Dollar Tree

Sometimes Dollar Tree is the perfect place to buy your D.I.Y project supplies! I picked up a few glass vases, some really pretty gem like stickers, some craft glue & voilá... my gift to my step mom for Mothers Day!

Store is clean and well stocked. Employees are always really sweet and helpful!

Inexpensive useful household items, craft supplies, stocking stuffers and little gifts, stationery items, snacks and soft drinks, and cleaning supplies are the items I seek out at Dollar Tree. Some also have a freezer case with some food items; the Middletown location does not offer this but the nearby Cromwell site does. The staff is friendly and helpful, although they do seem to have high turnover. If you are willing to really sift through what's there, you can make some excellent finds and save a lot of money, or treat yourself to something nice without breaking open your piggy bank. This season I have found name brand Barbie accessories for example. They were great stocking stuffers and not overly cheap looking. The Crafters Corner brand offers several items much more expensive elsewhere such as clear rubber stamps, stamp blocks, jewelry making clasps, and 100% cotton yarn. These are not always in stock but when I do find them they are great to get. Such items are the sort of thing you have to check for and buy when you find it to stock up. Cleaning supplies are usually available. Bleach is a top item I get often as even at the higher price its less expensive than elsewhere. Liquid dish soap is also a pretty good deal unless you need the large size and then it's a bit closer as to which is best. I also use LA's Awesome detergent brand. It's not as good as Tide but can be used for lightly soiled loads and save the expensive stuff for when I really need it. You can also get clothespins in cleaning sometimes, which are great for general purpose clips. I use them to close my dry goods in the kitchen, group papers, etc. They are much cheaper than a 3 pack of chip clips and do just as well, plus with some 2 dozen in a pack, I have no excuse to run out of them! Cards are still a good buy if you're going to send commercial ones. There are some name brands like Hallmark if you shop the season early. Many are still 2 for $1. There are also multipack thank you notes and party invitations. I have also gotten the multipack Christmas cards, although these are usually off brands and in my opinion feel flimsy, but the prints are nice and religiously themed Christmas ones are available. I have used them for spares in a pinch, and instead of gift tags on presents to coworkers. A 12 or 15 pack costs about as much as fancy gift tags and gives the place to write a note.

I also like the seasonal decor. They cover Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, St. Valentine's day, and Easter with a generous selection. Some items can also be found for Day of the Dead, Hanukkah, New Year, St. Patrick's Day, Mardi Gras, and 4th of July to a lesser extent. There are also items that would more broadly be for spring, summer, fall, or winter. For example seasonal door signs accompany the appropriate seasonal holidays. They also have an aisle dedicated to birthday decor. Cups, plates and napkins are staples, and other accessories such as banners, table cloths, balloons, party favor trinkets are available. Similarly there are plastic cutlery and plates and decor themed for baby showers and weddings usually around with a smaller selection. The gift bags for the occasions are often found in the gift wrap aisle. Interestingly there is a section dedicated to patriotic decor and glow sticks maintained in the back with toys year round.

It is of note that this is not strictly a dollar store anymore. Most items are now priced at $1.25. Some items are still cheaper here than at other stores even with the price hike. Some is cheaper elsewhere or in bulk. Sometimes I notice items they used to carry are not longer available, in smaller quantity, or not regularly available. For example I was looking for Pepsodent toothpaste and toilet paper, which were both out of stock. They also do not carry Swan brand mouthwash and all toothpastes were small portion even at the greater price. They carry 2 for $1.00 cards still, but be sure to read the signs to see which ones. Overall I still find it a great store.

Wow: do they have a craft section!! It is dollar items but when do u ever need 2 make a fancy craft?! There was only 1 cashier open & had 2 wait 10 minutes in line but people in line were chatty so it made time go fast.

Best deals on party items.. table cloths plates and plastic ware.

So far this is the best dollar tree store I've been. Well stacked and the cashier was pleasant!!!

I shop here often. The products are useful and the cashiers are friendly.

I read some of the 1-star reviews. Are you people serious? It's a dollar store! And the lady who reported them because the cashier's mask wasn't covering her nose?
I guess you have't been paying attention to the science:Fauci's masks were always useless.
This is practically the only place i went during the lockdowns and i never had Covid

I went there last Sunday to buy wine bottles. The lady was very helpful. I called ahead and she took the time to help look and see if you had them in stock. When I arrived she asked if I called for the bottles. I think she saw my puzzled face as I’ve never been to this location. She was very friendly and deserves to be recognized. Wish I knew her name.

This store has a great selection of products. Plus the price is right!
The cashiers are very friendly, attentive and polite. I always have a great experience with one of the staff members named, Ameia. She is always very pleasant and professional.

$Tree carries items you'd never expect. What a blessing for new apartment owners and limited income/or any household! It's clean and staff very helpful and friendly!

I personally love this place everything is only a dollar and it's amazing the stuff to go find yes I will net some stuff is cheap quality but a lot isn't you can save a lot of money on things at this place if you shop right.

I love this store each time I go in there to get a few things I always come out with more there are so many things in thereto catch the eye and price is great.

Always find what I need and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Great hours for me because they open at 8am and I work nights no waiting.

Clean store, still no envelopes for mailing first class mail, been out for about three months. Otherwise a nice place to find things you need.
