First time trying Mokja and had a fantastic meal and service. A small BYOB slightly off the main drag in Ambler but cozy interior with outdoor seating as well. We started with the truffle edamame dumplings which were delicious with a crispy skin and rich filling. I went with the salmon special which was cooked perfectly, well seasoned and a perfect portion served with fresh broccoli and rice. The kimchi on the side also hit the spot with a good level of heat from the Chile powder. Mokja also has a wide selection of vegetarian options and multiple specials in addition to its standard menu. Great surface and experience. Will definitely return soon!

Delicious dinner tonight at this new (to us) Korean restaurant in Ambler. BYOB. Our server was fantastic. This will undoubtedly become a regular spot for us.

Ordered takeout of vegetable pajeon and beef bulgogi for our anniversary dinner (social anxiety got the best of me). Absolutely delicious! I can't wait until next time to try the japchae. Amazing flavors.

This is our favorite restaurant in Ambler by far. The noodle dishes are always delicious and the spicy chicken is a go to as well. Just ordered the cheesesteak special tonight and it was amazing. Highly recommend.

Absolute gem of a place. Good options, wings were crispy with great flavor. Owner is pleasant, staff is efficient. The main bowls me and my partner had were full of flavor and tender meat. Fresh tasting, great, with the perfect amount of spiciness for my meal. 10/10 would absolutely eat here again.

Delicious food! We had it delivery and they were very fast. The Korean fries were *stellar* and not too spicy. The pajeon was very good but I wish the bacon kimchi option had been available. That sounds soooo good!

Then we had the ramen. I wasn't expecting there to be no broth, but I didn't miss it at all. The flavors were perfectly balanced and we got a huge portion of it that two people were able to split. I definitely want to go back and try more of their menu because everything we had was very tasty and well spiced.

What an amazing dinner we had here tonight! It was the first visit for all 4 of us. We shared chicken wings as our appetizer--DELICIOUS! Then we had 4 different entrees--ALSO DELICIOUS. The owner/chef spent time chatting with us. We ate outside. Everything was terrific and we look forward to returning!

Super delicious! Ordered takeout online. It worked well and was timely. The food was delicious. We got the special nachos (which I hope will become a permanent fixture), the bulgogi lettuce wraps, and the kimchi fried rice. We will definitely order again soon. Can't wait to actually dine-in some day.

Everything we’ve ever ordered here is great! We especially loved the Truffle Edamame Mandu, the wings, and the Korean Kicker shrimp but honestly everything is amazing you can’t go wrong no matter what you order. Definitely recommend.

Had seen this place open IDK about a year ago, wanted to try it just never made it in. Well, a friend was raving about the burger so I finally made it in. Really good. Small intimate atmosphere, the owner/chef was very friendly. They were very busy I think for a Wednesday evening, cold out, all but 2 or 3 tables were taken. It was restaurant week so the menu was 4 course only, plus a couple of things off menu. We ordered different things each off the 4 courses so we got to try everything they were serving that night. All very good. Salad was great, don't even remember what the appetizer was, thought edamame but it was actually beef dumplings, and truffle dumplings, they were very very good, spicy monkfish and steak were the main (delish) and desert was a pear and a brownie made from rice flour that was definitely different, but notably good. Not one miss from what we ordered! One thing, they were definitely running a skeletal staff and that's understandable in these times, so bring patience, but everyone was very friendly. It's a lovely spot so a nice place to spend time.

Note its BYOB although we were offered a drink special on the house.
Wish I stopped In Sooner!

Ordered takeout/pickup for 4 from here recently and everything came out tasting delicious. On a Friday evening, they’re busy, and I think (at least during the pandemic) had one young woman answering phones and taking orders, and possibly also the same person handling the checkout process in person. So, in short, don’t be surprised if you call in for takeout and they’re a bit terse and to-the-point about it. My feelings are this: My experience ordering and picking up during restaurant-primetime on a Friday evening (at a popular restaurant I’d heard a lot about via word of mouth recs) was friendly enough and expedient enough considering the entire restaurant industry is facing a substantial shortage in staffing and in various aspects of their regular inventory. Our takeout had everything we needed, was well packaged—and as for the food itself, it came in generous portions and, as I say, was delicious. I got the beef bulgogi, which lived up to the high expectations I had for it based on other bulgogis I’ve had.

Our group included one person on a vegan diet and at least one openly (self-declared) picky eater. Everyone loved their dinners.

My partner and I look forward to ordering from Mokja again in the future, and also hopefully dining in one of these days.

I ordered their signature Mokja Burger and it was without a doubt the best non traditional burger I've ever had. The meat was cooked exactly how I ordered it, the ingredients tasted fresh, the brioche bun was perfect, their house sauce on the burger combined with those pickles and pickled onions really made it pop. The fries were really tasty too. We also tried their Edamame Truffle dumplings which were excellent as well. Sometimes when you get these specialty burgers at these little places you feel a little ripped off "$12-$14 bucks for that? I could have made that." Not the Mokja burger. This burger made me dance around my house repeating " mmm mmm mmm that was a good god damn burger!"
My wife and I can't wait to try more food here.

Love this new spot in Ambler! Food was amazing and big portions. The spicy chicken sandwich is better than Chic Fila. They also have a lot of vegan options for my boyfriend. I can not wait to order again!

I ordered from the restaurant week menu and the food was absolutely delicious. It was Korean American and the best part is that there is some sort of unique component to the dishes, even if it looks like a traditional Korean dish. The tofu caprese that I normally wouldn't think to order was a fresh surprise, with salty spicy dressing on the fried tofu that paired well with the sweetness of cherry tomatoes and basil - very refreshing. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy with a subtle matcha flavor in the batter. The bimbimbap had picked carrots in it which added some great acidity to the dish and made it lighter than a traditional bimbimbap. I could have had seconds!

Amazingly delicious lunch at this very cute BYO in Ambler. Menu is modern Korean and Chef An produces tasty, creative and nicely presented dishes.
Had truffled edamame dumplings for appetizer which were a lovely and unusual twist on a classic dumplings. Hubby had Brussels sprouts which were delicate and crispy. We both had Ramen with crispy tofu, jammy egg and kimchi for the main and it was delicious. Simple interior reminded us of restaurants in Japan. Owner/chef An was running both the front of the house and cooking and so we had a chance to chat with him. Great place for vegetarians (which I am) but plenty for meat eaters as well (many dishes can be made either way). You won’t be disappointed with anything. We’ll definitely be back!!

Great addition to the Ambler food scene. Everything is delicious and the staff is so friendly. Brussel sprouts were so good in that spicy kimchi sauce. Don't count out the tofu caprese. The staff is wonderful and friendly. We love Ellen! Highly recommended!

The bulgogi cheesesteak was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in my lifetime. Tonight I tried the Chicken Sandwich and it was also incredible. If you’re in Ambler (or even if you’re driving from out of town like we did) you have to stop by Mokja, it will not disappoint!

If you're on the fence about trying Mokja, don't hesitate any longer! They had an ala cart menu that offered choices for mostly anyone. It is a byob restaurant that offers seating indoors and outside with heaters by the tables. The owner stopped by our table to make sure we enjoyed our visit and the service was very good. I would definitely go again and try another yummy dish.
