Amazing and friendly service. I’m used to walking into more large business-based car maintenance places that just do the job and take the money. It was really refreshing to work with Dave and engage in a bit of small talk. I got a very neighborhood feel from being serviced here and highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Ambler Tire and Auto is an excellent facility. I have been coming here since 2016, at first with my previous vehicle and since 2021 with my current vehicle. I have used their facility for annual safety inspections, tire replacements, and occasional repairs. My current car (2020 Honda Civic) was having a persistent issue earlier this year and Dave and the rest of the team went above and beyond with getting to the bottom of the problem and fixing it. Fantastic place to work with overall!

In addition, they're also very well equipped with the latest in diagnostic tools, equipment and training, which allows them to to get to the heart of a problem rapidly and accurately in one visit, virtually eliminating return trips and the extra time and expense to get your car fixed properly (as I've experienced with other repair shops). That’s why Ambler Tire has been my go-to place for inspections, tires and mechanical work for over 20 years. I trust Dave and his family— they are great people. Very fair, reasonable, and reliable. Definitely bring your car here if you want a fast easy process. Dave will do his best for you and I think he is a caring gentleman. He is a “diamond in the rough” — you won’t find this kind of rare work ethic, kindness, or honesty if you go elsewhere!

He fixed my car and had it running the best it’s ever felt after diagnosing and fixing a broken sensor. My car drive smoothly and has not felt this smooth in a very long time since it had this broken sensor that I was unaware of. I am extremely grateful for the time he put into this and prioritizing fixing my car so quickly. It means a lot since I was in a stressful situation having just moved to this area from out of state and not knowing who I could trust. Thank God I brought my car here— now I have a mechanic I can trust in the area.

He stayed after the office close to work on my car and make sure that my car would be diagnosed as soon as possible— He really goes above and beyond. This speaks volume of his character and the fact he cared about having this done in a timely fashion. What more can you ask for? He is great at what he does and cares about doing a good job for you.

His wife is lovely and if you speak with her at reception desk she really wants to help and have you have the best experience here. I think this family run business is the best place to bring your car if you want it in the hands of people you can trust. Their sons work in the garage, and daughter works in the office— they are a very sweet caring and classy family. This is a rare type of family that you will not come across every day. They really care about each other. I have only brought my car here once, but I will definitely bring it back for maintenance in the future.

The office is extremely clean, organized, and well taken after. They take pride in what they do and value customer service as well as taking care of your car in the best way. They keep the garage in spotless condition which means they really take pride and confidence in what they do and enjoy what they do. I have not seen a car mechanic office in such a clean, friendly, an organized condition. They have abundant snacks in the lobby. It speaks well to how they will treat your car while it is there with them.

Dave will call and update you right away with any updates on your car. He will make sure to get the work done fast and I believe he will get it done faster and better than any other mechanic in town. He can service European cars and worked on my mini Cooper so if you have a European car he will be able to work on it which is a huge bonus. Definitely give these guys a shot they really want to help their customers.

I went in for my state inspection and an oil change. Friendly office, easy drop off and pick up. The price was fair, the work done right, and no invented problems the car "suddenly" had like other places try to pull.

I will definitely be using them for auto work in the future.

I’ve been going to Ambler Tire for over 40 years ever since he rescued me from the Ambler train parking lot when my battery died. He delayed his trip home to help me and I’ve been ever so grateful.

In this day and age it’s hard to find a mechanic that you find not only reliable when it comes to price, but when it comes to service as well. However, Dave and the team at Amber Tire & Auto not only check the boxes in excellent service and reasonable prices, but they are extremely accommodating, courteous and have great client service as well (something in short supply at most mechanics). If you take the train, it’s also convenient to drop it off before going into work (can walk right to the train) and picking it up after. I highly recommend this business and It’s employees!

I have been coming to Dave for all our car maintenance for about 12 years. In all that time, he has never failed to resolve any issue I've encountered with our cars. Dave handles both routine maintenance and urgent vehicle problems professionally, quickly, and makes the experience as pleasant as car repair can be! You will not find anyone more honest, competent, or pleasant anywhere in the area.

First of all let me just say thank you to David and everyone at ambler tire co. I won't let anyone else work on my car.
Here's why, David is by far the most honest, knowledgeable, and courteous technician in the entire area. After taking my car to 3 different places and wasting my money while ruining my car, luckily I found this shop.
I had to travel an hour to get there, but it was well worth it. David was the only person who could figure out what was wrong with my 2008 Volvo S80.
Now it rides and sounds better than when I bought it. I'll never take it anywhere else.

HIghly recommended, which is why I'm taking a moment to review. Right across Main St from the Ambler train station (if you need alternate transportation while your car is in for service). I've taken 4 different vehicles here, over the course of almost 20 years. Dave Chiffens and his crew have serviced all 4 brands capably, including my Land Rover (they are equipped with the correct diagnostic equipment for both Jaguar and Land Rover). He also educated me about the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975. If you're under the impression you're obligated to have the dealer service your car to maintain warranty coverage, Google Magnuson-Moss and you'll learn otherwise. Dave has given me a lot of good advice over the years, including letting me know if parts my vehicle's maintenance schedule suggested replacing still had life left in them. A decade ago, when my daughter was in college, money was tight. He knew I'd need new tires to pass inspection in July. When a customer wanted to fit larger tires on his truck during the winter, Dave called me to let me know he had some nearly-new takeoff tires to fit my truck. He then held those for me until my summer inspection. If you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic, you can't get much better than one who can fix problems correctly AND will save you money when he can. On the other hand, when my catalytic converted needed replacing, he insisted we use a genuine factory part, as he'd had too may failures with aftermarket parts on those, and didn't want me to have a bad experience. After all the opportunities he's taken to save me money over the years, I had no hesitation about following his recommendation. A total straight-shooter.

Friendly and honest. Dave always takes time to explain what's needed and how much "life" a part may have left. He has squeezed us in for a quick look on a couple of occasions where we had a "funny sound" coming from the car too. Happy to have a mechanic we can count on.
