Delicious food and friendly owners. One of Newtown's best Italian restaurants. -- 2019 update: This remains one of our favorite restaurants in town. Unlike so many of the newer and ostensibly hipper eateries, it's almost never difficult to get a table here, even on their amazing patio, which has great views of downtown Sandy Hook.

Exceptional food, and the service is friendly and outstanding. Even the atmosphere is authentic.
An excellent Italian Restaurant experience in every way.

Decided to try our favorite pizza place for a sit down dinner. Wow what a treat. There was a special with app - salad - main dish and desert. Totally ate every bite. Vito knows his stuff. Can’t wait till next week to see what’s next.

The food is outstanding and it comes out quickly. The staff is extremely nice and polite. Over all it is a great dinner with very reasonable prices.

We stopped in for dinner not realizing they were closed on Mondays. There were cars in the lot so we went inside.
They were having a private party in the back room but so kindly invited us to have a meal in their dining room since they were cooking anyway. Wow! We had our own private dinner which was delicious. They went out of their way for us with smiles on their faces and the service , food, and wine were all top notch. A new fave!

We love The Villa. Food is excellent, service is always extremely friendly, atmosphere is relaxed, cost is not a burden on our wallet and wine selection does not overwhelm you. In brief- for aurhentic Italian food The Villa is the place. In these days when we go out less frequently- I strongly recommend the Villa!!! It will be our place to go to!!!

1/4 of the way through the meal the owner came and checked on us. Not many restaurants do that anymore. It was a very lovely evening.

When I first moved to Sandy Hook, The Villa was basically the only restaurant in town. Now it's been eclipsed by a number of "trendier" spots, but it remains unequalled in ambience and food quality. Spectacular stone-walled patio surrounded by exquisite landscaping, and an interior no-expense-spared dining room. Lasagna and tiramisu are two standouts, but everything is fresh and delicious.

Great food, service, and the best pizza in Newtown. The restaurant is usually pretty quiet, with pretty standard Italian dishes and specials o. the weekends. The restaurant is fairy large with more seating than they typically need, so you rarely feel like you are too close to your neighbors. They have a separate small bar and take out entrance. My family eats here often, and we are never let down. They also do a price fix menu during the week which makes the dinners very affordable.

Have been coming here when there were casks of wine with candles on the table and red n white checkered table cloths.
Though it is now a very upscale establishment, the home town, old fashioned courtesy and service has never gone out of style here!! The staff is gracious, the food is delicious every time and your hosts treat you like family! Love the Villa♡

Great Christmas Eve dinner after mass with the family. Service and food were on point. Eddie great server with outstanding personality. Vito stopped by to ensure everyone was happy...good portions , fair price...

Best restaurant in Connecticut. Must come! Servers were awesome, and the food was spectacular. Highly recommended👍🏻 The lobster Mac and cheese was out of this world.

Family owned forever. Great food. Their takeout is consistently excellent. Very friendly even for take out. Go you will not be disappointed!

Yes, their pizza is good. Yes, the environment is friendly. Yes, they have a number of great things on their menu. and Yes, I almost always order the Lasagna, because they are one of the rare few who have good Lasagna in the area. It is not cheap, but it is good.

We started with Bombay gin martinis. This was not the first time for us because they are excellently made and very generously sized. The warm bread with olives, hummus and dipping oil worked well as a starter, which they always bring with no additional charge. The salad could have had darker greens, but the dressing was really nice and served on the side, as I requested. For our entre we ordered the filet mignon with mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and demi glaze. The meat was perfectly done - mine was medium and my husband had medium-well, not easy to get right. Even the veggies were perfect - not over done or mushy and not too crispy -just right!

We have been patrons of The Villa for quite a few years and have always loved it. We chose to go there tonight so that we could support this deserving business. They have had a difficult time since the tragedy in Sandy Hook. So if you are looking for a great restaurant, try The Villa on Riverside Rd.

This was my first time and this is the best pizza in the area. Crisp Crust, Excellent sauce, on the thinner side but not too thin which is basically like the pizza I grew up with in South Jersey which has excellent pizza.

Went to s party today. About 50 people. Food was great. Staff perfect!

Got the Chicken Cordon Bleu special. Not exactly Italian, but very well cooked and delicious to boot. No one else at our table had any complaints.

This is my go-to pizza spot. Actually the entire menu is simply delicious. The staff is also very pleasant and helpful. I love this place!
