Friendly staff. Great looking food.

This is a great place. We went for dinner and LOVED IT! It is great for kids, and our server and the staff were so kind to go out of the way for me to put on the Masters from their TVs. The food was amazing, with a little peace symbol charred into my bun. And the dessert was excellent. Ice cream and cotton candy, WOO! This restaurant is amazing and you should definitely visit.

New Canaan institution. Best bar in town. Great cocktails, huge menu with specials all the time. Great date night or family dinner spot. Can’t go wrong. There’s a reason Gates has a regular crowd. Run don’t walk

I’m giving it five stars simply because you are guaranteed a good time here. Great bar staff, Trivia nights, live music or DJ every Saturday and the food - best Brussels Sprouts in Connecticut. Plus, the truffle fries and grilled pizza are addictive. I have visited with my family, with my girlfriends and for work meetings. A real gem and I understand why it’s been a local institution since 1979!

Excellent service. The pear salad was wonderful. Chefs doecial scallops and risotto was extremely tasty.

I went there for there 12.00 lunch specials. They had an awesome soup and salad combination that I enjoyed!! They have a pretty big salad bar and different stuff that a salad bar usually doesn't have, roasted corn, Roasted brussel sprouts. Roasted carrots,just to name a few. Plus all the stuff a salad bar usually does have. So delicious!!!! I can't wait to bring my husband there!

Excellent!!! Food was scrumptious, service was top shelf. Truly enjoyed the time there.

Gates has been in New Canaan since the 80s. Their menu and specials are kept current and delicious! The service is excellent. The casual atmosphere allows for a relaxing meal with friends or associates.

Different yet what you want. Nice ambiance. Good wine, sandwiches, fries, bread, water....what else can you crave? Cute little side street. Not pretentious but has to act a little high end to compete with surroundings.

This is one of my favorite go to restaurant, great food great service high value reasonable prices.

You can eat inside and order for delivery and pick up. Had the crispy chicken with veg and cauliflower rice. It was delicious with teriyaki sauce.

Love this place very clean very friendly. The owner is hands on I know him from going into the establishment. I definitely recommend going in for one of his tasty meals

I enjoy watching the wood fired oven. One of their signatures is their strawberry flavored butter spread for their fresh in house baked bread.

Long time New Cannan favorite with excellent food, relaxing ambiance and a large bar with great happy hour specials. Excellent wings.
