The Mattabesett Canoe Club

I recently threw my mother a surprise birthday party and the Canoe Club and they couldn't have done a better job. Aside from the professionalism of the staff and owner, the food was outstanding, and nothing beats the panoramic views. Beautiful place to enjoy their food at their patio. We had clam chowder, a hamburger and the salmon dish. We also ordered Piñas coladas and red sangrias. Everything was on point. Our waiter was very friendly and polite.

Love the food, the view is beautiful, and staff very friendly. Can’t wait to go back !!!!!

nice scenery cold beer and good food good service

Great place to eat, 1/2 hr wait on a Saturday Eve. But the walk along the CT river is beautiful while waiting for a table. Boats were pulling up for a doc n done. Band was playing and 90% of the menu is under $20 for the main course except for the seasonal catch(lobster rolls) service and food both great..Tnks for a nice evening.

We enjoyed our family gathering here Sunday afternoon. The food was outstanding, very tasty and the portions were large. The beautiful views from the second floor overlooking the CT River and the Arrogoni Bridge as well as the live music below were amazing! Truly a a lovely, classy, and fun environment and of course the weather was absolutely perfect as well! The staff and owner were very attentive. We all enjoyed ourselves and are truly grateful we could share this special day together at The Mattabesett Canoe Club.

I recently started hosting Country Night there and have not been disappointed with the generous food, amazing service and professionalism between them and my services. Many of my customers are happy with the venue and look forward to more events there! And having gone to other parties there, I look forward to being a returning customer as well.

Micaela was the nicest server I've ever had. She was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed I will always ask for her section. She was 100% right that lobster roll was AMAZING and I'll get the same thing everytime I go there.

Beautiful view during a afternoon visit on Oct 18th . Didn't stop in but visit the Harbor Park .

Update Visted on Sunday Afternoon on October,21,2018. My Husband and I were out for a joyride and was visiting the Harbor view and decided to stop in and have a afternoon cocktail . Was greeted with a smile by the hostess who was kind enough to walk us up the stairs and do to the weather being colder. The beauty of the view definitely warmed our souls and delightful cozy afternoon getaway destinations ! My Husband had a White Russian and I had Red Sangria that was wonderful
Touch. We were seated on the couch but we wanted to take a closer view at a table near by the window. Such heavens. Definitely will be back for Sunday brunch next time .

Great place for Dancing Salsa Thursdays and Saturdays

We had our 2014 company holiday party here and it was an amazingly fun and well put together event. We had so many crazy demands and it couldn’t have gone smoother. They moved all of their furniture around for us, changed their entire drink menu in a half hour for our holiday drink specials, and accommodated our giant projector screen. Their DJ got our entire staff up and dancing, and entertained all of our song requests. We still can’t believe that they let us go so long over our paid time just because of all the fun we were having! We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or a more gracious host! We will definitely be coming back again and again!

I highly recommend this Club.

I love any restaurant that is located by the water! The food is good here and they have live music! They are great for booking private parties! I almost always have a great time there.

This is really a restaurant you have to experiance! The view for itself ! The food is really good, the new lounge on the second floor looks so modern and stylish, with even a better view ! They have soooo many different specials during the week, you can’t get tired of it.

Great food and great location. Beautiful view sitting by the waterfront. Highly recommended for an afternoon lunch in the summer. Reasonable prices.

Excellent establishment, from the staff, to the owner, to the location (right on the CT River). I highly recommend them for drinks on the patio, dinner, or for any events you might be having! Top notch!
