I came here for the day, arriving in the early morning and leaving late at night. The drive to Prana from Manhattan was beautiful as we left the city and headed into the inviting Connecticut woods. The nearby city of Kent was beautiful, with many shops and restaurants, and as we got closer to Cornwall Bridge, we saw spectacular scenery including a beautiful waterfall. There is a stunning covered bridge in the village and it is very peaceful and quiet.

Once we arrived at Prana Residence & Spa, I immediately felt relief. I put the hustle and bustle of Manhattan behind me and was happy to relax in this interesting igloo-like structure. Inside it's beautiful with a fireplace to warm us and I flopped on a couch to have some snacks and chill. The view from the window overlooks a woodsy scene, with deer in the distance.

But by far the best part about Prana are the amenities! This place has an indoor pool (heated) where you can actually swim laps; a jacuzzi in the master bedroom, a dry sauna that can seat your whole crew of 6, a cold plunge (after the sauna), and best of all and outdoor hot tub where you can look up and see all the stars--because there is hardly any pollution out here. That was amazing and I will never forget it. It's the amenities that will bring me back here. Definitely check out the photos I posted--it will give you a better picture of the place.

I've stayed at Prana 2 times. It's great place! I'm a "city boy" so I don't get out of New York City often. But it was a great experience! I spent a good while just marveling at how the house looked and the amenities were great (pool, sauna etc.). Also if you just want a place to take it easy with some nice nature and scenery I don't know any other places as serene. Its good in any season, summer or even winter (in hot water with snow outside is something I've never experienced before!) I recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway or vacation rental 100%!

I still remember my feelings when I visited Prana Residence - Spa. It seemed like I left all my worries behind and felt completely at peace. Swimming and spas are not my cup of tea, but having the private pool to ourselves was very pleasant. Sitting in the hot tub at night under the stars was memorable. The house and its surroundings are great for relaxation and rejuvenation. I was with a few friends and we all felt uplifted. Pictures cannot fully express the feeling of being there -- it's a must see place for everyone.

My husband I spent the best Thanksgiving weekend at Prana. This experience was like a fantasy dream! Prana is not a boring, common or a big-box house; instead, it is an interesting, unique, gigantic white statue consisting of irregular facades and inner spaces. Living in such a novel architecture, one will find pleasant surprises, such as the solarium, the sauna, the indoor swimming pool, cozy and hot tub. All of them send off an inspiring and pure and fresh feeling and make you feel relaxed and peaceful. If you want to run away from tired armored concrete forests, and enjoy a free life as birds do, please go to Prana! It will bring you out of reality to a world of tranquility and inspiration

'My husband Warren and I visited the Prana House several times, but the best time was over a weekend last May. It was a really delightful time that we spent in such a comfortable and sexy location. Completely different from other spas and resorts that we already visited, Prana was a pure dream. it is a combination of a familiar atmosphere with all the facilities that you can find in well-known spas with some important differences : is is unique, private and cozy.

The exterior ha an impressive shape, inside, we found sich pleasant surprises, as a solarium, sauna and indoor pool. At the evening, we could light the fireplace, cook and drink wine in the beautiful winter garden. What more can I say? Only that you can take long walks under the trees, go to the charming town and chat with local people. it is so special that I could completely forget that we were only 2 hours from New York City.

If you want to rum away fro tired concrete forests and enjoy listening to birds in the morning and also to feel a fresh air, you have to stay in Prana, at least one time in your life! "

I arrived for my visit on a beautiful autumn day, just before twilight, after a leisurely drive through the spectacular countryside, and my first glimpse of the "igloo" house glowing through the trees nearly took my breath away. Nestled in the woods, the facility sits like a bluff, belonging just as much to its surroundings as do the lovely old wooden houses in the nearby towns we associate with rural Connecticut.

The physical structure itself is so unusual, that upon entering, you are swiftly but subtly brought into a spiritual dimension, one of warmth and calm serenity. My interest was in the architecture, and the experience brought about in the different spaces--how, for instance, the cozy invitation of the fireplace in the soaring main room with its spiral staircase contrasted with the protected cocoon-like feeling in the spa areas. The relationship of interior space to the outdoors is so skillfully managed, too, that you're immersed in nature, while at the same time feeling completely sheltered.

Since I visited, I've intensified my yoga practice, and I look forward to coming back in every season. I think the key words to describe Prana Residence and Spa, for me, would be "calm connectedness," and I'd especially recommend it to anyone seeking to recharge themselves after the stress and bustle of urban life.

Have you ever wanted to spend some time in a large, airy, comfortable, inviting igloo? How about a lovely and relaxing spa where you can rejuvenate your mind and body from the stresses of everyday life? I had both experiences at once in this unique place – unconventional & interesting architecture to enjoy and wonderfully revitalizing spa facilities. Ah, the spa! – the hot, hot sauna, the cool, sunlit, geodesic-domed swimming pool (how exhilarating to fall out of bed in the rosy dawn & fall into gorgeous aqua waters), and soaking in the bubbling hot tub outdoors under the stars.

I’ll never forget the beautiful, almost spiritual, lunch we had in the solarium and the fireplace is an ideal place to gather and share intimate stories in the evening. The tranquil and secluded nature-setting embracing the house provided even more opportunities to de-stress and re-center myself. I also discovered quaint villages and towns nearby with antique stores and ice cream parlors. I can’t wait to return for more – the waterfall park I glimpsed on the drive to Prana has also been calling me back like a siren song.

Prana Residence & Spa is great! I was there with a friend in April and had a very pleasant stay.
• Spacious living area with a fireplace.
• Heated swimming pool is large enough for laps.
• Outdoor hot tub after swimming is a must.
• Great attractions in the area: kayaking, fishing, cycling and more.
• Massage, catering, and chef-on-call services are available upon request.
Highly recommended for couples and families looking for a weekend getaway from the NYC area.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Prana Residence. For me, it was a body, mind, soul experience, being a self aware person. Darcel felt a connection with nature, living in NYC all his life. He said, his experience was soothing and calm, being in this beautiful place, away from the city.
