Black Rock Pharmacy

Everyone at Black Rock is always so helpful and lovely. However I want to give a shout out to Jason. My daughter was leaving to study abroad for several months. Getting meds for more than 3 months isn’t easy but Jason was awesome and made it happen. Then right before leaving for the airport her friend needed a vaccine before getting on the plane. Again Jason took control and got us in and out in literally 5 mins. Black Rock Pharmacy is the best!

I gave up on CVS & Walgreens. There service is a atrocious. My doctor suggested I try Black Rock Pharmacy. Couldn't be happier. You call & a person not machine answers. Not on hold for any hour. I transferred all my husband & my scripts to them & they were all filled immediately without issue.

We love Black Rock Pharmacy. They fill prescriptions fast, are super helpful if you call with questions, plus it's nice supporting a smaller business over the other large chain pharmacies.

This pharmacy is so refreshing as compared to the typical chain pharmacies. The owner Ken was a pharmacist at CVS for many years and he did a great job there and he has done a great thing by opening his own pharmacy. I trust them with my medications and they deliver. The pharmacy shop has a beautiful gift selection.

I'd always heard that Black Rock Pharmacy was great, but it seemed like a hassle to try to do anything but autopilot things to CVS. Well, CVS didn't have something I needed, wasn't able to answer the phone for info, was always severely understaffed, so I called up Black Rock Pharmacy. Not only were they able to do the work to transfer the prescription from CVS, but they had the item I needed next day - which was so helpful when I was about to be out of town. The people working there were really kind and helpful, too. I couldn't be happier to have them in our community.

Excellent customer service experience there - I went in because they have the bivalent COVID-19 vaccine and I wanted to get a booster for my mother and myself. The pharmacist Ken was extremely courteous and efficient. I like the idea of patronizing a small independent business instead of the national chains, although I live out of town so I won't be able to get back very often.

Friendly people, great service, and one of the pharmacists is a Liverpool Football Club supporter so you know they are cool.

I was going to the large chain pharmacy on Black Rock for a few months. Within that time they continuously made mistakes which led to me not being able to receive my medication in a timely manner on many occasions. I now go to Black Rock Pharmacy and every refill is available almost immediately. Ken the pharmacist has given me the best prices possible on my medications saving me money every month. The staff there are also very helpful and friendly. The drive through window is an added convenience too.

If you've been to the wallgreens or CVS in Fairfield and then switched to here, you'd know there's nothing that needs to be said.

Friendly staff, phones that are actually answered, medication is filled on time, and no insane lines!

Makes you wonder why you ever put up with the big chain stores in the first place!

I can not say enough about this place! Ken Lee is the best pharmacist and human being around. I was utterly fed up with the nonsense at CVS and switched pharmacies to Black Rock which was total night and day. Ken makes everything so much easier and I am so thankful for that.

I should have done this review a long time ago but better late than never! I started going to this place when they opened after one too many terrible experiences with CVS. The first time I dropped a prescription off and they said “is 10 minutes okay?” I have never been the same!!! I didn’t even know it was possible to not have to wait 2-5 business days for a prescription to get filled. And not to mention, they are the kindest employees you’ll ever meet - they remembered our names and constantly go above and beyond to assist you whenever there’s an issue. When my insurance changed, I didn’t even have to tell them. They we’re ready to go. Long gone are the days where I’ve had to sit on hold with CVS for 2 hours, only to have them tell me there’s nothing they can do and I have to call my doctor/insurance/etc. I have recommended them to everyone I know even though I’m scared to give up this hidden gem!! Easiest 5 stars I’ve ever given.

I wish I had come here sooner! What a wonderful place. My son and I walked in, and in less than 10 minutes received our flu shots. No waiting. Pharmacist Ken was wonderful. I will never, ever go back to the big pharmacy chain I have been using, I am switching over to this great local business. And they have a drive-thru!

Last week I finally was able to stop in for the first time. I must say I’m never going back to CVS or Walgreens. The staff is super nice and helpful. Ken the pharmacist was wonderful. It’s bright, clean and not packed. They had everything I needed and more. Even had hand sanitizers/cloth masks/peroxide. They also carry local merchants. They even have a drive up window. It’s wonderful to have a non-chain drugstore back on Black rock. Plenty of parking. Please support your local stores like this one. You won’t be disappointed. A Hometown store.

I was going to CVS down the street. WHAT A DISASTER!!! Black Rock Pharmacy is basically the exact opposite of everything Black Rock CVS... Friendly and helpful staff who ACTUALLY CARE, no long lines, a functioning drive-thru window, someone who answers the phone, and they can fill prescriptions while you wait (and, unlike CVS, "while you wait" doesn't mean that your clothing will have gone out of style by the the time they fill your prescription). They also sell Homesick Candles, old-timey candies, and other cool stuff. Much thanks to Ken for opening a great pharmacy!!!

I have mostly used a local commercial pharmacy for all my prescriptions and for the most part I rarely had any issues. Before the
chain pharmacies we had a few privately owned pharmacies in Fairfield such as Stillson's pharmacy and the pharmacy that was in Fairmart and briefly, Lupe's pharmacy so it was a hopeful sight to see Black Rock Pharmacy come into being.

Having a pharmacy that delivers is convenient, and old school as well but the true selling point is Ken and his staff. Pharmacists that are equally respectful, compassionate, and dependable on top of being at the top of their field make going to a pharmacy a trustworthy experience. Plus, they have that old school pharmacy store set up sans the soda fountain but hey, maybe that is a future endeavor.

Your pharmacy was a gem during the pandemic and I foresee Black Rock Pharmacy being a main staple in Fairfield's small business community.

Being caught-up in the national chain stores has been an evolving practice as the neighborhood independently owned pharmacies were closing to these Superstore open all night behemoths became the mainstay for our Rx’s. It wasn’t until these huge get it all in one stop places took the personalized service out of the equation and we became #s and weren’t treated with care that people (Like myself) craved that personal touch again , being greeted by name, have a person pick-up and speak to you when you call, these are the things Black Rock Pharmacy has brought back into our lives. Ken and his staff are all consumet professionals who care about your entire experience while in the confines of the store. I applaud their practices and say thank you. KK

Consistently the BEST service. Efficient, caring, pleasant interactions every single time I go in for a prescription, vaccine, or anything. Made the switch last year from the “big guys” down the street, and let me just say… I really wish we had done it sooner.

Only good things to say about Black Rock Pharmacy and Ken (and Scott). If you go to one of the local chain pharmacies, you will be in for the greatest surprise when you give BRP a try! Like night and day! You will wish you had switched over a long time ago -- I promise!
