nice not to have a lot of people around. The food was A+, and the service was fantastic! The server we had knew everything, he told us the origin of the restaurant and did help explain everything on the menu so well. Also side note, the art work on the walls were pretty awesome, and for sale too!

Wonderful farm to table experience that makes me want to come back for more. An amazing seasonal menu that gives a large variety of eaters something to choose from. The staff was very friendly, personable and well spoken about their menu. Great selection of prohibition style cocktails and locally/independent brewery’s. They even have smaller ounces of beers on tap for you to purchase incase you either aren’t looking to drink a lot or you were looking for flights, I highly recommend getting a few and sampling. Priced reasonably in my opinion for the quality and care that each dish receives and you are helping local businesses as well. The music, atmosphere, staff and overall vibe makes this a must hit stop if you are in the area, or heck, even if you are looking to try something new; it was worth a 30 minute drive from where I was located. Give this place a shot, you won’t be disappointed!
Extra tip, save room for dessert, it’s worth it.

Great food. The fish and chips are awesome here, the wings are fantastic, and (a special) the ramen was amazing too. Only issue is it can be somewhat slow sometimes, but it’s still fantastic. Takeout is a great option too.

Our unplanned dinner here turned out to be one of the treasured experiences of our trip. What a hidden gem this restaurant is! The chef (owner?) greeted us and readied a table for us in the sunroom, which offered a nice evening breeze. Both he and the bartender came to our table to answer questions and give information about the menu, drinks, and how prohibition and local farming influence both. The hamburger, clam po-boy, and crab cakes we got were all delicious and our cocktails were refreshing and unique. As others mentioned, the art displayed is also interesting and fun. This is a wonderful place to try something new, learn something new, and feel like you’ve made new friends.

Visited with some friends and had a fantastic time, especially enjoying the Wilbur Chocolate Hot wings while sitting at the bar. Dave, the bartender, memorized our names in just a few minutes, adding a personal touch to the already amazing atmosphere. The food was top-notch. I wish I lived closer; I'd be a regular for sure. The constantly changing menu is a huge plus, always offering something new to try. Highly recommend The Black Gryphon!

A Hidde GEM that is not so hidden. Tony the owner is very passionate about the arts. From food to drinks to the art hanging on the wall and the music that is played he puts thought into it all. This Farm to table restaurant is a fusion of foods. Every flavor, spice and sauce is there for a reason. From the start of the meal to the dessert you could not go wrong with anything on this seasonal changing menu. 12/10 hands down recommend.
Don't forget to make a reservation so they know you are coming.

Excellent local bar with wonderful service (Dave rocks! Very friendly) and even better food.

The place was warm and inviting, not too loud, and is exactly the kind of place i would want to take my friends for a night after work for drinks.

The menu changes 3 times a year and makes strong use of local farms and suppliers.
Will for sure be coming again!

From their creative menu to their top tier ingredients, Black Gryphon is a must visit spot for any locals AND out of towner’s. Their fantastic “Chocolate Hot” is extremely noteworthy. From the several dishes I’ve tried, each one has been a home run. Be sure to get your burger “Super Saiyan Style”! Beautiful spot/people, will be back!

My friends and I had a great experience. Our server was excellent, kind, and accommodating as much as they could be, despite being warned that our reservation was at a super busy time. The food and drinks were excellent. The atmosphere was friendly. Highly recommend!

This place is my new favorite. We've gone twice now. They make a decadent steak, and the perfect chicken fingers. After dinner, you NEED a Cafe Pucci. The server is awesome, and I loved that he remembered us.

Tonight was our first visit. The food was amazing, the drinks were amazing but the winner of the night was the fried ice cream. We will define back! The service was top notch as well!

I've frequented Black Gryphon for nearly 15 years now, and can assuredly say it's one of the best restaurants in south central PA. The food is wholly unique, ranging from tasty classics (like their award-winning chocolate hot wings and hamburgers with local grass-fed beef) to globally-inspired dishes that you won't find anywhere else nearby. Their beer selection is also unparalleled, with 15+ taps of amazing craft pours from all around the country. The menu changes several times throughout the year too, ensuring that the food you're enjoying is fresh, local and in-season. If you live in southern PA and love good food and libations, Black Gryphon is a MUST visit!

ATTENTION CRAFT BEER LOVERS! Their food is good, but the best kept secret about the Black Gryphon is the amazing craft beer selection. All of the craft beers are hand selected by Tony. They are great quality beers that you can't get anywhere else in the area. Great job Tony!

Great food, fantastic service with just the right amount of attention, and the perfect atmosphere to enjoy an evening of acoustic blues music. You have got to try the sushi nachos!

Wow what a great find when visiting ETown! This unassuming restaurant is run like a farm-to-table gastropub! Great freshly prepared food, good vegetarian options, and wicked-good drinks! Definitely recommend a stop here for all!

My boyfriend and I just ate here for the first time and it was incredible! Our friends raved about it so we had to try. I don’t see how anyone could have a bad experience here. The food was amazing AND the staff is so friendly and welcoming. Our server Anika was the best! Will definitely be coming back more frequently.

All local ingredients, menu changes every season, wonderful tap rotation and make their own G&T... delightful. Will come here many more times. Highly recommended.

Eat dessert first is my Black Gryphon recommendation; the fried ice cream is out of this world! This version incorporates chocolate cinnamon toast crunch with mint chocolate chip ice cream. We were impressed with the flavor combinations and the local sourcing of ingredients.
