Lovely small state park. We liked the rock field. It was difficult to find the trail, we had to drive to another parking lot to find the trail. Bathrooms available. No running water. Beautiful views.

The view is amazing! Love the various rock formations throughout the park, which is great for kids and to drive your toy trucks on.. The trails are not easily located and they seemed to be rocks and gravel. This park has many areas for picnics and an open space perfect for flying kites and I saw a couple. The restroom is very small and it's not a flushable one... just a big hole with a toilet seat. I guess it is expected in the mountains? People at this park are very friendly. I think I might be the only nonwhite person here. They didn't treat me differently. I wish the trails were easier to locate. I still had fun walking around, exploring this park with my girls.

Beautiful view from the park in most areas. There is a pavilion at the peak and other picnic areas scattered around. Could easily spend a few hours here.

Well maintained area. Large wide open hillside high above York Co overlooking the Susquehanna into Columbia. Large pavilion area.. Even a frisbee golf course. Great view in many directions allowing for a view of either, Sunrise or Sunset. Lovely place for family photos and great fall foliage spot.

Like an Imax on steroids, there are some spots here offering a vista of over 180 degrees. This park took my breath away. Most parks with a view have an observation spot where you look out and then walk away. At Samuel S Lewis you can picnic, play lawn games, or fly a kite for hours and admire the awe inspiring view from the open field. A bonus is a picnic pavilion that is located to take advantage of the fields and the view.
In a different section of the park, you can picnic or play baseball by a rock field which kids love to climb (see picture). The hilltop trail in this area does a loop around to the open field. It is a nice wide trail through scenic woods (picture).
Check the park schedule for occasional stargazing programs.
The park also features disc golf and a playground.
There is no hunting at Samuel Lewis and only one parking area is open in winter near the main views.

The view of the surrounding area is breathtaking. Nice to see we are above Lancaster and looking down on them. Park is a great place to spend the day. Has picnic areas, disc golf, rocks to climb on and plenty of grass and trees. A awesome place to fly a kite.

This is a nice quiet park. It's small, but offers plenty of room to play sports, fly kites, climb rocks, use the pavilion, benches, and picnic tables, or just enjoy the view of the river. Not anything amazing here, but definitely nice.

This is the first park I was introduced to when I visited York a few years ago. I was and is amazed at the scenery. Sitting on a mountain. You can see the Wrightsville bridge and the Susquehanna River. The sunsets are spectacular. The walking trails are great. The wild life that pops up are a sight to see. Visit and experience this park for yourselves.

Very nice and clean park. Beautiful landscape views of the river and then some. Nice place to have a picnic, go for a run, walk or hike. Very easy to get to especially along the countryside. Definitely worth the drive

Very nice park on an 885 ft ridge. There are hiking trails that go around the park, and a great view from the top of the park.

I've been going to this park since I was a kid. Now I get to take my children. Every time I'm there it is well maintained and beautiful.

A large park with lots of places for hanging out, climbing rocks, and sitting at benches/tables. There is a 9 hole disc golf course that is a fun hour long play. There is a fantastic view of the sunrise over the susquehanna and the sunset over the mountains in the opposite direction. The park is right above Eastern High School. I have many good memories over the years at this park, from friends birthday parties, to playing disc golf and soccer, and planning dates with my girlfriends. There are community focused events that also happen.

Amazing views of the Susquehanna River, great place to fly a kite. Kiddo loved exploring on the rock formations and there are short (but steep) hiking trails. Also a disc golf course. Nice place for a picnic.

Very beautiful and amazing photography possibilities. Fun and even a great place to go sledding during the winter months. Definitely will visit again and you should too. Have fun and enjoy Pennsylvania's mountain park and visit again and tell your friend.

Awesome park to play disc golf. They have great scery and a challenging yet simple 9 hole course. Course difficulty is probably a 5/10 with a few months practice most people will do well here. We also saw a palamino deer on one of our visits.
