My husband and I have done business with Hakes twice and both times we were extremely pleased. We just bought another lift chair from them and the customer service could not have been better. There was a lot to choose from also and more we could have looked at in a catalogue that they would have ordered for us. No high pressure sales pitch just good old fashioned waiting on a customer, listening to what we wanted, and then showing us what they had that would meet our needs. Good people! UPDATE: The young men, Justin and Eli, just delivered our new chair this morning and they were the nicest, most polite delivery personnel we have ever had in our home. They were good at their jobs and couldn’t have been more thoughtful toward me. They offered to wear masks, which I accepted and really went all out to make this delivery a really good experience. Hakes Furniture must be very proud of these two young men and ALL of their employees!

We purchased a solid wood dining set for less than the set of equal size (obviously not solid wood) we found at Ashley. Wonderful family owned store, not a big chain. Personalized service, staff actually remembers working with you! A great selection of bedroom furniture, living room and dining room! Anything you need is there or they will do what they can to get it for you. Prices are a little higher but the quality of the furniture is to notch! Me. Hake himself is a very knowledgeable and friendly guy, down to earth not snobby and stuck up! I purchased a bedroom suite and will definitely be back in the near future! I have bought a lot of furniture from Hakes but recently just bought a farmhouse style kitchen set and two beautiful recliners! I’m never disappointed by the way I am treated when Going to Hakes this man offers the best price he can and is so personable his sales help is very friendly and helpful the service for delivery is always free and upon arrival is always Courteous and goes over everything with you very friendly. After visiting a number of "showroom" furniture stores and finding long waiting periods for the anticipated delivery of furniture, we received a recommendation for Hakes. We found a nice selection of quality furniture that could be delivered in just a few days of the sale. This is a nice local, Ma and Pa shop with friendly sales people and great customer service. I'm not sure why anybody would want to go to any other chain store unless they wanted to over pay for expensive furniture and wait 8 to 12 weeks for delivery.

They had a great selection of products, salespeople were very helpful without feeling pressured. We bought our new sofa and chair and they were able to deliver that day for us! Delivery crew was courteous and set everything up quickly. We will definitely be back!

For several weeks we went to several furniture stores looking for a complete room set. We wanted the furniture to be solid wood. All the sites either sold it in prestressed wood or the stores that sold it in solid wood did not include the chest in the price, additionally we had to wait 6 to 8 weeks for it to be available. We went to Hake's Forniture, we found the room set, they delivered it to us after 5 days and the best thing was that the delivery was included. We recommend this place 100%.

Have known Hake's Furniture and Charlie Hake for 30+ years. Have never dealt with a company that was so courteous, where delivery was free....even out of state,,,and where you get what you pay for. Good quality furniture with great prices and service that is outstanding keeps bringing us back again and again. Most of the furniture in our home and that of our two daughters has come from Hake. Highly recommend!

Just received delivery of my new sofa and loveseat....I'm lying on it now! I got a good price, free delivery, and they​ even moved my current sofa downstairs. Should I need it, they offer service too. Everyone was so nice. Beats the "big stores" in all aspects of furniture buying! Bonus: delivery was 3-4 weeks earlier than expected.

I moved here from South Carolina and checked out other furniture stores but hakes home furnishing was wonderful. They took their time and help me get the right mattress for me and they delivered within a few days. I'm now looking for a chair for my apartment and I will be going back to this store.

They are the most unassuming furniture store in Central PA. There is nothing flashy about them however when you walk in the store you are blown away by what they have. The quality of furniture far surpasses any large store. If they dont have it on the floor they can have it built and shipped to you. They ensure what you get reflects their name.The staff are the nicest people who use old school customer service skills. They really don't need to try and sell their furniture. Their job is to ensure you know what you are purchasing. if you are looking to finally get furniture that is going to last as long as you need it to, then stop looking and go to Hakes.

Here's the deal: if you want honesty, good quality and fair price, there is no other place in York. For Amish furniture, no one has a better price, and here is the only place that delivers for free. Transparency is amazing, when you purchase here, you leave the store knowing that you done a good deal. I have visited all furniture vendors in town, and I won't go anywhere else ever again.

Great place with good honest folks. We were just shopping for prices, but we will be going there to get our furniture for sure. Quick tip, you see something you really like, pounce on it as it may not be there the next time and have to be ordered.

If you buy your furniture from a big box retailer, you're getting fleeced. Hake's sells better quality products for way less money. Every single piece of furniture in our home came from Hake's, from our kids' beds to our dining room table to our outside chairs, no regrets ever. They sell pretty much everything from Amish-made traditional pieces to more modern looks to recliners to outside poly. If you've only ever shopped at Ashley, do yourself a favor and stop here first next time.
