Rise and Shine Cafe

We are there often. A nice cozy small town cafe. The service always has a smile. The food is your typical breakfast and lunch spread although some of the specials are really good.
I highly recommend a try and have a cup of coffee and some comfort food.

Definitely a place to rise and shine. The best part of this cafe is the personality. I feel as though I am at a friend’s house with mom makin’ breakfast. The Chef is terrific and makes you feel at home. The menu is extensive and everything looks delicious. You get a lot for your money and if I lived closer this would be my breakfast spot.

Great homemade corned beef and eggs over easy, perfectly cooked. It's very difficult these days to find a restaurant that makes corn beef from scratch and not the junk that comes out of a can. Excellent service and the waitress could not have been sweeter. Highly recommend.

We’ve been loyal customers of Rise and Shine for years now. There are so many things that keep us going back. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. We usually have Paula as our waitress, and she is amazing! Coffee is poured hot and fast, and we don’t wait long to order and receive our food. It’s always been well prepared, fresh and delicious. We really like the fresh muffins by the register, and often take some to go. The prices are reasonable and I have no doubt if we ever had any issues, they would be quickly resolved. Highly recommend!

Discovered recently, I go there pretty often. I don't go alone and we are very happy with everything. A place worth trying if you want old fashioned service along with very good quality food.

I've always experienced friendly staff and good food. My wife even liked it and she is not a fan of diners. The regulars there are from the neighborhood but everyone should feel welcome. You get the feeling that you should mind your business and manners while here which I consider a positive. Not for everyone but if you get this review, you will like it.

A hidden gem! I never would have known it was there if it wasn't the only place close by and open on Google Maps. So glad it was though, because it's for sure going to be my Saturday morning spot after a Friday night out. It's super cozy, with a strong small town diner feeling. The staff are so so nice, and will happily strike up a conversation, and the food is exactly what you want it to be. The portions are reasonably sized, so you can get all the things you would want with a regular breakfast, and not leave feeling sick from eating all of it. And it's very well priced too. I highly recommend it if you want breakfast and are in the area, I will definitely be back many times!

I have been here before. What a great little spot. Food is wonderful, service is amazing, and the prices are fair.

Best sausage gravy over biscuits I've ever had. A little spice in the gravy, perfect biscuits. Everything is delicious, great new England welcoming feel.

I had the most delicious Very Berry French toast. So crisp on outer edge of thick bread . Raspberries, strawberries & blueberries delivered an incredible sweetness! So tasty!!

It truly was a homestyle dining. The place has been in business for 12 years as evidenced by the regular crowd and Claudia's knowledge of what they regularly order. It's just like visiting your family, at least that's the vibe we got today. I got the sausage, gravy and biscuit..gravy is homemade..freshly made, savory and mildly spiced. Eggs cooked perfectly as how I wanted it to be. My style of eggs not over easy not over hard and they got it! Hubby got Angus burger cooked perfectly. Endless coffee and Claudia was very attentive to all her 'guests'. Will definitely come back again and try their soups.

Moved close by and tried them. Best breakfast in CT in my opinion. Always good with exciting specials.

Excellent food, great menu, large portions, great coffee, very good service, friendly atmosphere, clean and comfortable. Truly a rewarding experience. If you haven't tried them yet, you're missing out. (Breakfast hint: try the Biscuits & Gravy. )('To die for'.)

I recently moved nearby and my girlfriend and I decided to stop by one morning for breakfast. This place is very cute and feels like a hidden gem. Had that old towny feel with good breakfast and friendly service. We will definitely be going there again.

My husband had an appointment at Middlesex Hospital, so I decided to order some breakfast to go. The lady working there (I assume it was the owner) was very sweet and helped me take my order out to my car. The food was delicious. I ordered the banana bread French toast with home fries. I will definitely be back.
