Old fashioned but worth visiting for breakfast and lunch with family. cozy environment and proactive staff with excellent service

Highly recommend this diner for some good breakfast! The inside of this tiny little place is so much fun to sit in, with the main dining room feeling like you are sitting in Grandmas house, the Lollipops to take when you are leaving, the friendly safe, and most importantly the good food you’ll feel right at home at this diner

Quaint, small-town hospitality serving delicious food with warm friendliness. Attentive service, ample portions and a very homey, comfortable atmosphere. Love this diner and highly recommend it. Got the Sadie Hawkins omelet...bacon, mushroom, spinach and cheddar... yum!

THIS is a diner! Great place for a hearty hot breakfast on a cold morning or brunch/lunch on the way home from morning chores. Pleasant service and properly prepared and plated dishes served promptly. The only negative? We didn't try it sooner.

Our breakfast this morning at Sandy Hook Diner was superb! I especially loved the crispy Hash Browns that came with my eggs as well as my husband’s extra fluffy & tasty pancakes! the service was quick, the prices were reasonable.

Very nice place. Food is good and the service is too.
Locals frequently gather there, so you get to find out about what is going on.

Honestly, I've never had a better breakfast. Dont let the outside fool you. This place has awesome food, great service, and good prices. Their corned beef hash is freshly made! I have NEVER tasted corned beef hash like this and my God I will be back for it. All the food we ordered was amazing. I make my own sausage gravy and biscuits so I'm very picky about others' but this was by far the only one I've had that is up to my standards. 10/10 would recommend and I will be back.

Great little place, and new owners/cooks. If you like Mexican breakfasts, you need to check it out. My wife and I had huevos rancheros.

This place was so much fun … we found out from the owner that it used to be an old train caboose and who doesn’t love that 🫶🏼

Food excellent. Service great. My Grandson loved the Mickey Mouse blueberry pancakes 🤩

! Returned later.... waitress was inattentive and borderline rude. Order not cooked properly but felt I was unable to work w the waitress to straighten it put. Left annoyed, disappointed and still hungry.

Saw they are under new ownership so tried again. Yeah!!! The place looks great. Redone but still cozy. The new waiter, I think he said his name was Josh, very efficient and fast. The menu is fresh and updated but glad the old standards like spinach adrift made it. Absolutely delicious. Nice save.

Cozy Hometown Diner, My go to spot for breakfast in sandy hook, usually do takeout and get it in 15 mins you can pay cash or card

Omg I would give this place 1000 stars if possible. Service 1000, food 2000 stars, aumbionc 1000. I have never had a better breakfast

Best place in town to get an amazing breakfast!! I've had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich from every place in town and they're all garbage compared to this place. there specials are always good, and their pancakes are AMAZING. the wait staff is always friendly and I've never left this place unhappy no matter what I get. It’s definitely a must try, whether it's to go or sit and eat.

This little place is what many establishments want to be! But you can not beat traditional good breakfast! Thank you for a great experience!!

Amazing food. The people are so nice and the coffee is great. All reasons to hit this little hidden gem!

Everything about the Sandy Hook Diner is just so wonderful. We found it on a recommendation from a friend, and have been going ever since. I'm thrilled to announce that they've opened back up and have taken every precaution in regard to covid-19. We were so happy to go there today and eat on the patio out back. We missed the people, the phenomenal food and the excellent coffee! They have clearly made every change just to continue to be a part of this community, so please be patient during your visit. They're working twice as hard to make our experience worth it, and it is. Tip well! They deserve our business and appreciation.

Excellent old-school dinner with both basic and inventive food. Waitresses are sometimes overwhelmed but always super nice. Sit in the small dining room or at the counter. A dying breed worth visiting. Cash only.
