The Corner Restaurant

The Corner Restaurant is a true hidden gem in the heart of downtown Milford. The cafe radiated warmth with its great people and even better food. The chef showcased exceptional creativity, offering fun twists on classical dishes that we'd typically find in pricier establishments. Their internationally-infused take on American delights provides a pleasant surprise, and the imaginative drinks served in quirky cups are noteworthy. The portions are sensible, and the variety on the menu is praiseworthy. Although the atmosphere might come across as slightly run-down, it remains functional and contributes to the charm of this quaint neighborhood eatery. Without a doubt, this is a spot we are eager to revisit.

We finally got into The Corner after a few tries. The place fills up quickly for weekend breakfast/brunch and we understand why. We recommend beating the church crowd if you plan on visiting on a Sunday.

Overall, the food was fantastic, and the specialty coffees were fun and well crafted. Pictured are the Tasso wrap and the African Hash. Both came recommended by our waitress and did not disappoint. The African hash is not quite American Style. It is more pate over English muffin, which is something I wasn't expecting, but it was still delicious.

Both dishes were massive, and we struggled to finish our plates.

The restaurant is totally decorated for Christmas. The special holiday coffee and teas are excellent. Our 3 breakfast entrees were delicious!

Small breakfast and lunch joint in downtown Milford. Went early for brunch with some friends and was not disappointed. We split the trio french toast and I got the chicken arepa breakfast. All delicious. Recommend going early if you want to sit inside and for parking. It’s cash only.

Such a cute low key place! The service was great and the people were very friendly. The food was also very good.

My husband and I walked in because we had seen great reviews, and we walked out understanding why! With so many unique options on the menu, we ended up choosing the pork belly with eggs in pesto over toast and also the apple / cinnamon / raisin stuffed French toast. They were excellent along with our coffee.

They were also extremely accommodating of our 2 year old. With nice touches to help parents, you could tell they understood the dynamics of dining with a toddler.

Came in around Noon on a Saturday. It was cold outside, so seating was only available inside. The restaurant was full, but we didn’t have to wait long to be seated.

Food is packed with an array of flavors! We went savory AND sweet, and split it between the two of us.

The staff were very friendly, and ambiance is homey.

Definitely coming back!

The Corner Restaurant is so fun and unique. You walk in and just feel like you are at a family members home. The waitresses are friendly and informative as well as quick. The kitchen is fast and they make delicious & simple food and bring it to an entirely new level. Their warm beverages make you want to take one to go (we did!). We will definitely be returning! Their prices are fair BUT BRING CASH!!! If you don't, they have an ATM.

My gf and I went to brunch here on Sunday - our second time visiting. Like our first visit, the food was great, our server was friendly and helpful. We sat outside and it was a good vibe. Definitely check out The Corner Restaurant when you’re in Milford!

We were staying in a nearby hotel on our honeymoon and decided to pop in for breakfast. One of the best decisions I have ever made.

The staff were so sweet and went above and beyond for us. They were so personable and as soon as they found out we were on our honeymoon, they added little touches to make our meal extra special.

Came here after being highly recommended by a friend. Was super happy with my visit. The food was delicious and the service was great! I love the quaint and homie vibes this place has to offer. Their almond coffee is a must try. Everything on the menu sounded so amazing it was hard to choose just one. Looking forward to coming back and trying more items off the menu!

This truly is the best breakfast spot in CT. I’ve tried the blackened eggs, african hash, french toast, and pancakes. Everything has been exceptional. My personal favorite is the blackened eggs. The seasoning is delicious and it’s always cooked perfectly. Staff is always friendly and manages to run things smoothly despite how busy it gets

I finally had time to myself to check out The Corner, and I am 100% sold on why people rave about it!

First off, it's in an absolutely charming location. The decor and atmosphere are cozy to a point of reminding me of my own home. The staff are all incredibly friendly and attentive, which adds that much more to the experience.

My first visit I tried the Flaky French Flatbread, branching well outside of my typical habits. I'm not often a fan of smoked Gouda, but the overall combination with the eggs, onions and hollandaise was delightful. The flatbread was crispy and flaky the entire way through, which I found satisfying as often things grow soggy.

My second visit, I had the Apple, Cinnamon, Raisin and Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast. I've never had French toast even remotely close to this before. They use French bread, which is a nice change from the standard white bread or Texas toast. The outside of each piece is crispy, but not hard or crusty. The inside is creamy and soft. The apples still have a bit of firmness left in them, and the raisins, though present are not overbearing. I tried it both with and without syrup, and honestly, they don't need a drop.

On my first visit, my waitress was going over seasonal offerings, and mentioned Pumpkin Milk. I was intrigued, so ordered it.
I LOVE pumpkin. The pumpkin milk is actually pumpkin flavored, served with whipped cream and a seasonal cookie or Oreo.
Definitely give this drink a try, it's delicious!

Additionally, the restaurant is maintaining the utmost care in regards to the covid pandemic. There's hand sanitizer just outside the door, the tables are comfortably distanced, and I saw no out of place masks.
I can't speak for pre-covid, but everything I was served food on was disposable, which seems sensible at this time.

This place is absolutely worthy of all the praise it gets!

This is a lovely, unassuming neighborhood restaurant with a remarkably brilliant menu. As guests enetered during my visit, the staff would shout from the counter, "sit at any clean table." They are attentive and friendly. It definitely has a warm, settled, family-owned feel about it, if you know what I mean.

I had come for brunch and I was torn between, "Malaysian spiced pulled pork topped with over medium eggs, crispy fried onions, and shredded ginger in a a crisp rice wafer bowl" and "South African Hash: A Spicy Beef and Lentil Hash over poached eggs and an English muffin topped with Bearnaise' sauce and crispy potato shavings." I said the menu is brilliant.

Opting for the former, I was not disappointed. While I love a Denver Omlet as much as anyone, this was a pleasant diversion for me from "the usual" and the fresh ginger slivers were a bright foil for the pulled pork.

I'm told they are in the national top 20 for brunch.

Cozy little place with good food. Nice, quite spot in Milford near downtown. Quality food with nice portions. AND the freshest fruit I've had in a restaurant on a very long time. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

They have some great juices that would mix fantastic with bubbles.

A compact and cozy local restaurant that offers abstract and delicious dishes. They also offer BYOB (bring your own beverage). A big plus is NO SERVICE (with AT&T) so great time to communicate face to face with your loved ones, friends, and family. IF YOU’RE IN OR AROUND MILFORD, THE CORNER IS A MUST VISIT. Great breakfast. Food was really appetizing. Service was great. Both cuban tacos and Chicken arepas were amazing. Meat was really juich and extreamly tender. Only thing is you will have to wait a bit for your turn to sit.

Small town family owned diner feel with excellent food and service. Everyone was super friendly. The food was fresh and came out quickly. The flavors were amazing.
