Ordered the meat sample platter. It had Goat, Curry and Jerk chicken. Also Jollof rice, fried plantains. Food was amazing! I like to eat spicy food and the goat and jerk chicken were spicy to perfection! The seasoning on everything tasted great. My only complaint is they close at 9pm instead of 10pm

Oh so good, so tasty. Came upon this place by accident and was thrilled to find some African cuisine by chance. What a find!. Food was excellent and dishes tasted so different from any other cuisine. The Caribbean dishes were similar in appearance but had a Ghanaian touch to them. I will be back! My pics posted are “Curry Goat with Rice & Beans” and “Red Snapper with Black Eyes Peas & Fried Plantains”.

Food was delicious and flavorful. Portions were very generous. Staff was also incredibly friendly and welcoming!

Amazing food jerk chicken was the best and the ox tail fell off the bone , mac n cheese and the plantars were Phenomenal.. green suit to another thank you bro

This place has the best jerk chicken platter. I got the jollof rice and plantains as the sides. It was perfectly cooked and was super flavorful. I also asked for some hot sauce which I’m assuming was homemade, but it was sooo good. The owners were very nice which makes this place that much more awesome. I will definitely come back again and highly recommended it to others!!!

My husband and I stopped in for dinner and had an absolute wonderful experience. The family was so welcoming and nice the moment we walked in. I had the oxtail with rice and beans and plantains while my husband had the curry chicken with rice and Mac n cheese. The meat just falls right off the bone and the plantains were perfectly done. The food is a flavorful, authentic mix of African and Caribbean. We will definitely be back soon!

This place is awesome! The food is authentic and the service is wonderful! This Family-run business provides a nice combination of African and Caribbean food and is a great addition to the area. I had the jerk chicken with Mac and cheese - simply delicious! The meat fell right off the bone, perfect level of spice, and good serving sizes. Highly recommended! We will be back again soon.

Was meaning to try this place sooner (always supporting new local places). The note from the Mayor to try it prompted us to get carry out last night. Wow, were we knocked over! My wife got the ribs, which were dry rubbed on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. Absolutely excellent. I was bummed that they did not have okra, but got talked into trying the "peanut soup" special, which was described as a "symphony of flavor". Got it home and it was nothing like I expected... so much more! It did have a peanut flavor, but only as one note in the symphony. It was spicy, which I normally can't take, but it was not spicy like "hot sauce", but more intricate. It had oxtail bones with meat falling off. Teamed up with white rice, it was a complete meal. Everyone in our house tried it and was truly impressed.

I'm not familiar with this style of cooking, but I'm looking forward to learning and enjoying more, one visit at a time. Very authentic, very tasty, a great find and addition to the Ambler food scene. Well worth supporting.

What an absolute gem in this town. The people are warm and friendly and the food is phenomenal. We got two platters ribs and curry goat, two sides each -- both opting for plantains which were cooked to perfection. Yams and rice-- plus the meat patties which were golden and flaky on the outside with a really tasty filling. There is definitely something for everyone on their menu.

Finally got a chance to try this out and loved the food! I went safe with the seasoned chicken platter. It was perfectly tender and seasoned for me...so I didn't try the tomato-based sauce served on the side until my last couple bites...what a loss! It was delicious too. Enjoyed that they had ginger beer to pair with my meal. My husband got the red snapper platter. We were a little thrown off that the fish was served whole, but he devoured it! I took a bite and though I'm not a big fish eater, it was the best bite of fish I've ever had! Our young girls had mac and cheese, a winner too! We'll be back to try the local W African food they make special on Sundays. Lucky to have delicious ethnic food in Ambler!

There need to be more restaurants like this one. I haven't had much of this particular cuisine before but you can bet that after my experience this weekend I'll be back. The staff was amazing and friendly. Our food was beyond delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the curry chicken but I'm excited to try something new on my next visit.

They just fried a whole fish and put it on a plate with delicious rice and it was amazing. It was a little unnerving to stare into the eyes of my food while I ate it, but it tasted so good I got over that really quickly.
I don't think you can find a more reasonably priced seafood restaurant, the staff is friendly and helpful if you don't know what you're looking at and THE HOT SAUCE IS HOT But it's delicious.

Can't say enough good things about this place. We had a great time.

My boyfriend is from Ghana and was looking for a place to get some good jollof rice. We stumbled upon this place in Ambler and it was not a disappointment.They have a wide selection of food and the plates are large and hearty. If this wasn't located in in the heart of Ambler, I would say it was a "hole in the wall" type of joint; the restaurant is tiny and casual and the service is relaxed and friendly. The price is reasonable, as you get a ton of food per order. We will be visiting this place again soon!

We took my coworker here after work and the atmosphere was amazing. I order the fried red snapper with cabbage, and rice and beans with the oxtail gravy over the rice it was absolutely delightful. The service was hospitable I felt very comfortable.

DELICIOUS. I had the jollof rice with jerk chicken and fried plantains, and I couldn't get over how flavorful everything was. My boyfriend had I had never eaten food like this, and we absolutely loved it. The portions were very generous, especially for the price.

Plus you can tell that everything at Buutchiis is made with love. Highly recommend.

Flavorful, filling, consistent, great service. I get Buutchiis whenever possible- jerk chicken platter with rice & peas, and cabbage. It’s unrivaled.

I really enjoyed the red snapper I ordered. There's a great range of food desires covered by the menu: comfort food like jerk chicken and mac and cheese, and more particularly Caribbean eating like kenke, plantain, jollof rice. The staff were friendly and accommodating and there was a nice casual atmosphere.

This place is a gem of unique food in Ambler. Authentic afro-carribbean dishes with highlights being oxtail, meat patties (both Ghanian and Jamaican), curry and of course jerk.
