Uncle D's Diner

Staying in Hartford for the weekend and came across this small, lovely diner just by looking on Google Maps. Since I love trying new diners, I figured why not. And boy was I right! The food and drink is absolutely delicious! Rich hot chocolate (and my waitress piled it high with whipped cream😍), and my eggs with toast were good. My boyfriend got chocolate milk, which was also rich and tasted like the homemade chocolate milk we see at home in Pennsylvania. His sausage, egg and biscuit meal was delicious and had a small kick to it. The biscuit had a crisp to it, even after being smothered in gravy. Homefries were seasoned perfectly. We will definitely be coming back here when we're in Hartford!

This place was jamming. Busy but service with urgency. Very friendly and inviting staff. Uncle D was actively engaging with guest and that speaks volumes. Food was on point.

I took my son here for a bday breakfast celebration and the owner was so friendly he even had the kitchen make a pancake stake for a cake with candle and everything. It made him feel special and it was a nice experience. The food was fresh and served quickly. The inside is cool and the parking is minimal but not too bad.

First time at Uncle D’s I was turned off because the outside looked like Waffle House. I wanted a healthy choice of breakfast and I thought this wasn't the place.
But after I got inside was seated and got the menu, I was blown back. This is no Waffle House. The food was fresh and pleasing. Our waitress was pleasant and ensured we were satisfied with our meals. The place was full and the wait time was short.
I give Uncle D’s 5 ✨. Try them you won't be disappointed.

This diner has recently celebrated 10 years and will go strong the next 10!

My favorite, is the Real corned beef hash with my eggs for breakfast.

Better get here early, this is a highly preferred meal.
I heard customers calling ahead, to make certain there will be corned beef on the menu.

Uncle D's son runs the diner and gives a personal touch to your visit.
All the staff out front serve with a smile from the heart.

Omg absolutely amazing diner!! I wish I had taken a picture of this amazing mickey mouse pancake they made for my toddler. And everyone was so friendly and nice and absolutely was loving my little ham of a daughter. I will absolutely have to go again and bring my older daughter on a day she's not at school to check out this gem. So glad my friend had us go here and showed me this place ♡♡♡

The BEST diner in this area and they serve breakfast all day! But if you're hungry for a taco or burger at 9am, you can indulge in that as well since their entire menu is available all day. Uncle D's is my go to after an early morning shift. Everything is delicious, cooked to order with quick, friendly service. Servings are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. I highly recommend.

It's pretty busy, but waiter was friendly and kind :) Inside was cool as well. I'd love to visit again!

Love this place. The food is great if you like diners. Their portions are huge. The place is usually super crowded on weekends so fair warning if you don't like crowded spaces.

What a great place! So cute, clean & our meals were tasty. A good portion for a good price. The staff was very friendly.

A friend recommended this little spot for food, as we are from the other side of CT. My 11 year old daughter and I decided to try it out. We were not disappointed! We started with fresh orange juice and fresh home brewed unsweetened iced tea. They are delicious. Next we got a crock of French Onion soup. It was delicious, overflowing with melty cheese, croutons, soft sweet onion slices. We ate it til the last drop! For lunch we ordered chicken tenders and onion rings, and a BBQ chicken melt on Texas toast. They are excellent! My daughter couldn't resist and dove right in before I could snap a pic of her tenders haha! Large portions, cooked to perfection, hot and fresh! I am so pleased and will be back every time I'm in the area!

Love this place! The food is amazing and the owner is visible talking with patrons with a big smile. It's wonderful! The service is fast, portions for the price is great. My daughters added the eyes and mouth. I thought it was cute.

What a beautiful experience since the beginning to the end. I will give them more than 5 stars if I could. Since we entered we received a great welcome from the host with a big smile. Our waitress Debbie (not sure about her name) was so friendly and on point. We had Uncle D stopped by our table offered our boys Donalds and the kids were delighted; he was a very humble man so friendly and funny. That’s how an owner should be. The food was amazing it tasted so fresh. We ordered two eggs over easy with fries and sausage, pancakes are huge and delicious (homemade), cheese and ham omelet made with perfection. Everything tasted so fresh.

Great tasting food in big portions and great service. An old 50's motif, the place is always buzzing with people. Truly worth stopping by for a bite to eat.

Stopped here on our way from NYC to Boston and it was a great American diner experience. Busy and buzzy, great friendly service, good diner food, loved it.

Great clean and unique atmosphere. Someone playing live music some mornings makes it special. The food and specials are always excellent. The waitstaff is always engaging and friendly. Orders are on point. Coffee could be a tiny bit better, just think it could be stronger but that’s me.. otherwise I LOVE THIS PLACE it deserves 5 stars plus. I always meant to leave a review and never did. Finally doing it now. Check this place out you’ll be glad you did!

My family and I had the best time at Uncle D’s Diner. We were in town for our daughter’s soccer game and are pretty good at finding good spots where ever we go. This was extra special. The food was great, tasty with diner size portions. But the staff was so inviting and engaging and fun. Highly recommend- they will make you feel like family too!

First time experiencing this place. Different choices of coffee which I really enjoy. Food was very filling and made just to order, especially my over easy and over medium eggs! Close to my house to! Definitely will return

Great place if you want to experience a real American Breakfast in the right environment. Everything tastes wonderful. Get the full experience trying great pancakes with real maple syrup and the different egg dishes. You will feel like in the movies!
