Formosa Asian Fusion Restaurant

Formosa is the best restaurant in North Haven and the best Asian food within 40 minute mile radius. All of their dishes we tried have been excellent especially the General Tso Chicken, Honey Walnut Shrimp, lo mein, pork fired rice, beef dishes, and sushi. Most importantly they prepare proper fried rice. It has taken a long time to find good fried rice in the New Haven county but here it's fried it has egg and lots of veggies and is perfect it's not the dyed yellow kind that a lot of other restaurants prepare. The vegetables are always very fresh they use wonderful amounts of garlic and fresh ginger. The lunch specials are a fantastic deal when you dine in you will be impressed with the presentation. It may be more expensive than other Chinese restaurants in the area but for us take out is a treat so we don't mind spending the extra money for high quality high quality food.

This resturant has treated me like family since the first day I went. Best food I've ever had in my entire life. We make a trip here every weekend! Friendly and attentive staff. 100/10 would recommend to anyone.

This is my favorite Asian restaurant! The owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Service is fast, and they are helpful with questions or requests. I order the dry sautéed crispy beef, and sometimes I ask for it less spicy then normal, and it's never a problem. The dining room is spacious and decorated nicely. There is a large menu featuring sushi, Japanese, and Chinese dishes. Everything I've tasted has been superb! The cocktail menu is great as well. I highly recommend a visit, it's worth driving an hour for this food, believe it.

I will definitely be coming back! I ordered some sushi for takeout but didn't time it right, so I ended up eating while driving. It was so good still! Even though I was stressed trying to get back from lunch, I fully enjoyed it! I got the eel and cucumber sushi. I will definitely be back to eat in house and I'm bringing my family with me!

BEST sushi in CT, they have a variety of options to choose from. They never fail to deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction. Our food is always served hot & fast. I am amazed by how elegant & orderly this restaurant is.

I honestly could not give a better review of this place! I typically visit Kama in Stratford for my sushi buffet-style needs, but my first time at Formosa was magical. The restaurant was decorated beautifully, the staff was courteous and *very* attentive, and it was easy to relax and enjoy your time there. I love Kama, but if you'd like to got a bit more of an upscale place with similar prices and more doting service, this is the place to go! :)

Hadn't been to Formosa for quite some time. The food is incomparably good. Next trip will be sooner rather than later. I'm sorry I'd forgotten just how good it is. The vegetarian hot and sour soup is very god and the twice sauteed pork so much better than most places. Yum.

My absolute favorite Chinese restaurant. From the day they have opened they have been consistant with how they make they're dishes. Delicious food that's not thrown together and true to Asian cooking. A foodie will understand what I mean by this. The sushi melts in your mouth it's so fresh. The mango drink that Raymond makes is top notch. Kudos!

I highly recommend the General Tso's and the Pad Thai. The lunch prices are very reasonable and you receive plenty of delicious food. The sushi is okay, not amazing, but not at all bad. The service is always prompt and courteous.

We come here often. The sushi deal is outrageous. You can't be it. Been to other places that boast unlimited sushi, Formosa Asian Fusion out does them all. We sit at the bar and the food keeps coming and coming. Plus they have Blue Bunny ice cream!!! :--)

Authentic Chinese dishes, and the small sampling of sushi I had was pretty good for the New Haven area. The prices are reasonable, and being fusion place means you can satisfy two cravings at once. We'll definitely be going back here to talk to Kyla and her kind and attentive staff.

Words for this Restaurant aren't available. Perfect fusion of flavors Asian and European mix. the dandan noodles excellent I have a weakness for crispy duck and Peking duck. Look no further not a piece left. Home style brisket. All of it was over the top. Shopping in North Haven? No Panera or Olive garden 2 miles away on RT 17 huge menu and the owners are jems they keep checking in on you sushi too. Great prices

The food was fantastic and a fair price. Everything is homemade and tastes just like it, not the cheap takeout food quality.

Tried the sushi buffet and it outdid Sushi X or Sushi Palace, for a similar price. This is the type of buffet where you order what you want to eat and it is prepared fresh for you. The kitchen menu for the buffet includes big portions of pineapple fried rice, dan dan noodles, and even vegetable lo mein. Can you ask for anything more? And their sushi options include smoked salmon! All the fish is incredibly fresh, the rolls seasoned beautifully, and presented elegantly.

The place itself is very fancy and clean, so there are no complaints. The staff are incredibly nice and attentive. Definitely recommending this place to anybody who is craving authentic Asian cuisine.

Excellent food and great variety! Loved it. One of us had all u can eat sushi he said it was fabulous and the cooked whole. Fish and seafood in birdnest. Plus apps. Sooo good!

Outstanding restaurant, great family owned service, and high quality food. We even had Christmas Eve here one year and it was awesome.

Formosa makes the best Asian Cuisine in North Haven!! Their restaurant is clean and beautiful, and the food is delicious. They are are a bit pricier than their competitors, but in this case, you get what you pay for! I highly recommend Formosa!
