Great place to walk dogs, especially as they allow you to have the dogs off leash on the trails, as long as you are far away frpm the parking lot. Beautiful any season and far enough from houses.
I don't know anything about the Splash Pad part.

Always a relaxing though a bit of a challenge walk through the woods experience for us. Please watch out for exposed roots you might stumble into and break an ankle. There are portable toilets near the entrance, and for a lot of dog lovers this is where they go and let the dogs run free and swim. Always a pleasant experience for us to for 45 minute walks around the lake/beach/river outlet.

Well kept trail of moderate difficulty. Popular with dog owners.

Feb 2023 update. The trail has been updated and well maintained over the years. It remains very popular for pet owners.

The trail is pretty easy to navigate, despite inconsistent trail markers. There's also a lot of tree cover, so it doesn't get too hot. Dogs everywhere, it was great! Lots of great spots to sit and have lunch with a beautiful view. Not buggy and not a lot of brush on the trail. Overall a great time!

This is a comment for the general park and walking trails. Having a place like this where you can bring your dog and go for an off leash walk is such a pleasure. There is a nice area where the dogs congregate and swim in the lake. I wish there were more places like this around.

Great place. I took my dog and she had a lot of fun. Would recommend. I did not however do the beach or see the play ground. I would give it 4.8 Stars only because I didn't get the full experience.

Really good time but pretty buggy, coming from Greenwich I found it very unusual to have the police presence right down your throat to make sure that you leave right at 10:30 and were well supervised. Good times though.

Only splash pad I'm town. The beach is never crowed and the snack bar is really good.
