I'm terrified of snakes, but being a mom, you have to get over these things for your kids. Seeing as Zoo Boise doesn't have many reptiles, I brought my kids here. It did not disappoint. Full of rescues, this zoo puts you face to face with your kids favorite reptiles. You'll feed turtles, tortoises, and if he's up for it you may even feed Hulk the Iguana. They brought out a few different small snakes and let the kids hold them. (Just writing about this freaks me out). If you haven't gone yet, you need to. Oh - also my daughter fell in love with Blue a small bird in the back. If you go, dance for blue and he may dance back with you. If he does, tell him Belle misses him. 💙

We just had my son's 8th birthday party here, what a fun experience! All of the staff was wonderful and the kids had so much fun! I am not a reptile person, and I still had a great time. We will definitely be back to visit. Highly recommend!

Amazing place! I'm moving soon and am honestly most sad about leaving the reptile zoo behind. My toddler loves it here and I love it even more as a lifelong reptile enthusiast. Amazing assortment of animals, well cared for, and doing great work to rescue these animals that would otherwise have hard or short lives. Check out the legless lizard!

We have been here a few times and the owners are always incredibly helpful and informative. One of our kids asked for a turtle for his birthday and we came in today to become more educated on ownership expectations prior to commitment.

If you or your kids want to see reptiles of all sorts or are considering adding one to your home I highly recommend coming here.

These people have it figured out. Patrons can feed the animals for no additional cost. Kids love getting up close and personal with the tortoises. There are enthusiastic young volunteers walking around who clearly love sharing the facts about the snakes they are holding and sharing. When you foster this kind of philosophy, you create a learning experience that might make a difference in what kids might want to become when they grow up. It is also small enough that with young children you don't have to make a huge time commitment. I highly recommend to persons who do not think they like reptiles. It is a feel good place for all ages who want to discover something awesome. Buy the season pass.

My preschooler had a great time! So many different reptiles to see and plenty of interaction (feeding/touching tortoises) to keep my preschooler interested. They had someone walking around with a snake that we could touch or hold too! We enjoyed reading the stories for each reptile and their names were so fun. We will be back!

This was the first time I came to visit. Everyone was so nice! There are no words to describe my visit. I fed the turtles with my husband when we first came in. It was wonderful! We got to pet all kinds of beautiful animals! I love the rescue stories because I noticed some issues with some of the animals and they explained why they were like that. It made me know these guys are the real deal and really care about their animals. Please come and support the work that they do! You will have a lot of fun when you do!!!

Amazing amazing place! We actually came in to surrender a turtle we rescued and they gladly took it! Then we looked around the place and it was so incredible! They had such a variety of turtles, tortoises and Snappers. They have spiders, cockroaches, snakes alligators even! They had huge tortoises you could walk into their enclosure and pet them! We can't wait to come back! Red eared slider turtles as well and tiny baby tortoises about the size of a mandarin orange! We even have an anaconda!

I will sad that the turtles should be in a bigger area of water. And some of the living area seemed way to small for them.

We always have a great time at the Idaho Reptile Zoo. Feeding the new baby turtles, and seeing all the improvements and new iguana enclosure was awesome. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I'm seriously considering a membership.

This place is amazing. When you walk in they have a small gift shop to the left and immediately in the front is the desk. You have to sign a disclosure if it’s your first time. They have snapping turtles that you can feed. They gave you some long tweezers and food so you can feed the snapping turtles. There’s plenty of them for tons of family to feed them. Then to the and on the far right are some huge tortoises, and they have lettuce that you can feed them! They have a free rocking little guy that will allow you to pet him, he’s an iguana. They have plenty of snakes to hold AND other smaller turtles to pet. This place is is low price and fun for the whole family. I would highly recommend. Their bathrooms are nice and clean, and they have several areas around where you can use hand sanitizer. The place is pretty clean, as long as the kids don’t mind the smell off he enclosures!! The staff was not only done on the most nicest people I met but they were VERY knowledgeable about the animals they showed us. They were always there when we had questions and were always friendly.

This place is amazing! The kids could spend hours and hours playing with the turtles and tortoises! The proprietor is super cool and the staff works hard to help make the experience magical for everyone. This is the most hands-on up-close-and-personal zoo experience we have ever had. You definitely need to check this out!

Wow this place is awesome. My kids had so much fun. All the staff are so nice, helpful and know a lot about all the reptiles. They made my kids comfortable enough to actually hold a snake before we left. Feeding the turtles was so much fun too. Highly recommend! 🐍🐢🐊🦎🐸🕷

The staff at this Zoo are amazing. You can tell they LOVE what they do. Come check out some scaled beauties and feathered friends at the Idaho Reptile Zoo. Many of these reptiles have stories and it’s really interesting to read about them as you look. 10/10 will go again.

This place is amazing! My kids loved it so much we went two days in a row and we had just as much fun on day two. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I have never seen so many animals be so engaged with visitors all in one visit. When we visit Boise again we will definitely be going back.

We just went here for Mother’s Day and it was awesome! You get to pet snakes, tortoise, and a large Iguana. There is so much to look at and everyone that works there is very informed about the animals they take care of. Everyone was so nice.

My kids always ask to go to the reptile zoo! Their favorite part is feeding the turtles. Today we got to see the alligator feeding. So cool! I highly recommend. Especially anyone with young kids.

Hands on place. We enjoyed the friendly staff and how knowledgeable they were. Where else can you pet a baby alligator? I’d recommend getting there early.
