Glacier Memorial Gardens

Beautiful and well kept memorial park. The groundskeepers do a great job of supervising the park and there is a small shed where the map is for the plots. Glad to have this resource available in Kalispell.

The grounds are lovely & clean. Everything was very peaceful. The view is calming. The staff was helpful & understanding. It had been many years since I had been there & it's everything I remember.

Yesterday, May 28th, 2018 my husband and I went to the cemetery to put flowers on his parents grave. We thought we knew exactly where they were but after searching for a while we realized that their head stones were covered with sod/grass. We could barely see the top portion of his mothers name, his fathers name was completely covered with thick sod, all we could see was a portion of his date of death. This is supposed to be a perpetual care cemetery. Perpetual means they are cared for in a respectful manner. Obviously to them this does not include keeping the headstones visible. We stopped in the cemetery office to get an explanation, we were told they do them annually, which cannot be true since it was not just grass but sod. He said that since they had 6800 graves it's difficult to do them all but if we CALL before we come they will make sure ours grave sites are cleaned and edged. WE went to Lowes, bought tools and spent the next hour cleaning them ourselves. We don't live in Kalispell but I assure when when we can be there again the cemetery will be our first stop and we won't be calling before hand since care of their headstone was part of the purchase of their plots.
