One of the best bakeries in New Haven. Their cakes are made in heaven. Call ahead, usually they do not have much on shelf/racks. Some cakes need order be placed 24 hours ahead.

Oh my goodness... I called Marjolaine craving some cookies with "jam in them". I wanted to bring them to a group getaway in upstate New York. Despite my cryptic "jam cookies" request, Marjolaine surprised me with the MOST delicious treats: raspberry jam sandwich cookies dipped in chocolate. I have not stopped thinking about them since. And the cookies did not last long with our group -- they were eaten for dessert and then breakfast the next morning! I cannot recommend this bakery enough. Such sweet and helpful staff with an amazing product. Thank you so much Marjolaine and team!

Ordered a cake last minute for a birthday party. The staff was so helpful and made sure the cake was ready when it was needed. Everyone at the party was raving about the cake; the taste and presentation were divine. Would definitely order another cake from here again.

Absolutely delicious!!! We drove an hour to pick up our Swedish Princess Cake, It was so moist it almost melted in our mouths. We also picked up a chocolate peanut butter dessert that tasted like a Snickers, a Cannoli (I was told later that it was the best ever), and a tiny cheesecake tipped with strawberries (I was told that was also creamy and delicious). The service was excellent, including when I was ordering over the phone. Super patient and nice...great customer service!

We worked with this bakery a few times for our company holiday party and we were so impressed. Our employees loved the cakes and pastries. Especially the chocolate yule log cake. If you love chocolate, this cake is spectacular!!!! We over purchased because the selection was so delicious; so we bought to go boxes and left them on the desert table so people could take goodies home. This bakery is a must try. We are asking them to cater our 2023 holiday party again this year. Can't wait.

I had cannoli and cupcakes - both delicious and the decorations were adorable! Prices were about as expected for a fancy bakery - not cheap but not ridiculous either. Cashier was friendly and let me take my time picking what I wanted.

If I could give this place six stars I would. I highly recommend the fresh fruit tart. Love the family atmosphere!!

We've only been here a few times, mostly on the occasion of picking up last-minute birthday cakes, but every single time we get a winner. It was my sister-in-laws birthday last week, and we'd procrastinated finding her a cake. She's 12 and we figured at worst, we'll go grab something at Stop and Shop. We decided to stop by Marjolaine's and at first, we were a little disappointed that there was only one cake in the display. Unassuming, white frosting with little flowers, cute but simple. We figured we'd give it a shot, and we were so glad we did. It was custard-filled and my husband could not stop talking about how delicious it was! This isn't the first time we've needed an "emergency" cake from here and it won't be the last, they're always on point.

The chocolatier Melt share the space and saved my marriage on Valentine's day with their delicious assortment of truffles. I am glad I got the small box because my wife sampled each of the ones o purchased in the small box. when I told her about the large box she asked my why I didn't get it. thanks...

Wow!! Just stopped by for a pastry and received a wonderful recommendation to try the strawberry cheese danish and it was INCREDIBLE!!! I wish I could add a photo but I ate it too quickly it was divine!

Wow! Let me tell you! Atmosphere? Great, you come in and you feel like you can stay there for hours. I specifically love their tarts and quiché...they are absolutely delicious. And let’s not get it started with all their pastries. They really put their time, effort, passion and love into all they do! Love the strawberry shortcake and the fresh fruit tarts. This has been a staple Bakery for Holiday cakes in our Family for years.

Everything in there appears fresh and looks delicious.

The staff is friendly, you can place an order over the phone or online and it’s ready when you arrive as requested.

I'm still thinking about that blueberry danish I grabbed here. It was so good, I will be sure to stop by on my next trip out east. They had homemade Snickers candy bars available that were very tasty too.

Made a beautiful chocolate strawberry cake with a turnaround of 5 hours for only $26!! The cake looked amazing and tasted great. Their frosting was especially good because it wasn't overly sweet like most store bought frostings. The fresh strawberries in the cake were perfectly ripe. Since there wasn't room for our requested text on the top of the cake they wrote it in frosting on the cake platter around the edge - very creative solution! Do yourself a favor and get all your cakes from this place.

I love going here for the holidays I feel some of their prices are very high while other items like cookies are incredibly low which actually is amazing. I have been to places like Libby's before and a pound of cookies to them is like five cookies. Marjolaine doesn't discriminate and gives you a nice big handful. So thanks guys! Their cakes are beautiful and so are their pies.
