Rich is a pleasure to work with, a talented stained glass artist and meticulous master of all things related to lighting. His pricing is reasonable, turnaround times are quicker than expected, and his advice is always extremely thoughtful and professional. Rich refurbished the lamp in this photo and created the beautiful shade himself. Im looking for more lights to bring to him!

We have worked with Rich a few times over the years and can not recommend him enough. He is extremely talented and thoughtful. He will walk you through different options as he thinks through the architecture, aesthetics, vibe, coloring, etc of the space you need to light.

I could not be more thrilled with my experience at Discount Lighting Outlet! I went in looking for vintage fixtures and found two beautifully restored crystal chandeliers from the 1920’s - 1940’s Pre-World War era that looked brand new. Rich had restored these one-of-a-kind pieces and re-stained the fixture to a brushed nickel, re-wired the electrical, and polished the crystal so it sparkled! You cannot buy pieces like this today without paying a mint and his chandeliers are very affordable! In addition to his work on the pieces, he delicately hand delivered and installed the chandeliers - an electrician would not have been as careful with these special fixtures. I also have a very old house with electrical quirks and Rich fortunately had the parts needed to complete the install. The store is filled with one of a kind pieces, including his handmade glass. I purchased a third gorgeous decorative matte white lamp with a floral sculpted design and Rich was able to custom fit a blue and white gingham shade to the lamp base. He is currently restoring a fixture from my home and I cannot be more excited to see how he reinvents the piece!

I have a strange old lamp that has made its way through the family into my hands. It was in need of a lot of care and attention...the finish was chipping off and the original wiring needed to be updated. The owner was an absolute delight to work with! Very patient and knowledgeable, he re-finished the metal parts, cleaned the glass, and put in a new switch and wiring. This 100-year-old lamp looks as good as new, and has a new place of pride in my sitting room! I had a WONDERFUL experience and I will always bring any lamp projects here now. Positive. Purchased an aged chandelier (literally what I had been searching for and imagined) and the price was excellent/reasonable. I would have paid much more for less anywhere else. In addition to finding the chandelier I sought, the customer service was direct and positive as well. No complaints, planning to go soon again for other lighting needs.

We bought one of Rich's unique crafted lamps about a year ago and absolutely love it. So when we had one of our lamps that needed a repair I knew where to go. I called ahead and he had the parts ready at the desk to fix it, and did it in about 5 minutes. He also noticed that the lamp had a warm out part and offered to order a new part for me as well. You can tell just by meeting him that he is very passionate about his work and it comes through.

I am so grateful to have done business with someone who is truly an artist, with great passion and knowledge. I brought a lamp in to be fixed and his knowledge of the time period allowed me to get the perfect shade and his workmanship is outstanding! Great gratitude to him for his sincere passion in restoring my heirloom lamp! Cannot tell you enough, this is the place to go!

I have dealt with Rich for years and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else. He carries quality merchandise but more importantly he knows all about lighting and makes great recommendations. Also, he does great repair work which is hard to find these days. He combined parts from several different lights to build me a custom fixture that I could never have found otherwise. It pays to deal with a small business because the owner is deeply invested in satisfying his customers. Rich’s skills are a dying art. Rich’s courtesy is a dying attitude. We've used Discount Lighting for more than 20 years now. When we built our existing house 16 years ago, we took the plans to Dan and Rick and they helped us to choose every fixture and also suggested placement of lighting that we hadn't even thought of. We saw the fixture we wanted for our foyer at another store, and DL was able to get it for us, saving around $400. We're currently building a new house in North Carolina and plan to get most of the fixtures from DL - they have the best service and prices around. (I'll just carry all those lights to NC in my car!)
