Detzi's Tavern

First time here, went based on great reviews. I had the cheesesteak with sauce, fried onions, sauce and banana peppers. The roll was excellent, full of seasoned meat and not overly sauced. I like to eat and would have been happy to stop after eating half but..I ate the whole thing...🤷‍♂

Located in Wind Gap originally settled by the Dutch and German immigrants “Die Wind Kapf”, this Slate Belt landmark establishment has been here since 1960 off of Route 512. Formerly a family business, Detzi’s Tavern is now under a new owner. It’s a basic local sports bar and restaurant, accommodated by surrounded TVs serving comfort food. Upon entering without reservation on Black Friday, local sports history is displayed throughout the two dining rooms, with plenty of tables filled with patrons. There’s also outdoor patio seating available when the weather is agreeable. Despite a short wait, my partner, his family and I were seated at a table for four. There was a nice variety on the menu, consisting of burgers, wraps, salads, cheesesteaks, wings, pizza, and entrees. A separate menu featured the specials of the day. We decided on Veggie Wrap, California Burger, Black Bean Chipotle Burger, and Trattoria Burger. As a side, we ordered the sweet potato fries and onion rings. All entrees were well prepared, tasty, and of nice size. It can get very busy and noisy, but it is a sports bar after all. We can continue to recommend this place.

No frills, simple real food that is fresh and tasty. Had a steak salad which was simple but the greens were very fresh, The meat was properly cooked and tender and our waitress was quick friendly and on the ball. Lack of low cal dressing surprised me but we aren't all on a diet

My dad and I stopped there the other night, all I ordered was a garden salad with grilled chicken and seriously oh my god… it’s hard to find restaurants that serve fresh salads and let me tell you, not only was it huge but it was like someone had just picked and chopped up all the veggies in the back, the quality/taste was unreal. And, the grilled chicken was cooked to perfection - it may sound silly because it’s a salad, but speaks a lot for how fresh the ingredients are that they use. Simply amazing, loved every bite!!!

What a cute place! Food was really good, Barbara was amazing and took very good care of us! Big indoor area and a nice outdoor patio. The only drawback to the outdoor area is the traffic, it can be loud sometimes. Lots of choices on the menu, the appy pretzels were great! Our table ordered wings and pizza, all of it was delicious! Will definitely go back!

Great portion size and food. The service here was also super friendly and accommodating. We were hiking the AT and stopped in for a treat and they were super kind. We ate on the porch which is really nice. Our waitress filled our water bottles because she was so kind.

Great food, decent prices and excellent service. Recommended for a quick meal anytime.

Our Fire Company had a dinner there and it was awesome! The service was excellent, one of the best restaurants in the Slate Belt.

Has been a while since our last visit - we like to spread the wealth (different places to eat ). Very good food and service. Good to see Shiloh hasn't changed anything.

One of our favorite spots for a relaxing lunch or dinner. Food is always hot and fresh, staff is attentive, and the beer is cold! Wonderful homey atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Got a stromboli and the bbq chipotle burger split with my husband. Tasted awesome. Great service.... not just one server but any server checked on us. When the bill came I was shocked to see how great the total was. Perfect pricing. Most definitely will stop again. And refer to everyone!!!

Second time here was valentine's day. We had a special time and everyone's so friendly and kind. Will be our new date night spot.

It was our first time there. We had the Corned Beef and Cabbage on their St Patrick's Day Specials. It was Fantastic!! 👍 I'd rate it more stars if I could!!

The food was great as always. We had a wonderful time we were with two other couples. Our server was so much fun. It was a little slow when we got there so she spent plenty of time with us we almost had her convinced to sit and be part of our party. Never disappointed at the Detzi's

This place was a great find on our trip. The food was great. Two families sat down for lunch together and everything we had was great. Chicken wings were crispy and saucy. Cheese steak sandwich was moist and flavorful. Chicken soup was homemade. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Best meatball sandwich ever ! And it all started with the roll... awesome experience.

Lovely atmosphere. You can tell they love their sports. Wing night was the best and having a beer with my parents was also great. Great night, great food, great service. For as busy as they were they were very consistent and Nice to everyone
