Whistle Stop Cafe

As parents this was a great stop. The owner, Maddie was great with our kids and had chalk to draw out on the patio. The food was amazing. Do yourself a favor and get one of their Eggs Benedict’s. Wow.

This is such a cute cafe! The homemade chicken soup was amazing, and we loved the sandwich and wrap. Also, the iced tea was great. Maddie is such a nice girl, and I mentioned I had an allergy and they offered to clean down the grill before making my meal! We had a great experience.

Really nice place to sit outside and have breakfast in the morning. Owner and waitress were very attensive and wonderful. The omelette was delicious and the rye bread was well toasted.

I come here every year around Father’s Day. The menu is always so special and the food is always amazing. I had the bear today and the year before and it made me speechless once again. The owner is always so friendly and involved. 10/10 recommend.

Holy cannoli, was this place delicious! We got served by Maddie herself. She, and the rest of her staff, we're super attentive and friendly. The food itself was scrumptious and not bad on the wallet either! This is a quaint, welcoming place and I highly suggest you don't miss this spot for breakfast/brunch. There are a plethora of dedicated vegan and vegetarian options as well as a sizable omni menu. The vegan hot chocolate is EVERYTHING.

A must stop if ever in Deep River. Small breakfast/lunch nook with a big menu choices. Owner Hedy is super welcoming and "really" treats you like her family😏" Delicious assortment of house made iced tea. Enjoyed one of her many omelettes and a single pancake. Both were awesome. Front and back patio seating with a very cozy interior.

We stopped here for a quick breakfast the other day, just before they close for the winter months. I'm the owner who was working the grill. The food menu items were delicious and we were not disappointed, all in all we had a great meal here and would highly recommend anybody stop on their way down 154.

Cute cafe with a very long history. Support your local business by coming here! Talked to the owner and she has really been struggling this past year trying to keep her family business open even digging into family savings. They offer outdoor seating and indoor seating with lots of ventilation on a good day. The carrot side was so good and the Ruben breakfast sandwich was delicious. Also try the iced coffee! Whoever thought of coffee ice cubes was a genius.

I stopped here for a breakfast sandwich after a hike in a nearby state park. I got a bacon, egg and cheese and a ham, egg and cheese. The eggs were well seasoned and the bread it was on was almost croissant like. It was delicious and inexpensive for what you for! On top of that the service was great and friendly. I definitely recommend a stop in!

Absolutely Fantastic!!! My wife an I stopped in on Memorial Day for breakfast on our way to the shore. Well worth the detour.Small place with a great menu. We were surprised and impressed by the selection. I had the Neptune Eggs Benedict which was amazing...Spicy crab meat with fresh spinach, nice Hollandaise sauce with perfectly poached eggs. My wife had a veggie egg white omelet with fried potatoes which she said was delicious! This place is a real gem...Fantastic staff and service and is definitely on our list of places to go back to.

Great little cafe on Deep River's historic main street. The food is fresh and creative, and Hedy has some recommendations for which foods will benefit you if you're interested in health benefits (she makes her own antiviral tea, for instance). Awesome corned beef hash. I'm not vegan, but she said she has 2 pages of vegan offerings on her menu. I've eaten here multiple times over the years and it's always great.

delightfully quaint spot with pretty much anything you might want for breakfast or lunch. very personable staff that give it a real home touch giving how intimate the space is. not pictured is the poached eggs over roasted veggies and homefries, and that plate was phenomenal.

the burger was pretty divine. properly roasted bun with a nice crusted flattop burger, covered in bacon egg and cheese. it was perfectly sloppy. left this place with a slice of pie feeling full and fantastic on every bite i had. can't wait to come back.

Awesome breakfast/lunch spot! I got the rustler eggs Benedict (with corned beef hash, yum!) and my husband got the weekly special Benedict. Both were really really good. We also got an iced coffee and iced tea, both very good. If we lived around here, we'd come here every weekend for brunch! They have a nice patio and dogs are allowed.

Sweetest people, best atmosphere, delicious food. What more could you ask for?

The Whistle Stop was such a lovely way to start our morning! We enjoyed the Cannes eggs Benedict, the Mountie omelet special, and the ruhbarb stuffed french toast special. It was all fantastic and such a blast to chat with Maddie and hear her suggestions. I love that this diner has been in and out of the family for almost 100 years. I can understand why folks must always go back for more!

You know the type of cafe/ restaurant that only exists in the movies? It has the kind and warm owner, unique regulars, and unbelievably delicious food tucked into a small cafe in a charming small town? That’s whistle stop cafe. Everything about my experience was charming, memorable, and DELICIOUS. Whistle stop has tons of options for everyone, including me (a vegan) and my aunt (gluten free). Not only do they have vegan and gluten free options, but the owner has made sure they take both vegan and gluten free seriously. She does everything in her power to limit cross contamination and is transparent about everything. AND she makes sure the vegan and/ or gluten free options are delicious. I had one of the best tofu scrambles I’ve ever had and don’t even get me started on the potatoes! You haven’t had potatoes until you’ve had them at whistle stop. Overall, whistle stop is a must and every person who drives through town should stop and experience it.

Oh!! To my fellow vegans- Get the vegan hot chocolate!

Breakfast was delicious and service was very friendly. Cute little neighborhood spot. Will definitely come back to try more of the menu. Being able to pay with Venmo was a bonus.

Super nice local spot, lots of Herbal teas & pick me ups for a long day or night. Owner Maddie was super nice & friendly, with a nice conversation & really nice Breakfast. Lots of local folks coming threw, with places to sit outside (front & back) & just enjoy the morning...Local super pleasant suprise.

This is my 2nd time here. The people and the food is amazing. Everyone super friendly.
This place is small and amazing with the owner working and interacting with the customer all the time.
