Jennings Beach

A wonderful and pristine beach where dogs can enjoy playing in the sand and water. The beach is exceptionally clean, and we hope it remains so with the collective effort of all visitors. It's conveniently located near town for a quick bite to eat afterward.

I know that everyone loves Jennings and Penfield Beach during the summer when the sun, Sound and the sand bring the hoards, but during the 2 spans of time that I lived on and near (1 block) Penfield I thought it was most beautiful during the off season.
To me the sand sans people and the soft sounds of the Sound on a crisp winter morning could deliver a Zen like experience.

One of the two local beaches. Always clean. Perfect place to go fishing on the pier or just catch some fresh air and enjoy the view. It's not as sandy as the beaches on fire island, road island or long Island, but it is still a good way to catch some rays.

This beach is amazing I’m so glad that I went! There wasn’t a lot of people there the beach is huge , the sand was clean, I found a lot of seashells both large and small, ( also beautiful rocks!! The kids collect them) the water was clean, I went in the month of October on a hot day it was like 80°, and dogs were allowed on the beach(October till like March I think dogs are allowed) but they did not bother me… There were a couple instances where one or two came up to me but the owner eventually called them away that would be my only complaint if I had any, for the dogs to be leashed or at least not come and mess with my items… otherwise the beach was lovely and it was big enough for me to find my own private space and to just relax and chill. ( Also it’s important to note there is no lifeguard during these off months… So if you bring children make sure you watch them I saw a couple that we’re not being watched in the water and I’m glad that the waves did not take them…)

Decided to go someplace different with our dog and was pleasantly surprised at how nice this Beach is. Dogs are not allowed on during the summer months, only off-season and apparently they are one of the only beaches in Connecticut that allow off leash. Parking on the off season is free, however, during the summer season only free for Connecticut residents. Just wish it didn't take so long to get there, 27 miles took almost an hour.

Great beach, off-season is especially wonderful because we can bring the dogs.

Very nice beach. The sand is clean. Water is pretty clean. The washrooms are pretty clean, all things considered

It’s a pretty New England waterfront . Parking is bit pricey on Memorial Day weekend. I love the collection of colorful boats there.

Huge, clean, perfect family beach with a super nice wooden playground to boost. Parking could be a little bigger. Grills and pick nick tables on the beach. We loved it. You can see the picturesque lighthouse in the distance. Check out our trip to the beach on YouTube under Erick and Ourbacks

Beautiful beach to visit even in the winter months. Perfect for bringing your dog with a great opportunity for them to socialize with other dogs. Beautiful beach very clean! Everyone was very friendly

Nice, parking is available but need permit

Absolutely lovely. Has a nice sized beach, plenty of parking, BBQs, picnic tables, bathrooms and a food vendor. From 10am there are lifeguards. $50 per car weekends & holidays, $20 on the weekend.

Dog Park Environment today at Jennings Beach! Lots of happy dogs running free on the beach. So excited to play with each other, and chase balls... so thrilled to be able to romp around with other dogs!

Nice beach with all the necessities around- showers, running water, changing places, good food and ice cream . For non-residents the parking is $50.

Off season this beach is wonderful for dogs! Since it was super nice out today there were a bit more people than normal but overall a great place for dogs to roam and play from October through April.

One of the only pictures that I know of that does have handicap access down to the water. Ample parking nice park nice pavilion with food when open. Handicap accessible changing rooms and bathrooms. They do offer swim lessons. I think the price is 20 or $25 for the day.

Grew up go here. But was there for the 2nd annual paddle fest. Great time
